  1. An Australian would ‘lose’ about $15 of ‘value’ if renewing 6 months before the expiry date…… ???? seems legit
  2. Have a poke through this, mate. May give sone clarification https://www.bot.or.th/Thai/AboutBOT/Activities/event/Documents/ADBI_bancha.pdf
  3. But seriously, I love the banking system here when it comes to QR's, instant transfers, deposit ATMs, PropmtPay etc. It took Australia up until fairly recently to get on board with instant transfers, especially bank to bank. Go Thailand!
  4. Next thing you know they'll have cardless withdrawals from ATM's with a QR code ????
  5. Reported on the new system 5 December . got an email saying all details accepted with a TM47 PDF to print. Yesterday, on the day it was due i received a rejection email with ‘overstay’ as the reason. Off I trot to soi 5 Jomtien Beach Road. The officer at counter 4 looked at my emails and print outs, changed the date on my old TM47 in my passport to my next report date and states that as I needed to apply for a new extension in March I can do it on that date, 3 weeks early, and everything will be fine. He didn’t take any notes or record any of my details and nothing was entered/updated on his computer terminal My passport is 3 years old and I’m on my 2nd marriage extension
  6. Just make sure you cover it if it looks like rain, don’t want it getting wet
  7. Correct. I pump ground water to a holding tank, then I have another pump into a solid media filter/pressure tank and into the house. No need for gov water
  8. When I bought my home last year we had a well, tank, pump etc. I enquired about government water as a redundant system, 32000 to run a 220m branch of the nearest point and meter installed. I went ahead with it. That was a year ago and I still haven’t connected it to my house lol 64 baht a month service charge. At least I have it available in case of an extended power outage, ground water issues or something unforeseen
  9. This is accurate from my experience, unless otherwise agreed on of course Appraisal is also negotiable ????
  10. Sad, and just another reason to never provide too many details in this country, especially. Like yourself I used to be open and honest about everything I did or planned to do, informing those I felt needed to be. But after being faced with many hurdles Ike the one you have mentioned I now just keep my mouth shut until asked, and even then it’s usually a cut down version. It’s not something that doesn’t sit right with me personally, but is a necessary evil
  11. What, like you posting this kind of trope here. Mission accomplished!
  12. Since when? I got my OTP’s just a few weeks ago from NAB & ING. And Telstra Live chat had no issue with it. I also have 2 factor authorisation for Google and others I don’t think that statement is accurate, sorry mate Pic of my ING SMS’s up until I forgot to top up 2 weeks ago lol
  13. I have a Telstra prepaid sim. Just need to top up some time in every 6 month period to keep it valid. Obviously I don’t call or text with it but I receive all my bank OTP’s without an issue for the last 3+ years. Unfortunately I forgot to top up recently and my service was ‘cancelled’. Quickly jumped on live chat with their app. Sent a mate in Aus a copy of my drivers license and a quick email authorising him to reopen account as they quarantine your number for 30 days. New sim with my 12+ year old number on its way to me via the post. Crisis over I use Wise too but I still need OTP’s for new payees or large transactions
  14. It’s good that you ask questions but please do as much research as you can for yourself. Don’t let FOMO rule your investing decisions ????????
  15. Just because you’ve never heard of it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. Just recently there has been huge data breaches here, and details aren’t necessarily used immediately. Once they’re out there in unscrupulous hands there’s no deleting them again.
  16. Agreed. Mildly frustrating but very concerning at the same time. I had politely questioned it the first few times it happened many moons ago, only to be met with blank stares or looks of annoyance. Obviously I’m the problem ????
  17. I get my bloods done every 6 months and just got my 2nd AZ vaccine last week. And I’m 2 weeks in to getting a quality dental implant installed at 1/4 of the cost in Australia. I’m happy
  18. Chang & Bud. Got a mate that loves Archa that much that’s what he named his son!
  19. It’s always a lottery as to whose passport details are printed on the back of the documents I receive from immigration. looks to me that they’re used as ‘scrap’ paper and recirculated
