6 months a year is peanuts, you will never have a issue to make that work. Best would be a tourist visa from back home each time at first, that will get you 90 days including an extension, to then do a first border run + extension and then a second border run + extension possible again.
Don't listen to the posts here with people; oh you can not do this, you could be denied entry bla bla bla. It is very simple to explain to immigration: I like Thailand a lot and always work 6 months per year really hard double shifts, to then stay here 6 months. Ok sir, have a nice day.Agree, I’ve never had a problem in over 30 years. One tourist visa 60 days + 30 days extension. Then I go on holidays for a week or more to a neighboring country, do another 60 day visa +30 days extension. I stay through the European winter months, then home to S of France for the other 6/7 months. All totally legal.

For me it would had been a no go no matter what, and for many reasons.
Two main reasons
The age
Lack of Communication
Many Thai girls get married at that age. A bit less in today’s world.

So, charge 300 baht to pay for the lack of infrastructure and the monstrous queues at Thai airports . That’s charging the tourists for the government’s mistakes ( thieving). Thailand is a mess .

Just had a friend in WhatsApp staying in Pattaya 19 nights staying in Airbnb a Condo with no money safe
Yes he should of asked first before renting it off Airbnb but he says you can't contact the owner first on this Airbnb .
Do they have portable money safes in Pattaya stores he can go to ?
Ok think there is a hardware store near Tony's Gym ,maybe they sell it hen but as I said useless without it being drilled down
I suggested putting his cash in his suitcase under the bed ,I mean it's unlikely anyone is going to break into his unguarded Condo
I think it's FLYBIRD
Even if he was to buy a small money box it wouldn't be drilled down
Freezer may be a good place
Under the bed
On top of wardrobe
He is mentioning a PIR portable alarm apparently goes off if someone is in sight so could scare off thieves ,where do you buy these
Just tell him to go to the main office of TT exchange on second road , right side going after school/Wat/ baht bus stop. Go inside , and he can rent a safe , minimum one month but it’s cheap enough. It’s a proper bank safe with individual boxes. There’s one in Jomtien too near the Hemingway pub.,

Yes, think you’re right , better to try the international school in Bangkok first to see how they manage. Just imagine taking them abroad only to find out they are a bit disadvantaged ? The whole procedure would be a mess and not a good experience for the kids.

One thing i have noticed in the last 10/15 years here, is the amount of Thais with acne issues these days. Either full blown or covered in scars from it. Not sure if this is a cause of eating habits changing and the copious amounts of sugar in their diet??
True, I’ve noticed lots with bad acne. Maybe food related or the terrible creams/ whitening they use on their face.

It is not really clear what is meant by "failure to report her entry".
Might simply mean no TM30 filed.
This is what I understood. So the Aussie defrauded her of that much money, she followed him to Thailand to try and save the money. ( forgot to do a TM 30 totally plausible) The Aussie, made up the story of her wanting to kidnap the child to get away with not returning the money .
Nothing I have read on the ladies profile hints to her being some sort of crazed kidnapper. There again………..

Tipping was never a thing in the UK, except for a small tip for the barber and taxi driver. So no, I haven't changed my habits since leaving the UK 22 years ago. I tip the barber and I tip the taxi/motodip driver - that's it 🙂
I remember my father always leaving a tip in restaurants when I was young.( 40 ++ years ago. ) I asked once why, and he said because they work damned hard with a smile. Which they do, like my father I always tip, yes taxis too if they’re on time and drive safe. Otherwise my mum always had a Christmas envelope for the milkman, coalman, etc.

Britain, like Germany , are kings of the package tour. Turkey apparently is dead cheap, has nice beaches etc. Spain, always a winner, some gorgeous places, not everyone goes to Benidorm. Lovely people and also cheap, easy to get to, loads of daily flights and low cost easyjet. South of France is doing well, Monaco is full to the rafters , great weather mostly, easy to get to. Full of Brits too. Most places in Italy you have to book far in advance, Greece, beautiful , Portugal , Morocco , no lacking in choice and prices. We also have a winter season which brings in a lot of big money, Italy, Switzerland and Austria, France. Taking into account the price of flights, Thailand isn’t that attractive anymore, the authenticity had all but disappeared, the Thais “ just don’t care” as a friend said to me , customer service is not up to standard.
Vietnam seems very popular on the adverts / TV I see, and the company that does the Mekong boat cruises, Laos, Cambodia needs booking a year in advance . Burma was very popular until the coup.
What Thailand is missing is the new expats, and repeat guests. Being a snowbird myself, the regulars staying through the European winters have greatly diminished! These two categories are usually over 50 and have much bigger spending budgets. I don’t see many Chinese or Russians in the restaurants I eat at daily, I suppose the Chinese must be at their buffets and the Russians cooking cabbage at home with Babushka.- 2

I for one believe in the preservation of these old buildings. The situation alone is probably worth the money in today’s world.
I love visiting these beautiful houses , there are still quite a few around, Phuket, Hua Hin. Singapore, Penang, Malacca, Tokyo and Kyoto have some of the most beautiful, love them.Personally, I could live in one easily. Jim Thomsons is a dream.- 1

https://www.thaipbsworld.com/ex-immigration-chief-surachate-given-stern-warning-
This was when Surachate complained about the installation of the new airport entry system that was costing the country a fortune and had many faults. He spoke about it to the Press . He was right ,and this had no slur on any foreigners. So what’s your point?

He was warned many times about his constant anti foreigner outbursts with the media. When he was finally fired from immigration, the PM had this to say, back in 2020.
In an order, issued today by the Prime Minister, Pol Lt-Gen Surachate, who is currently working as a civil servant attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, was told not to do anything which could be deemed to be gross misconduct, such as performing his duty dishonestly, filing false reports, bypassing his superior, abusing his authority, being careless in the performance of his duties, abandoning his duty or doing anything which could be deemed to be persecution or oppression of others.
Ah, so you believe General Prayut Chan o Cha now ? I know who Id rather believe .

From the photo, look at the background ! The jewelry stands are near the entrance of the mall. You can see the security guards legs in the photo. So easy to nip in and out. These thieves know how to rob. Distract the sales lady asking to look at something else, or a third accomplice opposite them. Central world side entrance has all the jewelry stands near the doors.
As for the thieves, could be from anywhere, Chinese / Thai/ other Asian. The guy could be a Falang.

time to install security doors on all those open shops
wonder why this snatching does not happen every single day, too easy, no security
Shopping mall !!! Why don’t readers read the story ?

The distracted staff may be an accomplice. Staff in these shops doesn't get distracted as there are 2 staff per customer & a guy at the door.
Staff must have recognised nationality by their accent or if they spoke Thai. How did they know about "getaway taxi" reg.?
It was in a big shopping mall, not an independent shop !!!

Then you obviously have a problem ! The Hua Hin reports the German being “ confused and aggressive “ and wandering around until the police apprehended him. He has also attacked an Englishman . There were witnesses!! Your anger at this is not normal..

I’m angry at the government/ law makers in Thailand who allow these bucket cocktails and cheap alcoholic drinks to be served everywhere. Nothing is controlled , no hygiene and no rules . I know, as you all do, where to eat and drink, but tourists from western countries have no idea what’s going in those drinks/ food preparation. Same with the cannabis shops, no checks, no control, leading to crazy/dangerous situations affecting foreigners and Thais alike..

Sponsor tastes nasty and it's full of chemicals. In its natural state, coconut water contains electrolytes such as potassium, sodium, magnesium, and phosphorus. I cycle long distances every day regardless of the heat. I don't get dehydrated. I drink 3 to 4 liters of plain water per day. I eat a banana or two and some coconut water regularly.
It’s handy to check your blood too. I was very low on potassium, I had 2 perfusions ( 2 hrs each) to get my levels back to the norm. Very dangerous. I also take a magnesium before bed to help sleep. My go to drink is fresh coconut water, love it and settles my stomach. Bananas, papaya, plenty water.

They the Russians were the same in WW2 raping, pillaging, drinking all along the way, they have no morals.
An old man told me years back that when the Russian arrived the locals would send messages to neighboring villages to warn the people to hide the women and kids, especially girls. Savages he said.

Definitely !! Doesn’t look like drink, maybe drugged, certainly not normal. Why don’t they call the police immediately instead of posting and then having to find the person ???

British woman allegedly assaulted by Bangkok condo guard

To me, sounds like she was drunk. Went downstairs ask / check the husband’s whereabouts/ car. Maybe the security man doesn’t understand. She gets annoyed and there it all goes downhill. .Looks like a very high standing building. Seems to me that the CCTV tells all . I hope the guy doesn’t get into trouble.
