It's clear who doesn't understand.  If you understand so well compare the possible spread by an individual who is sick for 5 days versus someone who is sick for 10 days.  It's extremely obvious that vaccinated people have less severe symptoms than the unvaccinated.  A higher percentage of unvaccinated will exhibit lung problems and sore throat problems that lead to coughing and the attendant greater dispersal of virus that results.  Duh!

That is what severity means in my post - which you quoted.

and any restaurant that if found to be infected with covid should also have its licence removed and fined, for allowing their staff to transmit this deadly virus

And how are they "Allowing" their staff to spread Covid ?

Vaccine will not stop it. Maybe remove all the people from said restaurant - staff and customers.

    Bad for business that

The vaccines will lower the amount of virus circulating because it lowers the severity of infection in the vaccinated.  The vaccinated individuals recover faster and therefor are spreading the virus for a shorter amount of time.

    The amount - no

    The severity - yes

The vaccine does not kill covid - so people can still spread it, people can still catch it.

How hard is this to understand ? For some people it seems very hard

How about this one.   Harvoni,  a drug that taken as a single pill for 90 days will cure hepatitis c for over 90% of the patients.  Cost ?  An eight-week treatment course is approximately $65,000, a 12-week course is $98,500, and a 24-week course around $197,000 without insurance or funding.

(insurance of course has "conditions" !

Ahhh,  but now they finally allow a generic to be sold in the US  .  Approx cost around 30k dollars for the 3 months !!

Then there is the generic made in India.   Same ingredients and under the patent of Gilead .  Cost ?

Around 1500 dollars total !!    Is it allowed to be sold in other countries  .   Heck no !

how many people have hep C  ?  Globally, an estimated 58 million people have chronic hepatitis C virus.        Drug companies :   sorry,  if you can't afford it just die .  not our problem

Yes, i know,  probably off topic

Harvoni is what I took for 12 weeks.

Course of treatment the year before with different drugs did not get rid of the Hep C

  5. Thought I was going to die riding it.

Heading up the 3037, no traffic, enjoying the ride, when a tree branch hit the road about 10 meters in front of the bike.

Swerved right, around the limb, back on my side of the road.

Found a place to pull off and took a breather.

Largest part of the multi branched piece that hit the road was the size of my thigh.

    5-6 meters long.

I used gasohol for many years in a honda civic (250K kms) and never had a problem.

Agreed. In any car made since before the turn of the century ethanol blended fuel will work fine.

Many people telling old wives tales from the days of carbs and leaded fuel.

My bike sat almost 7 years full of gasahol. No issue.

  7. OP - 10W30 will suit you just fine. Change the filter at each oil change - they are cheap.

Our town car is a 2001, 1.6 litre. When I bought it was a one owner car with a full service history. Nissan records until end of warranty and then the same local garage until I bought it. Always 10W30. Always a new filter.

Over 220,000 Km now and burns not a drop.

To add - it has been on LPG since new, which many on this forum will say causes the valves to burn out and results in decreased engine life.

Well - it does not. Frequent oil changes are the key to long engine life.

10W30 means that it's made for temperatures up to 30 degree Celsius. In Thailand it's often warmer than that, so this oil would not be a good choice for Thailand.

I lived in Yukon for over 25 years. Saw temps of -67C = -88.6F

Never used any oil like -67W30

Used 0W30 full syn. Altho' we never drove in those temps - steel shatters like glass. Think leaf springs

And where did you get this info ?  How can outside temp make any difference ?

The 10W30 designation on engine oil means that the viscosity of the oil is rated at 10W when an engine is cold and 30 when the engine is hot. This is different than an oil labelled 5W30, which has a thinner viscosity when the engine is cold at 5W.

A quality conventional motor oil will tolerate oil sump temperatures of up to 250 degrees, but starts breaking down over 275 degrees. The traditional approach is to try to hold oil temperatures between 230 and 260 degrees.
