Hi, canthai55; thanks for your response.
The ear plugs you suggest are the one's I've been using. I buy them at the local drug store. They do a great job at cutting out all noise, too. But I'm more interested in those that reduce the damaging wind noise but allow other frequencies to pass.
StubbyAre the 3M brand - or some generic brand ?

One of the first things to do to any new bike is to check fasteners.
Those that can, replace regular nuts with nylocks.
Blind holes get a clean and some blue Loctite.
Don't trust assembly line workers with being as meticulous as is required.

Yes, one can buy high quality cooking oils here, which is what I do.
But no restaurants will...
Well, I do not know about Phuket. Tourist trap is what I found.
Find it hard to believe that there are no good cooks on the whole island.
But seems you are looking for what can only be achieved if you cook it.

Sorry, today it was a big mess and the queue was too long. There are so many middle points/steps to go to and the instructions weren't clear on what the next step is.
I wouldn't call that 'going smoothly'. I can't comment about the queue situation before today.
It seems that it started becoming worse when someone announced 'walk-in' on the internet.
They call your number - you go.
He checks your paperwork, gives you directions. You go.
And on ... and on ... and on
What did you find so difficult ?

What city did you think it was ?

Back in my day no one would be caught dead on a Japanese scooter. Get off your darn fossil fuel burning, air polluting, noisy scooters and walk I say. You will feel and look better.
Peace

Cool. I cook all my food, as I have developed the understanding that Thai food was real bad food. Nobody knows how to cook healthy here.
What are you saying ?
Of course SOME cooks use MSG, old oil, yadda yadda yadda
But some only use fresh organic produce, olive oil, fresh meat and fish.
Suggest you get out more and find the good restaurants.
I ate breakfast in one of my all time favorite places this morning.
Glass noodles with basil, mixed veg, sour sausage, Hom Mali Mai (Thai jasmine rice), sweet green curry, fried eggs. Delicious.
60 baht - try making it yourself for that price

It gives you bail bond, supplies an insurance company rep to come to the scene of an accident and assist you.
And to come to the police station and close the incident. All hard to do unless you speak fluent Thai, and know the regulations.
Plus you get your bike fixed no matter who is at fault.
Bought my Forza for 40K, insurance values it at 75K, first class 4000 THB
A no brainer

By the way, the Click does not have a starter motor.
Electric start without a starter motor - those guys at Honda are so clever !
They have a combined one - alternator when running, starter motor when not.
So the DO have a starter motor

Are there any second hand markets here in Thailand (online)? I understand that a new from dealer is somewhere around 150,000 - 180,000 Baht, is this correct?
Check Facebook groups. Many many bikes for sale. You can filter so just the model you want comes up

CRF250L 2017. Bought new.
300cc conversion, alloy wheels, Ohlins front and rear, rack with top box, crash bars, GPS, fone mount (Quad Lock)
Stock exhaust - guy who did my conversion, in answer to the requirement for aftermarket, said "If you want it noisy and less powerful, go for it"

What I find unbelievable (cheap) is that the fine is 200 baht for no licence !
The real problem is the lack of a license follows closely by the lack of insurance.
But this is mainly affecting foreigners, as among Thai people it is very common.
The main reason why First Class insurance is a must - CYA

Problem lies in the auto stop/start feature, which is complete BS in itself. Would you rather buy one more litre a year of fuel or a new starter motor ?

Motorcycle Ear Plugs
in Motorcycles in Thailand
Posted
Them's the ones.
I find that if you roll them up, and use the opposite side hand to grab the top of your ear and pull up and out, it allows the ear canal to elongate and increase in size. This ensures an easy insertion, and good comfort.
Wear them 12 hours a day when working - no pain issues.
