  1. Well, has he?

Isn't it ALL a great conspiracy against him form people who envy him for his incredible success -

because he has been doing so much good for the poor -

eliminated poverty completely and everyone owns a private mobile phone now - courtesy of AIS!?

    - happy family, one hand clap! -

    - it's all a great envy based conspiracy against this purely honest, law abiding,

prime citizen and outstanding family man, who always only wanted all the best for his beloved country,

    and it's citizens!

    - he who never made an "honest mistake" involving billions of shares, throws the first stone!

If you are trying to be sarcastic or ironic, you need to some help making it come across better.

If you are serious, then you need some help period... :o

  2. Previously, lots of people liked to compare the expected outcome in Western countries of incidents occurring in Thailand, eg. seizing the airport, occupation of Government House.

In the Pattaya situation, I have small doubt the Secret Service would have a put a bullet in every one of those of people attacking the vehicle of the U.S. president.

Good point. All things considered, a lot of restraint was shown by the police and Abhisit's bodyguards. That is unless the BiB are actually turning a blind eye and conspiring to help out their old buddy Thaksin. Who knows who is on whose side now?

I know of one policeman who goes to the protests at ratchadamnoen for security. After his shift is over he changes into a red shirt and joins the protests himself.

As was posted here a few pages back.

  3. One of my wife's very distant relatives called her up on Sunday, under the pretext of chatting, then proceeded to invite her to "Go to a party on the 8th" at Government house. She then mentioned that my wife would be able to receive a few hundred baht expense money as well. My wife mentioned that she thought the red shirt/yellow shirt nonsense was ridiculous, and her relative launched into this 10 minute diatribe spouting the red shirt party line (for similar examples, See any post by Koo). My wife tried to discuss the issue, but the relative didn't have much to discuss (not the brightest bulb on the tree). Questions that my wife asked were ignored etc.

I don't know this relative (indeed, my wife hasn't heard from her in years), but if they are calling relatives to "Go to a party", i can't help but think turnout is going to be less than the "1 million" that the UDD leaders promised. The promise of money was pretty funny as well, as the Reds always seem to claim that their people are "true believers" and not just paid lackeys.

  4. Regarding people, there are 2 sides now:

    - One is demanding their rights to vote for the party bringing benefits to them. This side demands everyone has the same right and their majority votes must be honored. They don't accept a coup either direct or indirect. They have been used, controlled, forced and threatened for 70 years. They know their tax feeds the government and they have to right to choose which government they want. This side wants Thailand to develop because they will be better at the same time.

    - One is supporting the ruling class and knocking the competitor by all means including supporting yellow PAD and ignoring wrong doers of their side. This side does not support the idea of 1 person 1 vote. Many people from this side are government officials who think they are big and right. They think the other side is low and do not deserve to be respected. They refuse to improve. If Thailand is poor or rich, they are still getting benefits. Example: when people discussed how to develop train system in Thailand, train employees protested.

You forgot the third side Koo

    - The Thaksin "I want my money back and don't really care about anyone or anything, except for that."

I could see how that would be easy to miss....

  5. Just remind me please.

The AEC was appointed by the generals of the coup who hated Thaksin and kicked him out.

Its made up of people who hate Thaksin.

It is a non legal entity under the previous constitution, but that constitution was thrown in the bin by an illegal coup.

The coup leaders were granted immunity under the new constituion their people wrote.

So.........the AEC was set up by the people who kicked Thaksin out.

    Yes, sounds very obvious really.

    :o

Since Thaksin had so stiffled the check and balances

this was the first opportunity to actually investigate his shenanagans.

All AEC findings were THEN passed onto constitutionally valid entities.

And you can say all you want the 'hate' Thaksin.

But moderate dislike and complete distrust would be just as valid reasons to investigate his corruption.

All the AEC was, was an investigative body.

It's findings were not acted on BY the AEC, but passed forward into the legal system.

If those findings didn't pass legal muster then they would not, and in a few cases did NOT, continue,

but a large percentage did and are continuing through the legal process.

The origin of the AEC's creation doesn't let Thaksin off the hook for

actions he committed prior to it's inception and/or demise.

Your dog don't hunt, no matter how flat his head.

    Yeah! :D

  6. Hey All,

Well I have a problem on my hands and wanted to see if anyone on here has ever had something similar happen or have any advice for me.

    So here is the deal:

I have been with my girlfriend for like 4 years now and love her to bits. Problem is I like to have fun on the side when I am out here and there.

About 2 years ago I met this other girl and it was always good fun to call her up and go out with her and her friends when I was away from the gf.

I enjoyed calling the girl on the side because well the sex was great and she has many hot friends whom I have cheated on the girl ont the side with. Funny thing is that she found out was seriously pissed, faught her friend but still was ok with staying with me. Over time I kept calling her and it developed a little more into what started to seem to me like a relationship rather then just good old fun.

Now the girl on the side has told me that she is about 2 month pregnant and to be honest I am pretty freaked out about it. I was planning on proposing to the gf but I have no clue what to do in this situation.

The thing is I love the gf like crazy and cant imagine my life without her. I know I am the idiot for cheating on her in the first place. Does anyone on here have any ideas on what I can do in the mess I have gotten myself in?

The one thing I hope that she will forgive me for the cheating part, not sure how the Thai girls look at this type of stuff but when I think about it I did cheat on the girl on the side a couple of times with her frineds and she is still here.

    Let me know your thoughts.

So you have this girlfriend of 4 years, sleep around without practising safe sex and claim you love this girl.

Consider yourself a Jack the Lad, do you?

It appears you have no regard for the welfare of your girlfriend, or for any child that is unfortunately going to have a deadbeat as a father and willing to put these girls at risk of STDs and AIDs.

You are an incompetent fool and a loser.

    Seconded

  7. There is something wrong, with letting a convicted Criminal make phone-ins, attempting to everthrow the Government, to get Amnesty for his and other peoples crimes. I have no idea why the current government let it drag on this long? Setting up a link for Thaksin to speak via satelite at the demonstration site, made the gathering illegal. In most countries around the World, the Government would have moved in right away and disbanded he protesters, after determining, that some of their actions were highly illegal.

I say, break it up, while it is small and then immediately break up any attempts to have more Red demonstrations, anywhere in the Country. They have proven, that they are an illegal movement by letting a convicted criminal speak for them (via video link) and by supporting this convicted Criminal.

They are attempting to remove the current government for self serving reasons...mainly to create a setting, where Amnesty is possible, for all their political members and supporters, who where judged guilty of illegal activities, such as vote buying.

Then of course, there is the issue, of the former TRT wanting to get their hands back into the cookie (money) jar.

In the end, most of it is about who gets to benefit from all the corruption. Who gets to benefit from Government contracts for infra structure, etc. I have no illusions...both sides are corrupt, when it comes to that, but bringing back a convicted criminal is not the answer. That is the reason the RED protest leaders are out there right now, because they want all that corruption money for themselves. Everything else, is only smoke and mirrors.

Meanwhile, there is a good chance, that people will get hurt again, if this continues (and yes, I agree, it will continue) :D For some of them, I won't feel bad (the ones who come in with open eyes and are only there out of greed), but for the poor misguided ones, who truly believe that Thaksin was a good man worth supporting, I do feel sorry for them and I don't want to see them get hurt.

I just hope that demonstration numbers will remain fairly low, as they are at the moment, so that this situation can be easy contained (and hopefully without violence)

The right to demonstrate has been abused and taken beyond it's limits by both the PAD and the REDS. If you want to have an effective Government, you have to put your foot down sometimes and stop some of these gatherings, before they turn into a disaster. Don't misunderstand me, I do believe in the right to demonstrate, but having a convicted criminal as the main attraction at the demonstrations, is taking it a bit too far.

Last night, I did see a few more people in Red shirts, in Chiang Mai Province (more than the day before). Also a few in yellow shirts. Most people still seem to stay away from both colours, though, which is as good sign. As always, the media is trying to get a story and saying that most people are just not interested in participating on either side, just doesn't make an exciting enough story for them, I think.

Well, only two more days to find out what happens. I still truly believe, that there will be around 20,000 demonstrators at Government House on the 8th. I believe that they will get violent, because otherwise, their movement would quickly become smaller and smaller and would eventually be totally ineffectual.

The Government will do anything within it's power to continue to keep it non-violent, because it''s in the Governments best interest to keep it peaceful. Water Cannons and teargas should do the trick, along with shields and other protective gear. Like it was mentioned in the media, after last Octobers violent crackdown, of the previous government, there are international standards for crowd disbursement, which should be followed and most likely will be followed this time.

So in other words, Protesters will probably get wet and red-eyed a few days early and might be a little sore for a few days, but in the end, it probably won't feel much worse than the average Songkran hangover ;-)

I disagree Kurt. I think he should talk everyday. He is only digging himself deeper and deeper with each comment. Eventually his ego is going to take over and he is going to say something really stupid, and even his own hard core people are going to blink.

By mouthing off continuously, he is really hurting his own cause. Im reminded of Ben Franklin, when he said "Its better to stay silent have have people think you are an idiot, then to open your mouth and erase all doubt" - or something to that effect. (cue the "pot/kettle" comments :o )

  8. Thaksin was kicked out of UK,if he returns to Thailand as PM, will he kick all UK residents out?? who knows, do you?

he said UK will regret their decision.

so not sure what you can read into that, in terms of consequences could mean lots of things

It means he's got his fortune tellers, witch doctors and voodoo priestesses, working overtime killing chickens and smoking reefer - until Gordon Browns mum rises and walks, around, cursing the UK and all its inhabitants.

This guy makes for good newspaper copy, but I can't help but think that in the end, he's going to get exactly what he deserves. Kharma is a bitch that way...

personally i think all his bad karma has been exhausted, now his good karma is returning,

we can see this in his newfound sense of purpose with regard to the pro democracy movement.

Hard to take you seriously anymore... :o

Wow, you're quite the stud. Chances are if she's willing to be your "Girl on the side" then she is probably 10 other guys' "Girl on the side" as well. Let us know how long it takes for your penis to turn black and fall off.... :o

  11. So by your reply, my question has no creedence, lets wait and see,,

Thaksin will never return. He is a coward at heart, and like all cowards, he can't stand the thought of himself suffering in any way. As soon has he would return, the handcuffs would go on and he's be escorted to prison. Then there are the 8 different trials awaiting him. Can you picture Takky, in the orange jumpsuit, handcuffed, being escorted to all those trials?

No way he'll ever come back. For Thaksin, all of his efforts regarding the current protests are about money, his frozen 76 billion. Anyone who says different is just blowing smoke.

  12. What is fascinating about this story is not the content. It is destined for the trash heap quickly. But the fact that Puea Thai only managed to gather 120 signatures for its petition. Puea Thai currently has 187 members. So, 57 members didn't sign the petition.....very interesting.... :o

Almost as interesting as what the other 10 members did ? :D

Yes, your right Steve, lol, thanks! But, that just makes it even worse! 67 Puea Thai's AWOL - must have been at Newin's backyard BBQ.

  13. Pheu Thai take PM, Suthep

The Pheu Thai Party yesterday filed a petition with the Senate asking for the impeachment of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Deputy Premier Suthep Thaugsuban for malfeasance.

In their petition handed to Senate Speaker Prasopsuk Boondej, the opposition party said the prime minister had violated the law by failing to serve the ex-officio post of Police Commission chairman, assigning the duty instead to Suthep.

The petition, supported by 120 Pheu Thai MPs, also accused Suthep of chairing the Police Commission's recent meetings without authority. One such meeting on February 6 approved the transfer of 73 high-ranking police officers all over the country. Suthep was accused also of interfering with the Culture Ministry's internal affairs, an act in violation of the Constitution.

Pheu Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit led a group of MPs to submit the petition with Senate Speaker Prasopsuk Boondej.

"I am confident the provisions go against [Abhisit and Suthep]. I have already consulted with former public prosecutors and former judges about this matter. Some former high-ranking police officers also agreed the law was violated in this case," said the spokesman.

Prasopsuk told the MPs the Senate would first verify the signatures in the petition and that the process should be completed by April 18.

The petition cited Article 270 of the Constitution, which empowers the Senate to remove from office any senior public-office holder, including the prime minister and any other Cabinet member, who is "under the circumstance of unusual wealth, or purports to commit corruption, malfeasance in office or an intentional exercise of power contrary to the provisions of the Constitution or law, or gravely violates or fails to observe ethical standards".

  15. At what point do the amounts involved come to light? Is it during the trial. Seldom seems to be in the newspaper reports. I think that ennumerating the sums brings home to people the gravity of the offence and the greed of those involved.

    Here you go...

a new discovery of 1.2 Billion Baht in bribes paid by contractors in the government's Ua Athorn affordable-housing project.

The tea money was allegedly stashed in individual accounts linked to a rice-trading firm seen as close to former Social Development and Human Security Minister Watana Muangsook.

The Assets Examination Committee yesterday indicted eight individuals for corruption relating to 1.2 Billion Baht in kickbacks over construction of the Ua Athorn housing project.

They included former Social Development and Human Security Minister Watana Muangsook, his aide Mana Wongpipat, and former MP Arisman Pongruangrong.

"Of the 15 contractors for the Ua Athorn project, eight have been linked to the 1.2 Billion Baht in bribes and evidence has clearly shown that the minister and his middlemen demanded and received kickbacks," AEC member Kaewsan Atibhodi said.

Those amounts can't be right SJ, because Wattana was the minister under Thaksin, and we know that St. Thaksin and his ilk...i mean associates, never did anything except help the poor and disenfranchised.

  16. I have the bank account information for Mrs. Jb...I mean for the UDD/DAAD. If you PM me, I will personally forward it to you. Donations above 1 million baht receive a free key chain and an autographed copy of "Thakin: Are you Ok?"
