Thank you for your reply.... I thought it would be OK but I did not know when leaving the airport you would not be charged for one day overstay which is good to know
-
I know Thai immigration count the day you arrive as day one on your 90 day visa. My 90 th day will be 22 December but my flight out of Thailand is at 02:00 the following day. If I pass through immgaration before midnight on the 22 Dcember before I catch my flight 2 hours later will I be classed as overstay or not. Paying the small overstay cost is not the issue its planning my time so as not to be late for my flight.

- You can only get the non 'O-A' from the London Embassy (home country/or resident).
- You can get a single entry non 'O' from Thai Embassies/Consulates local to Thailand. It will give you 90 days on entry that can be extended by 1 year at your local immigration office (1,900 baht).
Please tell me more about the single entry non O ..... i am married to a Thai and dont want to keep applying for a 60 day tourist visa and then keep getting a 30 day extension. The non O gives me 90 days but not clear about how the 1 year extension works

A Non Immigration O-A based on age in the UK costs £125 for the multi entry but it requires me attending the Embassy in London which is not going to be easy for me. So I would like to know what are my best options for getting a Non Imm O-A from other countries local to Thailand. I dont want all the additional hassle of supplying a police check ( I have no convictions) and providing the medical certificate as required from the Thai Embassy in the UK. I meet the criteria for the O-A based on age and income as I said I am looking for an easier alternative.

Google and see if a tamato is classified as a veg or a fruit. Never to old to learn.
From your comment I see you either have poor eyesight or are not familiar with how Thai tomatoes look... They do not look like the European species.Complain about vegetables and post a pic of fruit?
Yes very true I am aware of the fact tomatoes are a fruit my post was in general terms about very poor quality veggies and fruit in the major stores.... Seems you still have some learning to do yourself.... Trying doing a Google search on your spelling..... Lol just hope you are not an English teacher...

I agree you can't beat growing your own vegetables... You get immense satisfaction from growing your own and they taste much better and are free if all the chemicals many farmers use.

My Thai wife works as a medical lecturer for a university and has had to go away on a 3 day course with 40 other colleagues. When she and the others arrived by coach at the hotel venue they found that they were booked into shared twin bed rooms. My question is what rights does she have to refuse this sleeping arrangement as I know in the west very few employees would accept this. She has only worked at the university for less than a year so she is reluctant to stir up any problems. Additionally her contract hours are 8.30 pm to 4.00 pm but on this course she is expected to work up to 8.30 pm, this she doesn't have a problem. Her issue is loss of privacy having to share a twin room with another female colleague.

send some flowers to her office with a box of chocolates and offer your sincere apologies again and see what reaction you get

Don't just take into account the weight of the bag but when you are punching the bag it will cause the bag to swing and jolt putting considerably more force on the ceiling rails. I think it would be only a matter of time before it gave way and came crashing down. See if the floor above the false ceiling is solid as if you have access to a hammer drill you could drill and fix a rawl bolt I to the ceiling

Update on my affidavit to marry.... I have an appointment booked ar 8.45am and have been told by the British embassy that my affidavit will be stamped and signed at my appointment and I won't need to collect it the next day which is good news. I have been told there are translation services in a mall close to the British embassy, but there also translation services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs see below taken from other threads on this forum....

Why don't you ask your hotel to provide you with a rental contract, a contract that allows you to leave should you want to move on without being tied to giving any period of notice

300 men plus other backup support services how much did that cost the Thai tax payers?. even worse is that the amount in fines would not cover the cost of their fuel to get to the beach and back.
Huh? They were being paid anyhow!
Are you one of those who seeks an excuse for not doing rather than finding a reason how to improve something? That is sad, really. I can only assume you're never been a "victim" of anything.
What I am trying to conveying is why it had to take 300 men to do this, surely no more than 25 would have been sufficient. To me 300 men is excessive I just wished I see the days when I see the police having a considerably higher profile on the streets and in police cars. Looking to find police patrol cars is like finding rocking horse poop.
-
Why not contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directly and ask them if the Income letter needs to be translated into Thai and legalised by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In future I must make a point of never staying anywhere that has a balcony.... It would be much safer and stop any possible figure pointing that goes on too often in Thailand

Sadly it seems from many of the news articles on TV that violence against victims is an increasing occurrence in Thailand, but the truth is its the same for most countries. I am not a gun person and I tend to put greater emphasis on prevention methods that would deter most burglars or criminals. Which means good CCTV and alarms and good well trained dogs. Most criminals are opportunists and would rather select a more softer option . Having said that I do have weapons such as batons strategically placed.

One of my favourites are English Lincolnshire sausages, amazing seasoning giving a fantastic flavour which takes some beating

Being caught up in momentary rage appears to be a character flaw of many Thai men

If there are rules I doubt they will be enforced, I have brought in so many odd things over the years and NEVER been stopped once, Petrol hedge cutters, petrol leaf blower, Palm trees, assorted food stuffs tools etc etc and I dont mean a bit I mean 50-60 kilos at a time in my luggage
How do you manage to get 50-60 kg that weight I am sure is checked in luggage... What's the tip not to get charged a huge amount for every kilo over your baggage allowance
-
What are the customs regulations about what food I can bring with me in my luggage.... I was thinking of bringing some vacuum packed high quality sausages as I could never find good quality sausages on my visits.

I have travelled in many countries and I thought the Sky Train service from the airport into the city was excellent. Too many negative people here who are very blinkered and probably little experience of travelling in many other countries.
Non O or Extension Of Stay
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
I currently have a non OM visa which expires in August. I need to leave Thailand and return to the UK and return before the current visa expires. I don't want to be constrained by the 90 day leave the country and re-enter, what are my best options as I am married to a Thai, I am over 50 yrs old and have the financial requirements to meet the Extension Of Stay. I need to be able to leave Thailand regularly and return to the UK but without the 90 day limit. If the Extension Of Stay based on marriage and age is the best option can I get this processed at my local immigration office in the south of Thailand. Would this also enable me to exit and re-enter a few times during its validity period or would I need a re-entry permit.
