  1. Buy a food grade drum and a grinder. Cut the drum in half with the grinder. The long way. Rivet some hinges on one side, and a handle on the other side. Rivet some brackets on the inside to hold the stainless steel grill that is going to give you perfect lines. If you can't find the right grill, make one. It's just thick wire welded together. You're sorted, on the cheap.

  2. I hope Thailand gets punished by the international community for all it's disgusting behaviour. Thailand has no shame and those responsible deserve to suffer.

Then It's time to write everyone you know or can think of, like a journalist in another country...whistling.gif and ask them to tell everyone they know. And then have those people tell everyone they know. Rinse and repeat!

You can't get prosecuted for what other people outside of Thailand say.

  3. I have a 3 story 4 bedroom 2 bath townhouse with a full kitchen, dining room, living room laundry and storage room for 7200 a month. It's in a moo-baan with 24 hour security, and on the end of a soi with no cross traffic. I'm near the BTS, but no pool. It's out there if you look.

For about 12k you can (cheaply) buy a new fridge, hot plate and sink.

If I end up staying longer than a month I will check in with you about it.

Yeah, do that. If there are 2 other empty house on my soi, there will be many other houses on other sois.

Now that I think about it, I have a used single gas burner stove w/ a tank, and a sink/dish rack combo thingy that I'll sell you for 3k

  4. He was not the first Kop to expect freebies just because he is a Kop, and he will not be the last, but lets hope this is the start of removing those who are a disgrace to the uniform they wear.

Personally if it were up to me I would remove the "R" from RTP and all associated insignia from their uniforms until such times as they were indeed worthy of the title.

That's a good idea! In fact, lets say that any act that is against the law or embarrasses the RTP should be considered a violation of the 'les majeste' laws. They should be immediately stripped of rank, and thrown in prison.

If they are going to be called the 'Royal Thai Police', they should have some 'Royal' responsibility.

  5. You want first class insurance for one simple reason.

If you hit someone and they die, your white butt is going to jail until it gets sorted. First class insurance provides you bail money so you don't sit in jail.

Your other option is having 200,000 in cash available to get out of jail.

    Choose wisely!

  6. Why cant business help these police with some food. The retail price of some rice and Gop is very inexpensive for them. And police dont get paid enough. They barely survive. Very kineow. But when they have a problem the first friend they call is a policeman....

your off ya head buddy !

This country has never run like yours. You think your rules apply world wide or even in Thailand your a moron. You try living of 12-20K thb a month you know nothing about this country

    ".....your (sic) a moron."

If you are a Thai, bear this in mind. In the west we have a saying made famous by a great American. He said "It is better to be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt"

    You just spoke out.

This Lieutenant colonel was a high ranking Thai police officer sworn to protect and serve the Thai people. He must have been making a good salary, far in excess of the 12 to 20 thousand baht a month you keep blathering on about.

He should have been an example to his men and the public. Instead he has lowered himself to below the level of a common street beggar (who, frankly, I have more respect for.) He demanded free food and then assaulted a simple cashier for reporting his failure to attempt to pay for his meals.

No Frank Serpico is ever likely to appear in this country, Thais would not understand his ethics. Neither, it seems, would you.

You would be surprised to know just how much most members on this forum actually know about this country.

If I could like it twice...! thumbsup.gif

That's the biggest load of crap I've heard in a long time.

First, the cops don't do FA unless you pay them.

Second, the constantly have their 'collective' hands out.

Third, are you going to subsidize the free meals for the BIB, especially considering the aforementioned?

Fourth, where will it stop? The free meals? The monthly protection money?

  8. Well, if he's a British journalist, he probably stole the report himself by hacking a mobile phone. Ship him back to the UK where he can join his brothers in arms in jail.

Let's see. You don't like the Brits or the Americans. Do you like yourself?

Have you ever stood in front of the mirror, looked yourself in the eye and said; 'I really love you and everything you stand for'.

Have you ever done that? Just curious.

  9. How do they know more talk with no facts the average tourist does not need to travel to a destination that is unsafe .Thailand needs to wake up fast as there are many great alternatives.

I think they're asleep at the wheel.

I think they are referring to the foreigners that are ill-infrormed and who can't read or write.

I seriously doubt there are any 'ill-infrormed' foreigners here who can't read or write. Foreigners are typically better educated.

In reference to Thailand 'waking up fast' because there are great alternative tourist destinations, I think they are asleep at the wheel.

  10. If someone exposes ANYTHING that is deemed "defamation" it is against the law. That is Thailand. A crazy country. Now let the whiners " I hate Farang who put down Thailand" come out!

The defamation law here is ridiculous, just like LM, but I can't see it changing any time soon. That said, the recent Phuket verdict offers some hope.

The Phuket verdict came about as a result of massive and negative international pressure and attention. Call me a cynic but if that had not been the case I'm pretty sure they would have locked them up and thrown away the key.

'The Phuket verdict came about as a result of massive and negative international pressure and attention.'

    Sounds like a plan! thumbsup.gif

  11. A word of advice, OP.

Avoid 98% of the Thai men.

Avoid 90% of the Thai women.

Learn some of the language, so you at least know when they are calling you a mofo, or are plotting against you.

Get a quiet university 'sideline' girl you can see regularly, so you can take the edge and don't come across as desperate to potential GF's.

Be worth more alive than you would be dead. Even the girls here run the long con.
