  1. ok as a resume. Reading many posts on this subject it would seem that the system has been given a fair time to stabilize,

it clearly has not, even taking note of success stories (well a few ) it has developed into what i see as an IT

disaster i hate to say it but to launch a system so fragile and sensitive to operate was a very big mistake, one wonders what was the motivation behind introducing it in the first place ? surely was not pressure from expats to enhance the experience and sometimes tedious system of the 90 day report

I have , this morning, used the system to make a third 90 day on line report.

    Chrome +IE Tab.

    Stable and quick.

    Absolutely no problem encountered.

    Report now pending approval.

  2. Yeah Ubon

i am on a non o extension yeah finish on 8 november and i need 30 day for make new 60 day extension before new visa in february in the new passport

    You can renew the extension.

    When does your passport expire?

When I did an extension last year it left 2 pages, they said you MUST get a new PP...So my thoughts are they will not extend with just one page..Sure Joe will clarify..

If there is a usable page in the passport they will use it. The extension stamp only requires a half page.

Immigration were very good in reminding you of the need to obtain a new passport. Leaving such matters to the last minute is rarely a good idea.

  3. Have you tried contacting the consular section at the numbers and hours shown here: http://www.thaiembassyuk.org.uk/?q=node/3

Hi if I am travelling around Thailand for 6 months to different meditation retreats and monasteries, would you know what I would put as my "proposed address" on the application form?

    Any address will suffice.

It will not be checked and you are free to go where you wish and stay wherever you like.

  4. After living in Thailand for several years, I moved to Vientiane - and I love it here. Everything here is easier, especially getting a visa. Although life is a bit more expensive here, Vientiane is a very westernized city. It would be easier for you and your family to make a life in Laos - as far as visas go - than for you to live in Thailand. Consider making the move - I'll never live in Thailand again. But, if you plan to marry, do it in Thailand - it is very difficult for a foreigner to marry a Lao girl in Laos - it is possible, but it can take months or years to get approval.

What kind of visa can you get in Laos that is easier than a retirement visa in Thailand?

There is no "retirement Visa" available in Thailand.

  5. This does not make much sense.

Do you actually have a visa?

What type of visa did you have prior to going to PP?

Did you have a reentry permit ?

They did not give you a Non "B" at the border.

The work permit is completely unrelated to anything which may be in your passport.

You may, of course, simply have a "stamping" error which can be easily corrected at an immigration office.
  6. I do not consider his post confusing. He wants to know

    1. Can he get a reentry permit from Thai immigration at the bridge in Nong Khai? (I think no, but unsure.)
    2. How long does it take to get a reentry permit from Udon Thani immigration? (No idea. Probably depends on when you are doing it. I would not depend on a quick in-out.)

    Thanks for the interpretation.

A pity the OP did not state what he was seeking as clearly as you have done on his behalf .

  7. Depends on your location. Some offices are doing it that way and others still require the paperwork. There is also online 90 day reporting if you aren't aware or not tried it yet.

sorry but thats off line now 90 day reporting on line in chiang mia is no more

Do you have evidence for that comment ?

    A formal, official statement perhaps?

I reckon this person is confusing online reporting with the online appointment system that CM have stopped.

Seems that "confusion" is a common state enjoyed by many of the expat community! coffee1.gif

  8. I have been living in Pattaya for 10 years, and have never had to do a 90 day report (I travel a lot). I'm now in a position where I will have to do one, mid October. Can I do it online, and if yes, can someone supply a link, and if not....do I need any paperwork, for my first report, or just my passport and arrival form?

    Thanks

All the info about on line 90 day reporting in the link

  9. The embassy in DC has only been doing two entry visas for some time now.

They now do three entry visas, but the validity is for only 3 months -- which makes the third entry worthless.

    Period of stay:

Single entry not exceeding 60 days

2 and 3 entries not exceeding 90 days (total)

Validity of a visa: The Validity of a visa is 3 months.

    http://thaiembdc.org/consular-services/tourist-visas/category-tr/

Portland's website doesn't indicate validity of their 2 or 3 entry tourist visa, but historically it's been valid for 6 months. Sekingco, was that your experience from Portland?

That site also shows error. With a 2/3 entry tourist visa only 60 days are given on entry.

1/2/3 entry tourist visa entries can be extended by 30 days per entry on application and payment of 1900Bht
