  1. I have no idea if Hanoi issue non-O visas .

However to secure an "O" visa based on retirement you will need to prove 800,000 Baht in a Thai Bank or an income of 65,000 baht/month income. For a visa based on marriage, the marriage certificate + a copy, copy of your wife's ID card and housebook

  2. The ICPC Certificate contains a person’s complete conviction history as recorded on UK police records, including ‘spent’ and ’unspent’ convictions. Additionally, the certificate contains foreign criminal history information where such information has been disclosed to the UK.

I would imagine the record you describe would prevent you working with children and may also prevent the issue of a visa and work permit.

  3. As AyG said, the addition of the second drug suggests that the doctor thinks the diarrhea may not be due to the amoeba.

Best advice I can give is to get a second opinion if the diarrhea persists. where do you live ?

We're thinking the same thing but wanted to see if the addition of the Suprax 100 helped her. She gets 5 ml every 24 hours. Tonight she had her second dose.

She doesn't appear dehydrated and she is drinking babylyte as well as being breast feed and eating most everything we eat. She is happy and energetic.

We are thinking that if tomorrow she still has diarear we will bring her to the pediatric emergency room at the International Medical Center in Jeddah.

You can look up and make an appointment with one of the IMC doctors here.

  4. Today I was refused non O. Thai visa Thai Embassy London.Sent proof of earnings above required amount.I am 62 years old. I was told to get a triple entry tourist visa.....

The London Embassy does not provide "O" visas to those not in receipt of a State Pension . This is nothing new.

You could , if you can meet the requirements, apply for an O-A(long stay).

The only other option is a tourist via

  5. This is the norm. They get an allowance to visit you at your home for any new application. However their expenses only cover the trip there by the cheapest means, ie; bus. In order for them to travel by pickup, they need money for fuel and food. This is similar to the BIB having to buy their own weapons, guns and transport.

The government doesn't pay enough for expenses, so this is the only way they won't be out of pocket.

I admit it's wrong but what does the government expect.

It's a one off and off-sets expenses. If however, the office is very close to your home then I would be pissed off as well.

Remember, this is the office you have to go to every year for re-newal. Don't bite the hand that feeds you and all that. Good luck.

No its not the norm. And the applicant is not required to pay more than 1,900 baht for an extension application. IF this IO has taken 3,000 baht without issuing a receipt to pay for "expenses" it's theft.

The OP's post needs to be taken with not a pinch of salt but a bucketful.

He claims "I just got back from applying for non im O at the Korat office."

If that is true how reliable is the remainder of his post?

  6. Although the Chiang Khong / Huay Xai crossing is very user friendly they normally only give 14 days re entering Thailand if it is a tourist visa being refreshed.

What? That does not make any sense at all. You mean they would take my double entry tourist visa and turn it into a 14 day stay somehow?

Honestly, are you sure about this? Perhaps some senior member can confirm or decline.

    It is nonsense.

If you have a valid visa it will be honored.

However, for those seeking a visa exempt entry 30 days are available to those from G7 countries and 15 days for others.

  7. I am going to Thailand for 4 months,I am married to a Thai lady. What is the best and cheapest visa or visas for me to get.Thank you in Advance .Nick

A single entry non "O visa followed by a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting your wife. Your wife will need to be present when the extension is applied for.

Or a double entry tourist visa which could provide up to a 6 month stay with one border crossing.

  8. You should not even consider self medicating a child so young.

Follow the Doctor's advice or obtain a second Medical opinion.

Despite what some other posters have said metronidazole (Flagyl) is used, legitimately, for the treatment of amebic dysentery.
