I don't know where in Canada you can get a PCR test for 3900thb, I had a test done in Ontario last month and it cost me $ 169.00 + tax and it was the cheapest one that I could fine. If there are something that you know and we don't, please let us know. Cheers.
Don't know how this happened

You know we've been poking fun at you guys for years. Toronto and Canada ... are NOT the same thing (Go Habs). ????

EVA was my go-to also. They may ease up in the new year. Hard to say as some new versions of the Delta variant seem to be popping up. TPE does not allow transitioning travellers and won't until they review at year end.
The only airline I found that works with almost direct flights (transit through Singapore) to Phuket is Singapore Air I think you could end up ok with a flight out of SFO to phuket or Bangkok, The flights out of the US have much less layover time than the ones out of Canada.

As per the others --- Yes to the booster. I go for my booster in 10 days.
The local medical authority seems to like a six month spacing

UPDATE
Found a response on my computer this morning. My Thailand pass has been approved.
So, overall it took less than 48 hours for consulate STV visa approval and less than 24 hours for the Thailand Pass approval.
I have to say that for me at least there has been an incredibly efficient response.

Dug this up:
New Proof Of Cash Requirement For All Tourists Entering Thailand
As of 19th February 2010, all tourists entering Thailand are now required to have a minimum of 10,000 Thai Baht in cash on their person when they go through Immigration
All tourists entering Thailand now need to be able to show that they have a minimum amount of money on their person before they are allowed through Immigration.
The amounts vary for different visas:
1. Transit Visa holder: Must hold minimum THB 10,000 per passenger or THB 20,000 per family.
2. Tourist Visa holder: Must hold minimum THB 20,000 per passenger or THB 40,000 per family.
3. Visa on Arrival: Must hold minimum THB 10,000 per passenger or THB 20,000 per family.
4. Non Immigrant Visa holder: Must hold minimum THB 20,000 per passenger or THB 40,000 per family. Most tourists come to Thailand and get a visa on arrival (technically a visa waiver) so will be required to hold 10,000 Baht. This money can be in an equivalent foriegn currency, but it must be in cash – no credit cards are accepted as proof of funds.
I actually got asked - Once.

Visa Online
I first changed all the required files to PDF format and sent in everything on Monday evening. Approval came back Wednesday afternoon. (happy thoughts)
I spent the balance of this afternoon changing everything from PDF to jpeg. Sent my Thailand pass registration off this afternoon. Received back an acknowledgement of my form, and notice that the process may take up to seven days. They also sent an access code to enable me to check on progress. (hopeful happy thoughts)
For the most part other than the really odd formatting requirements this has worked just like real computer sh3te should. We'll see how the pass works over the next week.

If I were on the cusp of a Swedish winter I'd be rushing out for tickets to Thailand as well.
Well, I'm on the cusp of a Canadian winter and I just bought tickets yesterday. Application in embassy and have yet not had the pleasure of addressing the Thailand pass. Looking forward to finding out what shape the apartments in. and having a San Mig beverage with friends (well spaced) at Tiggers.
Got everything crossed

Have been putting together the files for a new visa. Hmm, this has turned out to be a bit trickier than I thought it would and I haven't even reached the Thailand pass part yet.
I think I may have made a mistake around page 146 where the instruction were to upload in PDF format the files they insisted be in jpeg format.
I think they may have taken Joeseph Hellers books too much to heart.
I'm having a "be one with the universe grasshopper" moment.

Don't know but it's irritating as hell. I think the Baht is up about 4% on the CAD.
Maybe other people believe TAT figures??

Well spotted, 2.8 metres high ceiling, so maybe go for 12000.
Prudent, a little bit of excess capacity isn't a bad thing. A bigger unit does not necessarily mean meat locker temps. A setting of 26c is still 26c no matter how big the unit is. Within limits it just means shorter run times.
Take Care

Agree with Crossy. The 9000 will work well and you have a manufacturer that you like already..
Are you sure about the 2.2 height? Just strikes me as a little low

You can thank Charlie for that link.
I just lifted it because I thought it was brilliant and right on point in this thread.

Agree. Pull most of them out from under their rock and they get pretty quiet and docile though.
Sorta like this

Ohh Gawd,
I do hope the government doesn't take too much notice. If they realize that there is an easier way to separate a foreign person from his/her money we are in the deep doodoo. Never mind the petty grifts they are used to pulling

It's a wait and see for me. Until a clear, no bs, policy is in place, i will wait it out.
Could be a long time till that happens. Winnipeg could even start to thaw out before that happens.

Yeah, I agree. I have to admit that I bought a couple of wife beaters just for those times I wanted to disguise myself as an auzzie ..... mate.

The Multi Entry Tourist Visa is still available in some countries, I just got one in Denmark. Much easier than the STV that I got last year.
I just went and checked .... not Canada

The old six month Tourist Visa ( w/ Multiple Entry) was the best. Literally no need for these Longstay Visitor Visa Grubs. No dealings at all with Local Immigration. Euro 140 each from Thai Rome or London or Madrid Embassies where I have Residence.
Yeah, but it was useful and gave immigration only very limited opportunities for "Revenue Enhancements". It had to be stopped.

2nd. UPDATE
Just got another email from Thailand pass. Apparently they no longer have my information and require me to confirm my Date of Birth, Date of Arrival, Date of Vaccine.
The Thai pass program doesn't allow me to get back to the information section. just says can't re-edit information and kicks me out.
So now I've gone from approved to ............ ???
The level of competence shown here is truly frightening.
