2023 .... If the government proceeds with intelligence, empathy and speed. We know what the odds of that are.
Default the payments for the submarine and the new airplane. Let them sue. Use the 1.7 billion baht freed up to buy effective vaccine. Don't siphon off the top twenty two percent as "tea money". Stop exporting your rice and use it to feed your people. Do this as a start and you might not come back as a "cucaracha" in the next life.
Stop killing your people
Just a thought

It's a bit of a process but it has a proven track record..
1 Sit down and have two Guinness's while you ponder the path forward.
2 Put on your bright emerald green jacket. (That Augusta National Winners jacket in your closet is quite suitable)
3 Practise waving your Shillelagh about quite actively.
Have one more Guinness. Have another Guinness if you actually had a Shillelagh about
4 Walk around the garden intoning an ancient Celtic curse of Banishment while continuing to wield the Shillelagh in an aggressive manner.
Have two more Guinness. ... it's thirsty work
5 Now, a big finish with a Christian prayer of exorcism as you force the reptiles to abandon the garden under threat
from the Shillelagh
Definitely one more Guinness to ease the pain of a parched throat..
This might seem a bit of a bother and far fetched, but it worked a marvel for the Irish. There hasn't been a serpent there for twelve hundred years.
You know I do believe that there's just a tech of Guinness about and it would be a shameful thing not to use all the ingredients of such a marvelous curse.
In the name of the Lord me son -------------- Finish the Guinness!

All these preparations are based on the assumption of many tourists wanting to come to and quarantine at a "sandbox paradise" albeit a paradise that pretty well has closed down. A fourteen day quarantine in a country that does not have the desire/capability to address and blunt a fourth wave of the Delta and Delta plus variant may not be to everyone's taste.
I have watched with sorrow as the infection rate has gone from a few hundred per day to over five thousand per day. I felt trapped when I had to return to Canada when it had thousands of cases per day. In a race with the delta variant fourth wave Canada has gone from thousands of cases per day to several hundred per day. I no longer feel trapped here but I still wish to return to Thailand. Something about Thailand has grasped my heart and I now feel like the Farang in my own country.
Foreign governments don't say Phukets fine but Bangkok is in a covid red zone and Hua Hin is .... They normally just say "don't go to Thailand" . I do hope the government in Bangkok can perform an abrupt change of course and effect a competent and inclusive Vaccine roll out.
I want to come back (home)

There might be a silver lining in this huge pile of coprolite.
Since these hundreds of thousands of people will be getting their slave bracelets on arrival why not put them to work doing slave labour. Cleaning the beaches of oil balls and plastics. Eight hours of cleaning gets you an extra day off of quarantine.
Take 500 of them and set them up as oarsmen on the submarine. Worked for the Romans. All's good till the captain wants to water ski.
Ahh, the sun is over the yardarm. TTFN

Just a thought that occurred when I was talking to a friend in Phuket today. She mentioned that it would be slow opening because most of the working staff had gone back to the family in Isan when Phuket shut down. The government has not really vaccinated heavily in Isan instead in places like Phuket.
If the hotels and other venues actually have to open soon won't that mean the return of thousands of unvaccinated Thai workers right into the middle of the "safe Phuket sandbox". What is the plan for vaccinating the returning workers?

Bleach, warm water and a stiff brush will work well. Paint afterward if you so desire (anti fungal paint suggested) I find that wetting rags with the bleach mixture and laying them on the area of concern for 15 minutes helps. It seems to kill the fungus and everything brushes off easily.
Pressure washers work well but be careful. Many of the current ones are powerful enough to strip the seal and the top layer off of the concrete. You can easily do quite a bit of damage and concrete work is expensive to refinish.

What will happen when the gamma variant is discovered? This could go on forever!
Actually the gamma variant has been around for a while. It's the one first identified in Brazil.
Nothing goes on forever ..... maybe my ex.
I'm hoping that it does an "Andromeda Strain" and continues to mutate until it finally leaves the host alive.
Meantime, you should have a beer.

The most recent Scottish studies show that people contracting the Delta variant have approximately twice the chance of requiring hospitalization than those that contracted the Alpha variant.. It will become the dominant variant wherever it is and it's now in 62 countries. My current country of abode along with Thailand and many other countries are easing restriction and opening up their societies. This when the Delta is rising. Hell may be coming for breakfast.
Increased hospitalization rates means increased ICU rates means increased death rates. Please .... someone explain to me where I'm wrong.
I've a horrid feeling that 3.83 million deaths isn't close to the end. I do hate being "a nabob of negativity" because there is some goodish news but I'm too depressed to mention it right now.

I have Epsons and use the Blue windex glass cleaner and Q-tips. While the process is a bit different than grins' we end up in the same place. I think just follow his procedure and you should be be able to confirm that you got a bargain.
I have spent over a year away at a time and found that soaking it overnight was necessary to reliquify the ink. Just saying
Good luck

("An upbeat health and deputy prime minister Anutin Charnvirakul declared yesterday that there was plenty of vaccine against Covid-19 for everyone.")
Reminds me in some ways of statements from the American "cowboy philosopher" Will Rogers. He'd said that there was plenty of ice for everyone. The poor got their ice during the winter time and the rich got their ice during the summer.
The main difference seems to be that "I believed Will Rogers".'

What a good discussion !!! ????
I will have to agree with the gentlemen that suggest large cell capacity cells.
1. A lot of small cells connected together is a lot of connections.
2. Each connection is a potential failure point
3. Murphy was an optimist

Publicity stunt
Yes, but a very effective one. For 6,000 baht he has shown everyone (from the lowest peasant to the Prime Minister) in the country that they must obey this law. That is an amazing level of effectiveness for a government department. Kudos
For those lower than the lowest peasants (expats) take heed, for the full weight of the 20,000 baht fine may come your way.

One theory on blood clots is they are not pulling back on the needle to check to see if they are in a vein so some people are getting injected partly intravenous.
I signed up for the moderna but got the JJ 6 weeks ago tomorrow. I have mixed feelings as it is showing 70% effective rather than 95% for Pfizer. But I guess all the top 3 prevent death. But I still worry a 30% of getting the virus and the long term damage some doctors are finding.
I feel confident in the progress of genetic science and understand enough to think mRNA technology is sound.
I think anti vax people are stupid.
The vaccine isn't injected into a vein, it is intramuscular, just popped into your arm muscle.
Don't worry about the efficacy variation of the J & J. They had their main trials in Britain, South Africa and Brazil during the height of the variants. Pfizer and Moderna completed their tests before the rise of the variants. Scientists expect the Pfizer Moderna and J & J jabs to be roughly equal in the real variant rich world.
As far as the J & J blood clots go, (the 1 in 500,000 chance) they have ALL happened to women between the ages of 18 to 58. Basically Puberty to Menopause. They will I'm sure come up with reasons why in due course. If you fall into these gender/age range and are nervous, the MRNA vaccines do not have this restriction. If you must take the J & J or the AZ check with the doctor for symptoms to be aware of.
Stay positive ... Test negative

(Familiar expressions such as "we are brothers of the Chinese" were mentioned as the Chinese appeared to be using tourism as a bargaining chip.)
Ahh yes, the heartwarming story of brothers.
This one reminds me more of "Cain and Abel" though

I do it out of Canada. Don't use my bank exchange rates anymore. Get a quote from OFX on a transfer to your Thai bank account.. OFX ships Baht to my account. Bangkok bank charges me 200 THB for the international transaction.
I find the OFX rates to be a few points better than my banks. Your experiences may differ
Good luck

I've done some info mining and it appears that the Auzzie article deriding the efficacy of the Astrazeneca vaccine was wrong. I'm quite pleased that I (and the author of the article) were full of misinformation (aka bull3it). It seems to be particularly effective with seniors. Astz should be given North American release inside a week and J & J should be cleared within two weeks.
We can use all the weapons we can gather. We have a planet to inoculate.

Towards the top of the page there should be a little flag icon (just above the cart symbol). Click it. It will have three sections, first specifying what country you want to ship to. Second specifying what language you want to use. Third specifies what currency you want to pay in.
You can change any of these with a click or two
Hope this helps
