Hi,
It is a Canadian bank statement needed. The bank won't give a guarantee of future deposits but will give a statement of existing facts. You can easily word a statement to the banks and the consulates satisfaction.
Am doing the same routine that you are but have altered it a bit to arrive home from Europe at the end of June. Have no desire to spend any of the seven months of winter in Canada.
If you have any questions, PM me

I am talking to people who are there right now and they are saying it is getting more and more busy daily. Restaurants more busy, hotels filling up etc. More and more people on the beaches. Not locals, pasty white foreigners with blond hair and blue eyes. It's still ultra low rainy season btw so the big numbers haven't even started yet.
Interesting. Which part of the island are you talking about? My friends in Kamala who are looking after my place have a somewhat less rosy report on the conditions. Of course they aren't concerned about someone being on the beach, they're more concerned about who has had to go bankrupt and close down.
I admit that everyone is happy that they can now drive to Patong without encountering another vehicle. Just proves "If you don't go on the road you don't become a road death statistic"
Ahhhh, I had to lower the yardarm but the sun is now over it. Ta for now.

Does this mean that when I'm deworming the cattle this fall I should use a Pfizer or Moderna vaccine shot on them? Stromectol hard to get here, damm stupid city fools have bought a large part of the supply that cattlemen need.
Here a statement from the company that makes it.
"KENILWORTH, N.J., Feb. 4, 2021 – Merck (NYSE: MRK), known as MSD outside the United States and Canada, today affirmed its position regarding use of ivermectin during the COVID-19 pandemic. Company scientists continue to carefully examine the findings of all available and emerging studies of ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19 for evidence of efficacy and safety. It is important to note that, to-date, our analysis has identified:
- No scientific basis for a potential therapeutic effect against COVID-19 from pre-clinical studies;
- No meaningful evidence for clinical activity or clinical efficacy in patients with COVID-19 disease, and;
- A concerning lack of safety data in the majority of studies.
We do not believe that the data available support the safety and efficacy of ivermectin beyond the doses and populations indicated in the regulatory agency-approved prescribing information."

How can you reform what does not exist?
Transparency would mean all high level police officers would have to make complete financial disclosures with a complete list of assets and sources of income, with independent auditors checking that the filings are accurate. Does anyone expect to see that?
No shy{te Sherlock. I agree with everything you say. As part of the reform I'd also like the local constabulary to take a basic civics/accounting class in rudimentary ways to partially hide the the proceeds of their unrelenting greed and corruption. Flaunting it makes it sooo difficult to portray any of the force as upstanding civil servants.

This works for most things, in any foreign countries.
How would you react if in , say, Vancouver BC standing right on the kerb on a normal street and a car stopped because they thought you wanted to cross?
I'd know they weren't stopping for me, just looking for a parking spot

What about this? I have to go back to the hospital for blood tests and prescription adjustments/refills every 3 months, and the wife and I have been led to believe that we can only get my meds at the hospital pharmacy. I'm currently taking about 22 tabs a day. The hospital is Srinagarend in Khon Kaen.
Can/should I get my prescriptions filled outside at any major pharmacy for cheaper?
I suggest you check with the pharmacies as a first step. Show them the pills. I was unable to get my prescription for statins filled anywhere but the hospital. Hope your experience is different

But for what reason? Besides pure profit?
There are very good valid reasons. Just look at how much a merc or a porsche have gone up since 2010!!

If it actually matters to anyone, the US FDA has just issued complete approval for the Pfizer covid vaccine.

Exactly this..... I am on my 3rd return to Thailand (since the outbreak) - First two were ASQ (15 nights and 10 nights) - this time is is 14 nights Sandbox and a much more palatable prospect than being locked up in a hotel room.
It's also much nicer being able to spend the same amount of money on a pool villa than a hotel room in Bangkok. The prospect of being free to go to restaurants, go to the beach, rent a motorcycle and ride around and even go to a bar for a few beers makes the outlook potentially enjoyable.
Additionally, there also the prospect of bringing my family down to stay with me during the Sandbox quarantine (if Phuket opens up to domestic tourism at that time).
But... None of the above ‘improves’ things for Thailand, for myself and returnees like myself all the Sandbox has done is ‘divert’ the money from ASQ hotels in Bangkok to hotels in Phuket. That said, local restaurants etc may recognise a very minor benefit but I am under no illusion that ‘Sandboxers’ are making any notable financial contribution to the local economy - the numbers of Sandbox arrivals are just too small.
As an experiment the Sandbox scheme has shown that Vaccinated and PCR tested international arrivals do not present a covid risk to Thailand - Thus, from this perspective the scheme is a success, but only if Thailand can avoid the ‘pathetic discussions’ and act intelligently solely on results by opening up completely to vaccinated international arrivals.
We are sooo screwed.

They seem to be talking about the quarantine that the tourist has to do when they go home after visiting a Covid hotspot like Thailand, not during the visit TO Thailand.
It's a shame your hero, the self declared Covid Czar wasn't smart enough to buy vaccines for the inhabitants of the country. The place would be open to domestic tourism by now and even foreign tourists might have wanted to visit. We'd all be free to go about our daily business. But alas, he didn't have even the limited amount of intelligence required to work out that the way out of this was to vaccinate everyone. So here we are, in lockdown, hundreds of people dying every day, the economy in tatters.
Gawd!! You're waaay too optimistic.

What an nonsense - travel to a country with one million travel restrictions!? For waht purpose? Look at beaches which are closed from their hotel rooms? Hide from police while taking some vine? Wear masks while feeding the beggards?
The reality is: fresh info - Aeroflot cancelled all flights to Thailand today, they say probably will resume flights in November.
Thailand was only desirable as travel destination because it was cheap and easy to get in. Not anymore - so why?
I more or less agree but February in Vladivostok can make one wade through a lot of restrictions to be in Phuket.
The Russians remember their history. Aeroflot cancelled their flights not on account of covid but because Afghanistan is an active combat zone at the present time. They won't be opening them up again until November at the earliest. The last time the Russians flew over Afghanistan in any numbers, they developed a great respect for the stinger SA missle.

Just tell the locals that they're lucky that the police general (WTH are police doing with generals??) didn't try to fly the submarine in.

Can't compare the two because I don't know the Lenovo.
I do know that my Acer Swift has been banging around the world with me for a few years and has operated flawlessly. I would not be without it.

They got me on a new scam. I have ordered the same shaver 5 times from different merchants on Lazada and each time after 2 or 3 weeks of waiting they cancel it. I try to chat with the vendors but they don't respond. I think it's the old bait and switch deal but I don't know for sure. I am going to keep ordering the same shaver and see if I can set some kind of record for times cancelled. Update - they just cancelled again. I'm in chat with a supplier to ask if they have it in stock as it shows in their ad

This really is unfortunate. Unintended consequences. The ban seemed to shut up the TAT at least.
I see we're already getting inundated with alarms from all the BS alert programs.
Millions of tourists and trillions of baht spent.

They might have been "real police" but they weren't doing "real police" business. They're doing it for a cut of whatever they can squeeze out of the lady.
I don't believe the banks here still sell off their "bad debt write off lists" but some of the sleazier finance companies most likely still do.

It's a variation on a scam. The debt write-off may have been sold as part of a bulk buy to some collection agency or just scammers got into old records Financial institutions regularly sell their old write-offs. It gives them a few cent back on stuff that should be run through shredders and garbaged. What the scammers are doing is illegal. If they come back ... phone the police. You have a phone number for one of the scammers now. Give that to the police.
Around here the call centers in Mumbai are still doing a booming business threatening Canadians with jail time for unpaid taxes. But they might give you a break if you send bitcoin -- Now!.

American news just announced Thai riots and forced government minister resignations along with another record day of covid cases. No details given
Is this anything I can actually inquire about or do I have to limit my conversation to how the mangosteen crop is ripening???

Think it's a 2018, 2019 or 2020 Can-am Sea to Sky. The 2021's are running about 36K (CAD) all tricked out. I suspect the heated seats wouldn't be a big attraction in LOS.
