Report Thailand Tightens Cannabis Laws, Dispensaries Must Transform
Ebumbu replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Yup. I was there. If you had any prescription for anything, you'd get it. You were supposed to bring SOME kind of medical documentation. Here, there will be a witch doctor with a bone through their nose. -

How many high-tech labs do you think the local police have to isolate and measure this one chemical in relationship to the total gross weight? I'm going to guess zero. However, this being Thailand, they arrest you for the crime and YOU have to prove it was .2%.

This sounds absurd -- I am well aware -- but he really should spend some days with Chat GPT, explaining symptoms and test results. It's incredibly informed about medical stuff. OK, flame away. It also has a "deep research" feature, which usually delivers shockingly insightful results. I'm thinking parasitic infection from his look. wasting away but has a distended abdomen. An accurate diagnosis would be interesting to find out. There's also telehealth, all over the world, including Japan. Make some hour-long appointments to present all known data. A local, village hospital might not have the best diagnostic abilities. Good luck. At least his wife hasn't left him.

BREAKING NEWS Thailand delays some requirements of new cannabis rules

So this PM or whatever he is just says, "now it's illegal" and he can bypass the Parliament and get it published in The Royal Gazette? I'm genuinely curious. I don't know how it works in real life. Are you saying that the PM makes believe there is no system in place for creating a new law or amending the old one and everyone goes along with that? -

It's crazy cheap now. The whole setup would be under 5000 baht. Lights, tent, fans, nutes, timer. Biggest cost would be the genetics. I'd look for landrace master kush! So, if that's the route I must go, I'll reignite a nice hobby. If you use 150w LED, it's not going to get very hot. Just move very close to the plant. It won't burn. I checked prices on Lazada. Quite cheap for everything. -

They are going to include traditional Thai medical practitioners." So, herbalists. There is no licensing for that, or if there is, it's a short course and a low-paid job. They will also include pharmacists, I have heard. Maybe astrologists, chiropractors, and certified (by whomever) life coaches! -
BREAKING NEWS Thailand delays some requirements of new cannabis rules

So I grow my own and avoid all this bull<deleted> or not? Happy to do so. Everything is quite cheap and practical now: grow tent, LED lights (avoid excess heat and energy), feminized seeds. Simple. Water once a day after checking PH. Add your nutes. Buy a fan. How would BIB know if I grew my own stash or bought it? If home grown is legal, then how much? Can I throw it all in a giant bucket and say I grew it and be legal? So much is unclear, and just ignored. -

This plant is legal. Does this article claim that making this plant illegal again does not require approval of the Thai parliament? Is Thailand a democracy or not? If it is, then parliament must vote on this before it can be submitted to the Royal Gazette. Is this guy trying to do an end run around Parliament? How does he get away with being a one-man lawmaker?- 90 replies

Report Thai Cannabis Industry Faces Chaos Amid Political Shifts
Ebumbu replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I am reading now that this is just a proposal, like a bill. It must be passed by two houses of parliament before it can be passed on to the Royal Gazette and become law. So, this is still a proposal ... not a law. It's not a done deal. A lot of Thai merchants are going to be desperate and furious. They will make their voices heard. The amount of revenue to be lost is staggering. I just bought many ounces online while the gettin's good. The proposal has not been submitted to parliament yet. It could take weeks or months to be reviewed. But, taking no chances. This plant is absolutely medicine. So is love, sunlight, exercise, and good diet. Preventive medicine is still looked upon with derision by corporate medicine. Corporate medicine is controlled by corporate pharma. There's no profit to be made from broccoli. No patent. Shareholders not happy. "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food" — Hippocrates, the father of medicine Legal cannabis was a top-10 perk of living here, as I see it. It's simply civilized. Look at Canada. They are not going crazy with "weed fiends." Quite the opposite. Ganja helps make tough times easier and it enhances good times. Cannabis has been my plant ally since childhood. Precious and sacred plant. "Dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope!” — Phineas Freak -
Report Thai Cannabis Industry Faces Chaos Amid Political Shifts

It's not reversed, it was always supposed to be medical use only. All use is medical use. Our bodies and minds need relaxation and recreation for optimal health. We lead stressful lives. Anything that can help us to relax and reduce stress promotes health. It activates our parasympathetic nervous system, which is when healing happens. Recreational use is medical use. To reduce health to an absence of 10-12 diseases is ridiculous, arbitrary, and out of step with modern medicine.- 10 replies

Report New Cannabis Regulation: Prescription Required for Sales
Ebumbu replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
When are they going to set up this licensing bull<deleted>? When will they publish to the Royal Gazette? I assume they are closing down all dispensaries and it will take them like a year to figure out how to get a licensing scheme in place. I'm stocking up, to put it mildly. Chronic pain, muscle spasms, joint pain, nausea, insomnia, anxiety. If I report this, does my insurance company see this? Do I get dropped potentially by insurance? I doubt it. But god know. Are there going to be monthly limits? What are they? Can I pick my strain? This is so backward thinking. Alcohol is fine. Bars everywhere. But this is somehow more dangerous. Oh, and I can get kratom, which is basically an opiate. I can buy that online. But cannabis is somehow worse. Oh, and they dusted off the old "cannabis addiction" mythology. We're back in the bad old days of Anslinger. Thais don't know the American history of cannabis prohibition. Same propaganda, different language. Anyway, where do I get the stupid license? /rant -

You got the list? I mean, isn't pain on the list? I need major joint surgery. There is pain. I need a joint replaced (no pun intended). This is not adequate? They're really going to require we're dying of cancer? This place has really taken a step back to the 1950s. Very disgusting. I'm going on a ganja run today. I'm going to fill my <deleted> hatchback with it. -

My back ache triggers my insomnia. Anyway, it will be pure bull<deleted>. You can say you can't get a boner and they'll give it to you (it does help with that, actually). They are going to have "traditional Thai healers" dispensing prescriptions. So, they will read your chakras or past lives and provide the medicine. It's about control, but mostly about revenue for those who have been missing out. In California, before recreational use became legal, you could say anything and you'd walk out with a 1 year prescription. You pay, the doctors talks to you 5 minutes. And you leave. And lo and behold, there are cannabis shops all around the medical office. -

Is this a done deal then? If so, just an extra tax on cannabis. You get a BS doctor script you have to pay for. Just extra nonsense. "Oh, I have a back ache." Will try to stock up now, if this is inevitable.
