  1. It always mystifies me to see someone so concerned about sexual assault, yet displaying an avatar like yours. The level of mental compartmentalization required is truly impressive.
  2. There are four acknowledged genders here (male, female, kathoey, and tomboy). Thailand is more socially advanced that the US when it comes to gender identity, and probably many other areas. Live and let live. If trans women did use men's bathrooms, there would be actual assaults against them, not hypothetical assaults involving "fake" kathoeys.
  3. Sound like a delightful seafood restaurant. Better trademark it. Turds and Tampons Sunday buffet!
  4. Getting married means never having to say you're sari.
  5. He should have used more powerful cannabis for the escape. Mr. Tilapia came from my dinner plate.
  6. Trump wouldn't last 4 years. Thus, the man who is so noxious that his real first name must never be spoken, will become president.
  7. Legal. Less than .04% THC.
  8. Hell, I can buy that amount on this site's sponsor for about 20,000 baht! 🙂
  9. Well, since I have to pay taxes now in Thailand, I'll be able to vote on this soon, right? 🙂
  10. .2% flower and you might as well be smoking marigolds. What's the point? If you're going to call it medicine and prohibit recreational use, then you need medical-grade cannabis and a way of testing its potency and cannabinoid profile. .2% THC?? I'll smoke catnip first. With my cats.
  11. He says worse than that. He calls his opponents and critics "traitors." This crime is punishable by death. What message does that send to his millions of followers? The technical name for what Trump does is stochastic terrorism. You keep your own hands clean and have your followers do your bidding by using violent rhetoric while never specifically calling for violence. It's what led to Jan 6th.
  12. I called it yesterday. Predictable. Trump is claiming Dems and the "deep state" are behind the assassination attempts. This is stochastic terrorism from two very small men (who hate women, but wear bronzer, hair dye, and eyeliner) and who wish to be powerful. In the case of Trump, he's running to avoid prison. "Trump blames Biden and Harris for apparent assassination attempt." https://edition.cnn.com/2024/09/16/politics/video/trump-responsibility-rhetoric-blame-threats-attacks-cupp-tsr-digvid "Trump blames Biden and Harris’ rhetoric toward him despite his own history of going after rivals" https://apnews.com/article/trump-harris-2024-election-assassination-attempt-836523f3bbecf4a183dc46fbefd8230a "Trump blames ‘rhetoric’ of Biden, Harris for possible assassination attempt" https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/09/16/trump-blames-biden-harris-rhetoric-potential-assassination-attempt/
  13. And destruction of norms. Of the Constitution. Of civility. Of the rule of law. Of the peaceful transition of power. Of international stability. Of Democracy. Of public health. If reelected, there will be no guardrails. He found a VP that's even more self-serving and unprincipled than he is. Once, Vance called Trump "America's H*tler." It's on video. Trump is responsible for almost having his last VP hanged. It's incredible to watch this madness unfold. What were the crowds chanting? "Hang Mike Pence!" The Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 sets the agenda: remove career government officials and replace them with fanatical Trump loyalists at all levels. It would be more than chaos. No one would be able to say "no" to the tyrant because the supreme court has decided he is above prosecution, as long as it's an official act. Now, he really could kill someone on Fifth Avenue, as he famously claimed, and get away with it. This racist stuff he spews is right from the playbook of every authoritarian who ever existed.
  14. Soon, Trump and Vance will claim that "they" are once again trying to silence him. Who are "they"? Anyone who opposes Trump. On the campaign trail, Vance has suggested that "they" tried to silence Trump through impeachment, the courts, and now, through assassination attempts. This tactic is known as stochastic terrorism—political violence incited through inflammatory public rhetoric. It's the same kind of rhetoric that led to the events of January 6th. According to Wikipedia, “the public figure can plausibly deny responsibility for any subsequent attacks because their words were not an explicit call for violence, and there is no direct link between the instigator and the attacker. This is the key distinction between stochastic terrorism and other forms of terrorism.” Trump frequently describes his opponents as guilty of "treason"—a crime punishable by death. This is not typical political discourse; it's stochastic terrorism. By labeling his enemies as traitors, Trump is fueling a dangerous narrative. It would surely be better for Trump to be removed at the ballot box, not by bullets. Fortunately, it seems evermore likely as he makes more frequent disordered, fantasy statements like, "They're eating the dogs!" This is also stochastic terrorism, as he's targeted a specific minority group (Haitians) in the two small towns. They are at risk for their lives now. It's a kind of blood libel, since pets are seen as family members. "The stereotyping of Haitians as savage pet-eaters could lead to a rise in racial violence, experts warn. In Springfield, bomb threats have already led to the closure of city hall and schools. Additionally, Republicans have seized on the tragic death of an 11-year-old boy—killed in a bus crash involving a Haitian immigrant—to further demonize the Haitian community. Nathan Clark, the boy’s father, has pleaded with Trump and Vance to stop exploiting his son’s name for political gain." — The Guardian
  15. I will be throwing this mess at a Thai/US accountant and saying "Deal with it."
  16. Life is so much easier when you don't commit 15 sexual assaults and rape.
  17. Mental illness and other drugs had nothing to do with it! Propaganda.
  18. Turkey has cats everywhere. They are adored, chubby, and happy. Everyone cares for them. Hell, it's featured in their tourist commercials. Turkey is a cat sanctuary. Killing dogs and coddling cats is racist!
  19. Everything. I'm not entirely clear about your answer. Therefore, I need an accountant. I have one bookmarked. Any recommendations? I'd better hand this off. Thanks for advice, but taxes is clearly not my song suit. Best to know what I don't know. Let some accountant find all the loopholes.
  20. I was going to post nearly this exact sentiment. But you can't change minds warped by cruelty, anger, or hate. Anyway who wants dogs to suffer in intense heat can't be reasoned with. Yeah, a lot of angry people on this forum. Nevertheless, useful information from time to time.
  21. Definitely what? Are you saying I'll be taxed on income I've already paid US income tax on? That would indeed be unacceptable.
  22. If I'm already taxed in the US, I believe there's a treaty against double taxation in Thailand, no? So, I think Thailand can only tax the "foreign earned income" part of my income, which is exempt fro US taxes. Am I on the wrong track? Anyway, I've bookmarked a couple Bangkok accounting firms. There will be loopholes just like there are with visas. I'm not giving Thai authorities access to my US bank accounts. Can they demand to see my US tax returns? Wonder how they will implement and manage this giant scheme. Spending half the year in Vietnam would be a gigantic pain.
  23. He got away reasonably cheap, actually. But wiring her money before meeting and greeting is just silly. I spent 10 days with my honey before returning to my country. After returning, I put her through school, rented her house, and paid for her rental car. When I look at emails from the time, I cringe. "I will always be there for you. You are my soul mate." I think nearly everyone goes through this at least once. Fool me once.
