  1. As I mentioned before, there are quite a good amount of Thai teachers that have poor professionalism.

But what makes it quite prevalent in schools here is that there is this group culture or collectivism. And if staff bully kids often or waste the entire time having kids just watch YouTube videos via the classroom TV normally, it will be that way without much objection anyone.

I remind myself, of how glad I am I didn't go to school here...

You can drink whatever you want in your hotel, or resort room.

The owners of a resort should have some rights, don't you think? Even when 500 baht is way too much, but that's done to keep such people out.

Yeah, I respect that fee for bringing in ones' own drink. However, IMO, it is an inconvenience. This guy was correct to post negative reviews despite his childishness.

  3. Some of those Sarasas schools not to mention many government schools seem to have cult like Filipino teachers.

Often times, there is a very group like culture within these schools. If the norm is to bully kids or flirt with colleagues outside of work it's fine as long as everyone is doing it. Normally, amongst Thais or Filipinos the first one to bring spotlight on the issue will be the first one to leave.

I think they were correct to have this guy arrested, he attempted to destroy their reputation based on his own ignorance at a time when business is already bad and ignored all attempts at contact.

I've met people like this guy before and believe me, I've considered having them arrested but I've refrained so far.

Petty. Plenty of petty Euros in Thailand.

Not being able to bring in me own drink is an inconvenience! Na!

    Have always been!

No wonder why it all goes down the drain now, when the generation in power grew up with this

Yeah those Boomers, hell, even those over 45 that received many social program benefits make up a big majority of those being against 'freebies' or 'handouts.' These people are not only bootlickers but have did a disservice to their children.

We can see how powerful that TV box is in your house, particularly, how much it has impacted those over 45 and in lock step with corporate TV. Which often shames the poor without remembering the past.

Don't be fooled by centrists. Taking to the streets is what is needed for change. FDR provided the American People with many benefits, to be taken away by the lobbyists and corporate politicians. Both DEM and REP.

  6. Very insightful thread, I appreciate it. I only knew the regular word for gossip.

One thing is for sure, I can't read Thai, but I can speak it quite well and understand it. Whew, the extent that Thai folks talk about each other let alone foriegners, is quite shocking. Real petty, matters.

It's like some of them need someone to just be like 'Take it easy and worry about your damn self.' Ha   #Asia

There are lots of different types of mango

Yeah, albeit, many, one is reffered to as 'Cambodian Mango' or 'Matmuang Camin.'  I like the light yellow ones but I need to improve on selection skills for sweetness!

The mangos in the states seemed to be more round & with some redness from what I remember compared to here.

  8. Just a reminder as my guess is the majority of folks on ThaiVisa are European Whites..

    Black Lives Matter...

The struggle of the poor in the US is and will be the same struggle for all in the future. This has been seen throughout history and without people going to the streets there won't be change. FTP too.

Well said. For instance I have a 1 year visa for Savannakhet but I must leave every 90 days. I can leave but it might be very difficult and very slow to come back to live in my home with my Thai wife. The 2,000 per month allowed to enter Thailand by marriage  isn't going to go far.

But there are always the agents as an option.

The lack of empathy from some posters make me think they drink vinegar instead of water.

Something tells me a majority of those 'posters' are propbably English/British..

The grassy are quite green in Thailand. ????
