  1. One of the most fun events I have ever tried. I ran my first one in the Philippines near San Franando La Union in 1989. What a blast. You don't even need to be a seasoned runner to participate. Great fun for everyone, including the family helping out.

What area of Ubon is the event scheduled to take place. What villages?

As said in post 1, the start point is at the South East corner of Huai Wang Nong, which is the big lake/dam on the east side of the city/airport.............biggrin.png

  2. John Clements suggested to me that the Royal Development Study Centre at Sakhon Nakon could possibly be a good venue for a meeting (they have an English web-site so Google it to check it out). John and I are planning on visiting the place during the first week in December to find out if they would be able to give us a tour with English and Thai speaking guides. We'll also check out nearby resorts capable of providing food, accommodation and somewhere to socialise.

I thought that a suitable date for the next meeting would be around 26 January 2013, subject to the Study Centre availability. I know that is Australia Day, but how many of you Ozzies would be going elsewhere that would prevent you attending. It's also the day after Rabbie Burn's birthday and most Burn's Suppers will be on 26 January too, so any Scots could come in their kilts with the Ozzies in their national dress as well (whatever their national dress is - jump suits maybe?).

Any comments regarding this idea and/or the suggested date before we go to see them? Russell (Aussieruss) will have to wait until meeting number 8 which will probably be in April if we continue to follow a 3 monthly cycle as we have done to date.

The Bangkok and Ubon hashers will have a joint run (and more) in Kong Chiam on Saturday 26/1 - 2013, so another date - perhaps 1/2 -2013 would be good. biggrin.png

  3. Had a good time! Thanks to TV, Raro, Baz, FC and Korat Chef, - (I especially enjoyed the samosas!) thumbsup.gif

Good to see Yorkie, Thad, Totster, Bronco, Issanaussie and Santisuk again, and nice to meet Ubonjoe and Slyanimal.

Everything else was probably good as well, but you can't expect me to remember it all! rolleyes.gif

Looking forward to the next one! biggrin.png

  4. I'm still a yes!

Good to hear, as I was a bit worried I would have to drive. Jim

Think about that. Wasn't it you that said you didn't mind travelling with Crash Craddock as you couldn't see enough to be worried?

Now the jungle trek may flash past in plainer view.

    He probably meant me..............................? tongue.png

What do you mean "He"? Bloody Vikings, of course I meant you.

OK so you get to Ubon on Thursday, why not come here Friday (with Jim) we can try the new Norwegian restaurant in Khukhan, plus plus... and then all go together on Saturday morning? Assuming Jim doesn't have another accident. Hang the hammock early Jim!

Sounds like a plan IA, will have to check with Jim, WT and another Aussie friend who wants to join!
