CIMB Bank, however, has forecasts that the Thai baht may drop to 40/$US, if the US Federal Reserve increases its base rate further, as this would increase the interest rate gap between the two countries. Sontaya Khansub from the Pattaya police station received a report from terrified tourists about a group of teenage students on motorbikes who allegedly fired a gun into the air to threaten another group on Pattaya Beach near Soi 9 at 1 AM today, September 28th. A group of about 20 teenagers, some of whom were in school uniforms, dispersed as soon as the police arrived from across the street, stunned by the gunfire. Lt. Col. Nakhak Siriphan and Pattaya Sawang Boriboon rescue services responded to a fatal vehicle accident on Motorway Route 7 leading to Pattaya at 5:30 PM yesterday. The wreckage of a large bronze Toyota Vigo armored truck was found in a dry drainage ditch beside the motorway. Highway police told The Pattaya News that the truck was registered in Bangkok and was used by Siam Administrative Management and a security guard company to transport around 10 million baht from various businesses.
