Thailand’s Ministry of Transport may postpone the second round of bidding for the Orange Line train project, scheduled for July 27th, pending consultation with the Office of the Attorney-General (OAG). On July 7th, the Central Administrative Court ruled that the scrapping of the first round of bidding, by the selection committee of the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), was unlawful. One of the bidders, Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTSC), took the case to the court, claiming that the selection committee changed the terms of reference after the sale of bidenvelopes. Ekkapop Inthawiwat, Deputy Commander of the Chonburi Provincial Police, said on Sunday, July 10th, that Chonburi police were preparing to tighten traffic security for the safety of runners at the 29th Pattaya Marathon 2022. According to the officers, over 350 police officers and volunteers would be deployed to monitor all four races of the competition. As of Monday, the Royal Gazette published the announcement of the Ministry of Public Health titled Names and Significant Symptoms of Communicable Diseases to Be Monitored (No. 2) B.E. 2565. The announcement stated that it is expedient to declare Monkeypox as a communicable disease that must be monitored under the Communicable Disease Act B.E. 2558 (2015) for the purpose of surveillance, prevention, and control of the communicable disease in Thailand.
