  1. It's kind of hard to admit your American with Biden as President. I was at Central BKK and a German ask me where I was from, told him America, he told me Biden is an "EMBARRASSMENT!" Says it all.
  2. Richard Barrow in Thailand-Please Note 70% of deaths were "MOTORCYCLISTS!!" A message to foreigners who might be in Thailand for the first time. The roads are deadly. An average of 53 people die every day. 21 foreigners have also died on the roads this year so far. If you insist on driving, wear a helmet, have a driving license & have proper insurance. Road accident report 10/1/2023 57 deaths and 2,174 injuries 70% of deaths were motorcyclists 3 children died 2 pedestrian died 1 foreigner died 539 deaths in 10 days or 53.9 deaths/day
  3. Your paying "TOO MUCH!" Here in Ubon on our 7+ rai plot of land we paid about 45,000 baht for each of our two wells that are producing water and did not pay anything on two wells because the vendor did not produce any water because they were dry. Also, we use imported GRUNDFOS water pumps that are going over 10 years. Good Luck.
  4. My vote anywhere; I met my wife in Tokyo through her married sister-GOOD LUCK!

  7. You have to drive very defensively when in a vehicle in Thailand. If you want to not live very long jump on a Motor bike, if you do not agree go to the nearest hospital and checkout the motorcycle accidents statistics. "Happy Travels and Be Safe!"

  11. Thank you for the info. I thought I had a UTI and was on drugs for it from a Thai GP and my bladder hurt worsen with pain and a burning sensation several weeks back. On a trip to visit friends three weeks ago, I finally went into Bangkok Hospital, Sanamchan, Nakhon-Pathorn and saw a Urologist Where they did a urinalysis, blood test/ultrasound. Found I was not voiding all my urine. I am now on Urief (4mg) twice a day (Solaray Zinc/Now Prostate support) and that seems to be working. Total cost was 6,401 baht at the Bangkok Hospital with 10-day supply of Urief. I will be leaving in March next year for the USA and get a second opinion on what is next. I have already sent my medical records to the VA in Orlando, FL for their review (Not sure I will use them for any procedure like Rezum, etc.) of which due to the holidays I am sure I will not get an answer from my Doctor quick enough. Thanks again.
  12. A friend of mine just passed here in Ubon and his wife has asked me to carry his remains back to the USA. I am planning on leaving in March 2023 and will check with the Airlines ANA and United Airlines. My route of flight will be ANA to Narita (NRT), United Airlines to San Fran (SFO) direct to Orlando (MCO). Wondering if anyone has done this and can tell me of their hiccups or problems on the way to the USA. Will hand carry, not check baggage. Thank you in Advance.
  13. As a Retired Military/Civilian Pilot-The first thing when we as Pilot's do is check the weather before launching to make sure it's "SAFE." I'm sure it is the same for Captains of ships especially in the military. This blame falls on the ship's Captain. He should have not been there unless it was an emergency!
  14. For several years as I travel to Bangkok from Ubon on highway 24 I have learned to slowdown when approaching "Prasat!" There is always a speed trap there where everyone is paying. After coming back here to Thailand after six months in the USA this year, traveling via 24 yesterday, I slowed down 90 K's prior to Prasat. I usually speed up to around 110 (About 70 MPH in the USA) in very rural areas on the highway and of course slow down as I enter any city on the way. However, this time as I approached Prasat at 12 kilometers prior my Uniden R3 Extreme Long-Range Laser/Radar Detector made an extreme alarm after making a turn, luckily I was at the right speed as I went thru the check point. What is new on the other side of Prasat about 12 or so kilometers after the Prasat Police had setup another check point and were grabbing more speeder thinking they were free to speedup since they had just past the last one. Food for thought-Please pay attention when getting close to "Prasat" when driving on highway 24. "Happy Travels"
