I think if I started saying things like there is no such thing as free choice, I would get a lot of angry people... but then that will only be because of their past circumstances over which they had no control.. I had better shut up now...

I think there are a good number of older people who have the time to travel around the world at leisure.. you don't have to be that wealthy... I get a one month extension when I am in Thailand... better if I did not have to apply for this... -

These people are not born this way, they are created. I have seen how Thai and Khmer parents (I don't know about other SE Asian countries) strictly control their children. This applies to boys and girls, but mothers around the world, do treat a son differently to a daughter - it can be observed within one hour of birth. I have seen it in a Thai family where a son was raised primarily by his aunt when his mother was overseas. This teenager was so immature compared to what I would have been at his age. His emotions are repressed - stamped on. They are time bombs waiting to go off. I think it also explains why these young men go wild when they get away from their family (for a short time) when they have some "freedom" when they get a small motorcycle. In the case I refer to, his cousin of 15 died riding a motorcycle. So should we be surprised when they carry all this psychological baggage (immaturity) into adulthood. The simple fact is they are in effect, still just children and they act like someone stole their football. It is Thai society that needs to look long and hard at itself.

A Thai person can marry a Kiwi, get into NZ, stay with him for 2 years, get citizenship, divorce him, buy her own house (with the 50/50 split), do whatever jobs she likes, full welfare same as any Kiwi born here and after 10 years will get a full NZ pension when she retires.. and then also sponsor family members as well.. you think I can do that in Thailand ?

This is not an originating Thailand website... one should ask, "why are TAT not putting this information out" ? I mean TAT must consider themselves an honest organisation and not trying to rip off unsuspecting tourists ?

Thailand’s new entry fee – boon or bust for tourism?
milesinnz replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It is the picture it paints.. it seem everything to do with the Thai government is anti-tourist/anti-foreigner and this is just one more thing.. by itself, it is nothing, but in the overall picture of the way the Thai government behaves towards foreigners, it just makes me not want to come... I was going to pay out for a bigger motorcycle, kept in the name of a Thai friend of mine.. but I am certainly delaying that idea... -
I thought the solution to all Thailand's economic woes where wealthy tourists.. I guess that was yesterday.. " but not the main target visitors that the country should target"... "country should focus more on potential visitors including business visitors". I am not sure how much money "business visitors" would bring. They come for a few days for some "business meetings" and then spend ??? I am lost on this one... I think Martians are a much better idea, they will not have Covid...
