Normally see these parked up outside the Sala in Ayutthaya, while their talcum powder faced Thai owners spend 4 hours photographing and 'IG'ing' (whatever that is...) the overpriced meals they order, just so they could filter the life out of them before posting them for all to see
Nice car though ????

I only ever holiday in Pattaya, have never lived there. But have a friend who rents on the dark side near Maphrachan Lake, think he pays about 14k or 15k a month for a 3 bed bungalow with ample off street parking and a decent garden in a gated community. Aside from crossing Sukhumvit everytime you want some madness, its quite a nice area (from what I've seen). I'd consider it if I was ever to move to Pattaya/surrounding area

2nd Road end of Soi Made in Thailand is a very small bar with a band every night (from what I've seen).
Beach Road end of Soi 7 I believe has a couple of small bars with live bands too.
Tree Town got a few places with Thai band playing as well.
There's also some actual Thai bars on 3rd Road near Soi Bongkoch that have local bands playing. May be best to have a Thai girl with you though.
Thanks Steve, we often go down 7 ans 8 so will take a look. And have seen a few Vlogs (or whatever they're called) on YouTube of TreeTown...
I remember a couple of bars on 3rd road abouit 12 years ago when i use to visit

No mention of the Triangle bar?
Jacko, do you mean the one on the Chaiyapoon/Xcite junction, just off Bukhaow?

Thanks guys, we've got a ground floor condo so like you say beautifulthailand99, great view but hoping it wont be too noisy.
I'll be OK with the locals splashing around in their tiny smalls, but not wanting the usual overweight, hairy, speedo wearing accessories they usually come with as part of the package....

Ive booked a condo in Centara Azure Condo for November, i know of the Centara Azure hotel down Soi 15 off Soi Bukhaow (The one with the huge fish tank in, just past Hideaway, opposite Korandos), is this the condo block, or just the hotel? Little confused...
Can someone please clear it up for me?

I cant remember if I've asked this before or not (so apologies if I have, but cant find it anywhere if I did ask...).
Any small bar recommendations in Pattaya that have a Thai band playing? I know theres loads like Hot Tuna in Walking Street, and the Rolling Live bars, but any recommendations for much smaller places (I'm talking same size roughly as Jony's along Bukhaow, or smaller)
Any places you've been and can recommend please? I know there are hundreds in town, just after any recommendations

I'm visiting in November for 3 weeks, 2 in Pattaya and 1 up in Ayutthaya. I usually take with me enough baht to get through day 1, taxi from airport etc then change up £ serling in new notes at Superrich or TT excahnge.
Whats advisable to do this year? I know no ones a fortune teller, but i changed up £1,000 in May and got 42 thb to the £. Should i change up for sterling now, or bring out £ notes in november? (Given it will be 6 days after Brexit..............)
What would you guys do??

Coming out again in November and we’ve seen all the usual Nong Nooch, sanctuary of truth, gold Buddha, floating market, mini Siam etc
what other places of interest are there within an hours drive from Pattaya please guys?

Thanks all (I think....) will go back and discuss with her, given the exchange rate at the moment it’ll probably be cheaper to get them done at home (if she decides to)

As above, wondering if there’s any outdoor yoga places in Ayutthaya? Preferably somewhere scenic?
Found a a couple of studios online, but wondering about places outside

Thanks RoadWarrior
i assumed a lot of the better hospitals in or around Pattaya and BKK would be world leading? Given the number of boob jobs they do? (Granted, most are performed on Thai males)

Aside from the obvious 6ft leggy lovelies of Soi 6/1, can any of you recommend a decent surgeon in or around Pattaya who does breast enlargement? Am coming out early next year with a female friend who is considering having it done in Thailand.
Any advice or pointers greatly received (and funny comments also welcome)

Thanks again. Have never drunk drive/ridden so wont be a problem, always walk or get a mototaxi at night. Was looking at the Fresh Inn Hotel next to the Hilton, seemed reasonable and very central to nightlife

We always get a motobike so geting around wont be a problem
Thanks all in advance

So you say you come to Thailand twice yearly and also say you have done so for many years. Surely by now you should know which areas are suitable to meet your requirements ? Unless of course when you mention Bangkok and Pattaya they are the only places you have been too over the years ?
Pattaya and BKK primarily, but also been to Chiang Mai, Buriram and Ayutthaya too. Wasnt overly keen on Chaing Mai, dont know why, just didnt feel it. Buriram a no-no due to the obvious language barrier (very few english speakers there, which we knew anyway) so am asking others where else we should consider

Last year Tukcom asked me 2000 bht to unlock a Vodafone iPhone 6... ????
I bought a cheap, nasty throwaway phone instead then unlocked it for free when I got home to the UK

I may be looking to spend 1 or 2 years in Thailand in the next year or so with my british partner, so we'd be looking for a long term rental (ideally a villa/house/bungalow) but am after recommendations for areas to look at. We visit twice yearly anyway, and love the hustle and bustle of BKK and Pattaya, but also love peace and quiet (contradictions i know).
Ideally we'd like somewhere with great nightlife and a city/town where we can get by with our limited Thai, but also somewhere quiet enough to enjoy the garden. I drive and ride bikes in Thailand and have done for many years so small commutes wouldn't be an issue on a daily basis
where would be good areas to look please?

Very interesting read here guys, because at 42 I’d love to live in Thailand but inability to work would prevent it. What do those of you residing in Pattaya do for money, if you are too young for a pension?

Booked for 16 nights in Pattaya next week in a condo, just had the standard AirBnB generated email 'reminder' come through, 'not long now' 'dont forget to pack' blah blah and there was a bit on there about TM30 form
Do I need to do this?? Never used AirBnB before, only hotels. Do I need to do this form??
