He did have second thoughts, but he went ahead with the deal, in the end. As it turned out, his initial idea of buying Twitter turned out to be a smart move. X's valuation will continue to appreciate, I think.

And you think the governments were truthful with their people? And you think the jabs were "safe and effective"? Whatever. I thought most people were smarter than that at his point, but I guess not. That's truly amazing. Perhaps people need to somehow internally deal with the fact that they're now victims? Keep lying to yourself if it makes you feel better. The damage has been done, though.

Musk: Kiss Your Social Security Goodbye, Grandma!
jas007 replied to SiSePuede419's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
Musk is trying to save America. Why? Because without America, there won't be a Tesla or anything else, to speak of. He has hundreds of billions pf dollars. Why would he waste his time fooling around, if it wasn't necessary? -
You're the perfect example of what I was talking about. Whether or not the jabs "worked." Really? Propaganda works. You're Exhibit No. 1. Do you even understand the term "gaslighting"? Anyway, maybe you should ask yourself who designed the COVID virus and when. Ask yourself when the COVID jabs were formulated and by whom? Who owns the patents on the jabs? Who commissioned their manufacture, and when? And why. Did you ever hear the term "de-population"? There are some very evil people out there right now that vey much want that to happen. Perhaps they succeeded. Anyway, if you fell for the scam and took an mRNA jab, it's probably too late for you. You might have a few years left.

Wrong. I find it totally amazing that people sit around and argue about the COVID jabs without digging a little deeper. As if the only question was whether it was better to get the jab or not, statistically. Propaganda really does work. I thought people were smarter than that, at this point, but apparently not. The information is out there. All you have to do is look. Open your mind and look.

British Expat Finds Bliss in Thai Paradise, Won’t Return Home
jas007 replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
For the most part, "influencers" cone and go. I've almost lost track of how many I followed on YouTube, only to see them disappear after a while. I suppose when they fail to make much money online, they finally give up. Still, they tried. I don't see the harm. -
For what it's worth, every single time I've gotten food poisoning in Thailand, it hasn't been from street food, it's been from a restaurant. And even that hasn't happened too many times.

Between auto-correct and dictation software, you can end up with total nonsense. Words that are spelled correctly but just don't belong in the sentence. It happens all the time. I've seen it in Federal appeal briefs. They're right in the middle of trying to make a point and all of a sudden, gibberish.

Texas Governor Challenges Proposed EPIC Muslim City Development
jas007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Somehow, of all the places in America, I can't see how the Plano, Texas area would attract so many Muslims. Years ago, I lived in Plano for a few years. Back then, at least, I'm not sure such a community would be very welcome there. -
The left wants to destroy the Greatest country on Earth.
jas007 replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
Supposedly, one of the things that makes America great is its legal system. Real property rights. Real due process. Ot at least that used to be true. The Lefties are doing their best to destroy it, but but for the most part, it's still there. My little brother got to be friends with a Chinese guy who owned a Chinese restaurant in middle America. My brother used to go there every day, almost, for food, and he and the owner became friends. My brother's little girl used to like shrimp, so they made a special meal for her every time she showed up. They didn't have to do that, but they did. Anyway, when the Chinese guy got to the point I'm his life where he wanted to buy a house for his family, he was paranoid. He didn't know the system and he was afraid of losing the family fortune to a real estate scam. So my brother and his wife walked them through it. They did an unofficial inspection. They helped write the offer. They went to the closing. Of course, not much of that was really necessary in America. America has a legal system and laws, and things usually work they way they should. That's America. -

Ia there any such thing? For some people, it surely is. For others, maybe not. But I think the opportunity is there. How do you define "great"? -
Thinking of buying 1997 cherokee 4wheel drive
jas007 replied to tomtaylor1's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I don't know about a Jeep, but I certainly wouldn't be afraid of a car that old. If it has been maintained, why not? Especially if the price is right. Among a few other cars, I had a 1997 Toyota 4Runner 4WD not too long ago. It had around 105.000 miles on it and had been well maintained. I gave it away before I moved, but I'm sure someone got a good deal. LOL That vehicle could easily go another 15 years. -

Jeez. Where do you thin the idea of America came from? And isbn't that the discussion? America. The idea of America. Otherwise it's just a place on the map. -

I'm an American and I'm currently in Thailand. I've been retired for almost 20 yers and I've been living all over. Since July of 2022, in Thailand. Why am I in Thailand now and not America? To make a long story short, I became aware of what they were doing with the COVD jabs and the digital "passports" not too long into the whole pandemic scare. I wasn't about to be one of their depopulation victims. And that's what it was. A Psyop and a killer "vaccine." Scare the hell out of the population and then murder most of them with a killer jab. I can spend all day telling you how I know that, but let's just say I do. I've seen the receipts. And so, as soon as travel opened back up in 2022, I got rid of my USA junk any way I could and I bought a one way ticket to Thailand. I've been here ever since. Would I go back to the USA? Sure. Just as soon as I see a bunch of the culprits in orange jumpsuits and behind bars for the rest of their lives, or hanging at the end of a rope. Until the happens, why would I go there? I can be anywhere I want, and, all things considered, I feel safe in Thailand. For anyone not of that mindset, don't be afraid of America. There's a lot of fear mongering about the economy, but it doesn't have to be so bad, especially in the middle of the country. You might not like the weather, but you'll survive. -
I think they'd both like for the war to end in Ukraine. It's in everyone's best interest. The bigger problem, and the problem no one seems to want to talk about, is the potential bombing of Iran. Trump supposedly has low yield nukes on standby, and Netanyahu is egging him on. This can't end well. It's not just Iran that will be responding. Trump will be attacking Russia, China, North Korea, and all the aligned parties if the USA bombs Iran. It's going to be a mess, all because Israel wants to continue its genocide in Gaza. Maybe Trump makes a deal with Putin? Trump backs out of Ukraine, and Putin leaves Iran to its own devices? That makes some sense, I'm sure, in Trump's mind. He's no Globalist, and he understands "spheres of influence." That's enough to drive the Neocons crazy, hut maybe we'll get lucky,

The left wants to destroy the Greatest country on Earth.

But you're taking that quote out of context. The discussion was about America, the greatest place on earth and all that. And I commented about its formation, over time, and the idea of America, and I said this: Capitalism was the name of the game and government was to be limited. At least that was the idea. In other words, the discussion was about the IDEA of America. As originally envisioned. I won't ague the fact that many immigrants arriving during the "heyday of immigration" were uneducated peasants. And that's why they came to America. They wanted something more than to be uneducated peasants. And for many of those people, the American dream came true. For them, America worked. Is there some reason the idea of America should be abolished? Would that make you happy? "Don't worry kids. You'll own nothing and you'll be happy." "And here's your meal of bugs for dinner."" All while the elite have their steak and caviar and fly around in jets or float around on their yachts. -

So your point is that the writers of the Declaration of Independence and the people attending the Constitutional Convention were not educated? Sure, many immigrants were not educated, especially those who came during the "heyday of immigration," but the ones that founded America were certainly educated. And, as I recall, we're discussing the idea of America. Why it's important for the world. What's America without that Idea? Another bunch of dirt for human beings to inhabit.
