  1. It is decidedly creepy at this point to the extent that the ex-prime minister is going through the motions, and especially ironic that she is overseeing the mechanisms of what many in the Pheu Thai party feel to hold the trump card - the army. This " show " that Yingluck was engaged in comes at a time when Pheu Thai's relations with the army could not possibly be more strained. With the threat of the secession movement being fueled within the UDD, and with the army's anxieties over it being met with studious lack of action or concern by Yingluck and her former ministers - one of whom - Charupong - actually endorsed the UDD platform, which included secession - Prayuth must feel increasingly uncomfortable. The thoughts that must have swirling around the minds of those in that room must have been in jarring contrast to what was said.

I have a feeling that some a big part of the army is in her camp, but the Navy and Air Force on the other side, which makes the situation quite delicate. Remember, how Thaksin tried to eliminate the office of the Prem, before the last coup and how he put people that supported him in a position of power, in the Army. He didn't succeed the last time, but he has had a few years to stack the military deck more in his favor. Only time will tell, I guess.

  2. When maniacs like Kotee want to seperate the Country in two, I think there is nothing wrong with the military taking action against them. They are just lucky it's court action and not physical!

After all, the Military is there to protect the Nation and Thailand is the Nation!

If the Army and Police aren't doing their job, maybe the Navy and Air Force will.

Suthep never suggested anything as crazy as separating the Country. What the Reds are doing is a whole new ball game. A game they will loose for sure. This is not Nepal, this is Thailand! wai2.gifxWPFflags.gif.pagespeed.ic.52UL_9jJ74.pn

  3. It's amazing how quickly information like this gets buried and minimized. One day, selfishness and greed will wipe out a huge part of the population, on this planet.

Personally, I would have believed the Government crap about mostly the old and little children being at risk from H1N1, but after seeing healthy adults die, up here in Chiang Dao and our own healthy, 17 year old daughter almost dying from it, (She is healthy and fit and does sports almost every day) I know the announcement is bulls&*t.

Just in our little district (around 30000 people), we probably had nearly as many people sick from it, as they claim for the whole Country and we had more than 20 people die from it, in the past month.

If you don't believe me, go to McCormick Hospital and the Hospital in Mae Rim, to check their records. People with Money went mostly to McCormick and Chiang Mai Ram and those on the 30 Baht program went to the Hospital in Mae Rim, after Chiang Dao Hospital not being able to help them. Some died in transit.

These are facts. Believe what you want.

We own a restaurant/bar up here, so I have nothing to gain by educating people about the truth. Greedy businesses and Governments have a lot to gain by hiding the truth from the masses. wai2.gif

PS: Soon this information will be buried, off the main page of Thaivisa, so all the greedy business people can relax. Soon it will all be to back to normal. Ignorance is bliss xsick.gif.pagespeed.ic.tVTSNn-2vr.pngangry.gif.pagespeed.ce.l3zkt7JShR.gif

  4. Ok, so what do we need to do to protect ourselves? Will a simple flu shot fix this?

For pretty much guaranteed protection there are two shots. One is called Tamiflu and the other one, you have to ask. In Chiang Mai, McCormick Hospital, they have done lots of people, so they know. I think, you have to get them from a Hospital, when we tried to find them in clinics in Pattaya, they all said "only in hospital"

  5. Hm, with a mortality rate of 0.052% this virus appears to be not more deadly than a common cold. What's the actual objective? Promote vaccination once again to clear the stocks before expiration date? blink.png

They lie about the numbers, in Chiang Dao District alone, at least 13 people died of it, within the last two month, who we know of. Lots of people have been sick from it. I tried to get this information out over a month ago, but was ignored by all media, except for Rimmer, the Global Moderator here, who let me comment about it in a small Chiang Mai forum, where hardly anybody read it. My daughter almost died from it, too. She wasn't breathing anymore when she got to McCormick Hosptial. (she is fine now. We got her in just in time)

  6. Well it's about F&%$ing time! Man am I ever pissed off. I tried to get this in the media more than a month ago, when 12 people we know off died in Chiang Dao of H1N1. I tried with Bangkok Post, who left me on hold for more than 10 minutes, when I told them what it was about. I tried with the Nation, sending them several emails with my phone number and real name, etc. to confirm it and I tried with TV, but was only able to talk about it in a local CM forum, because of TV rules. I even contacted WHO (World Health Organization). About a week later, the Thai Chiang Mai News, did an article, saying that three people died in Chiang Dao Hospital of H1N1. It was in Thai, so I could not post it on TV. Plus it was a lie, because at least a dozen people had died since then, who had been to Chiang Dao Hospital because of H1N1, but I guess they didn't count all the ones that died in the ambulances, on the way to Chiang Mai, from Chiang Dao Hospital???

Anyways, about 10 days after I tried to contact all the media, our daughter got H1N1, too and almost died on the way to McCormick Hospital. She is fine now and back in school.

Two days ago, another lady, who owns a small coffee shop told me that her daughter also had it, but she could not afford the proper medicine, so she was sick for a long time, but is better now.

If somebody would have listened, maybe this could have been contained earlier. At least 10 of the people who died up here, all came from a very small area in Chiang Dao District (Tunglakong), so maybe that is where it originated?

Because of greed and coverups, more people died. This is sickening! wai2.gif

  7. From what I gather, the Senate is in charge now, once a legal ruling is made. The outcome of the legal ruling should be obvious and ruled against the Yingluck Caretaker Government.

Then there will be a void, which the Senate will fill, according to rules in the Thai Constitution.

Which leads me to believe, that the Senate can then appoint a "Reform Committee" and later set the date for the next elections, unless there is a definite date, they need to call elections by. wai2.gif

  8. Fumigation stops fungi? Test it to see if it came from Phitsanulok or not?

That looks to me like they have removed one column on the edge of the stack. So if that is the very edge, imagine what it is like on the inside. I suppose, at least there is a chance that they can simply write off the entire stock of rice as damaged and get to zero stock......Take the loss, and just write everything to zero

No, they can't just write it off...If they do, how can they scam millions more dollars, pretending to save the rotten rice? whistling.gif

  9. I think most of us know, that Suthep is not the real head of the Anti-Government movement and that Yingluck isn't the real leader of Thailand.

Do some of you really believe that the Navy and some of the air force and army would support Suthep, if they were not told who is really behind him?

    and on the other side...

Do you really believe that Yingluck pulls the strings and that the UDD and the police act independently from Thaksin?

They are two people doing a job for others, above them. One has to be an idiot not to figure out what is really going on in Thailand.

So why bother to get so excited about Yingluck and Suthep. They are just doing the job, they are asked to do by their superiors.

There are some things, we cannot talk about here, which of course makes it difficult to discuss the situation accurately and in detail. Sad, but that is just the way it is.

As far as Ms. Yingluck and Mr. Suthep are concerned, why be so mean, when talking about them. She is doing the job, her brother ask her to do and stepped up to the plate and Mr. Suthep stepped up to the plate, when someone else asked him to. I'm sure that both feel good, that they have stepped up to the plate. I also believe, that they both think, that they are on the right side. wai2.gif

  10. So the (pro PTP) government CMPO is telling anti-government protesters to stay home? What a surprise.

They've been issuing the same message in varying guises since the protests began.

Can't imagine what their motives are.

Yes, now everyone can finally see, who benefits from these terrorist attacks against the protesters. If the protesters stayed home, the Government would win. If enough of the protesters stay home, the Government will move in and disperse the rest and change the laws later or get kicked out and come back in another name and get elected again.

Either way, the Government would greatly benefit, if the protesters stayed home, while the Suthep and his remaining protesters would get crushed.

So it seems quite obvious, where the violence comes from, especially, when UDD (a policeman leader of the UDD and the crowd attending), are cheering and clapping about 5 people being murdered in cold blood, in Trat.

  11. Wow so glad I am in Pattaya, as I would have little desire to live in Thaksinland.

I wonder what all the upcountry farangs are thinking right now.....

I am not thinking about anything other than the fact it is starting to get hot here.

Yes, very hot in Chiang Dao today, too. A town that is usually at least three degrees cooler than Chiang Mai.

Aside from that, for foreigners like myself, I see little change or little threat, except that with Thaksin's clones in power, they will turn this Country more and more like one of the Western countries, I so happily moved away from. Since he came into power, visa regulations tightened, tougher smoking and drinking laws, bar hours cut back, War on drugs, more police corruption and fines.

That being said, I am only a foreigner. I can leave anytime I want. Thai people, on the other hand, are stuck with their decisions.

So far, it's not as bad as Canada. If that ever changes, I will look for better hunting grounds wai2.gif
