Big Thailand visa changes from June 1
at15 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have been in thailand for 10 years since mid 20's. This would be the worst thing that could happen for us younger folks. Making visas impossible and aggravating like russia or china would be the best. If you cant understand this well im not gonna explain it, good luck to you. -
Big Thailand visa changes from June 1
at15 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
We have to wait on the fine print requirements for the 180 day visa. If its like the LTR Visa or Smart Visa then its more of an exclusive program. -
iqair.com from 2019.... chiang rai 37.0 chiang mai 32.3 udon thani 23.4 bangkok 22.8 hua hin 21.0 pattaya 20.9 surat thani 16.6 phuket 11.4

100 AQI your still gonna be at a terrible pm2.5 value like 40µg/m³. You really need keep your pm2.5 level under 10µg/m³ yearly average for minimal health risk. Udon thani yearly average is 23.4 µg/m³, still very high but better than Chiang mai at 32.3 μg/m3. Cardiovascular health is the major problem, especially for males, heart disease and erectile dysfunction much higher with pm2.5 pollution.

Heatwave in Thailand greatly affects outdoor tourism
at15 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The high in chiang mai during april still averaged about 35c in the 1990's. Now our april 2024 average high is around 40c, big change. -
Put your face directly in front of a running microwave oven and thats what your doing when driving an electric vehicle. No sane individual would do that.

Visa Application form, Passport copy, Hotel booking for entire stay, entry and exit flight tickets, last 3 months bank statement, copy of malaysia entry stamp, and 1900 baht. Also note: You cannot enter the building without long pants and mask over your nose. They only accept a limited number of people per day so people start lining up early before they open. Its too much hassle imo. But if you have only been in thailand once this year you can probably get it if you follow procedure.

at15 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
no province has good air, that requires less than 10 µg/m³ -
What visa option would you recommend?
at15 replied to Five5fife's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You are fornicating trying to live in the country using a sham visa, I will be honest with you the authorities really hate this. Marry her and get the proper visa or move on, those really should be your only 2 options. -

advise needed. visarun. got rejected on airport

Definitely go with land entry from Laos, thats pretty much guaranteed. The people saying chiang mai are not up to date with the current situation. Sure they were better 5-10 years ago but that has passed I know from first hand experience 2022 and 2023. Any airport is questionable nowadays, everyone is on the same page. -
Ignore JoseThailand. He fled Russia, and Russians are specifically allowed unlimited land border runs so his information is not relevant to this thread. I have no idea why he always comes in these threads spouting off nonsense. Please Jose understand you dont have a western passport.

In December 2022 we had reliable reports Chiang Khong was telling people with significant history in thailand they could not exit and come back through this border and they need to fly out of thailand. Also people trying to do the border run on the last day of their visa expiration were told they need to spend 1 night in Laos. Has anyone seen this stuff still happening?

Question regarding applying for an Evisa
at15 replied to Aionss888's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you are currently in hong kong you can apply for evisa, its no problem for non resident foreigners. For an evisa you either apply in your home country or you need to apply to the embassy where you are currently located. China and Korea are the only two places that accept evisa in Asia. The consulate needs your flight so they can see where you originate from. -

Tourist visa after 2 visa exempts
at15 replied to Sambo5000's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Everywhere nowadays requires bank statements. Savannakhet wont give you a tourist visa unfortunately, as anyone who spent 3 out of last 6 months in thailand cant get one there. You cant get a bank statement? Cash is not accepted, it doesnt matter how much it is. -
Its been known since 2019, the Savannakhet consulate is strict. If you stayed 3 out of the last 6 months in Thailand they will not give you a tourist visa.

I have lived here many years and spoken to thais in thai. After that big tip they just laugh and ask why farang so stupid. They feel guilty taking money that is not theirs. The only common tipping is unknowing farangs.
-
LOL what are you doing?? Of course the thais will take the money but they dont understand the concept of tipping, they just think your stupid. Also what does UK have to do with this? try using baht in the UK and let me know how that goes.
