Thailand is "neutral" on the issue of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, ... will make international funds, western companies consider avoiding further investment in Thailand, and divesting from Thailand.
Tosh. Historically Switzerland has been neutral, including through World War II. The slaughter of millions of Jews and others by the Nazis wasn't enough to persuade the Swiss authorities to pick a side. And yet Switzerland has long been considered a safe having for one's investments. No need to assume that Thailand's current neutrality will affect foreign investment here.

If there was an SSL certificate problem with Ubuntu, presumably I would have a problem with the Chrome browser as well
This may be completely wrong, but I seem to recall that Firefox has SSL certificate info. hard coded into the program, whilst Chrome dynamically loads the info.. This would cause an old version of Firefox to fail, whilst Chrome would be OK.

That old chestnut is a fig leaf. The existence or otherwise of a reciprocal agreement doesn't affect the ability for the UK to increase pensions. It's just that successive governments have preferred to squander money on other things, rather than to treat all pensions equally.
Incidentally, the UK doesn't have reciprocal agreements with EU members, but the government decided it would inflation-link pensions for pensioners living in the UK. I guess they didn't want the political backlash.

Will this mean 1 million Thai Muslims will be able to visit Mecca?????
Maybe not. But it's 100% certain that not a single Buddhist, Christian, Hindu or Jew will be able to visit Mecca.

And if the plan fails to attract the one million, how many government people will be sacked or demoted for incompetent prediction?
There appear to be no consequences whatsoever for tourist number predictions which are woefully over optimistic, which is why they keep coming.

The amended law allowed internet-based service providers such as Facebook and YouTube to remove pirate content from their systems right when they were informed of the offence without having to seek a relevant court order
Maybe I'm missing something, but surely Facebook and YouTube are not Thai companies, and don't provide their services from Thailand, so why are they currently unable to remove pirated content without a Thai (or other) court order?

I liked Goa. Its Portuguese/Christian heritage makes it rather more bearable than much of India. The 17th century churches are interesting, and there's pork on the menu. Of course, Goa is the birthplace of vindaloo curry - originally made with pork. (It's derived from the Portuguese dish carne de vinha d'alhos.) There's also a lot of good, reasonably priced seafood.

I'd noticed that coloured lanes with a chevron design have appeared before some toll stations. I understand that they are associated with the M-Flow barrierless toll collection system. Are these lanes legal for all cars to use? Or only ones who've signed up for the M-Flow system? (Obviously, I don't mean for driving through the toll gate - just for driving towards , then switching lane.)

The US Federal funds rate is currently 0.25%. Pretty sure the US Dollar isn't "worthless", though.

I would say ' I'd like an inside table please'.
อยากได้โต๊ะข้างใน
The Thai expression above (from Google translate app, download it on your phone) says: want yes table inside.
So to the Thai expression above you would add 'I' before want and at the end add 'thank you'.
Have a play with Google translate and have a listen to the words in Thai.
Good grief! That's dreadful advice. Google Translate is generally awful.
And you wouldn't want to add "I". Pronouns are generally omitted. And you wouldn't say "thank you" before something has been done to be thanked for.

People who have 32million to waste on a dumb work permit
Again, an egregious distortion. It's not wasted, it's invested. And you get the investment back at the end, plus any gains.

This is what they call bribery...
You give us 32 Million Baht, and we will give you a piece of paper
This (along with many other posts) is blatantly misrepresenting the situation. You're not spending or giving 32 million baht - you are investing it. When you no longer need the visa or the visa expires you can sell your investments. Along the way you can take the income (and presumably capital gains) from your investments.

Didn't the Nazis do something similar Poland? Called "ghettos", I think. That is widely considered a human rights abuse. So is this.

32 million baht, or one million dollars. Sounds familiar. Maybe Dr. Evil is working for the Thai government. With the proper advice they could increase the price to 100 billion dollars.

Not in Thailand you can't. It's a reserved occupation under "staffing shops and other retail outlets".

Imagine 5 days a week being trained singing the national anthem praising how Thailand is the best place on Earth
This is what you get, a broken society that cannot function like a democracy.
Indeed. Imagine being brainwashed every day in school pledging allegiance to a flag. Imagine being indoctrinated into believing "USA #1" and mindlessly chanting it at sports events and political rallies. Imagine repeatedly being lied to that the USA is the greatest country on earth.
Consider the blatant gerrymandering and the flagrant attempt to make it difficult for ethnic minorities to cast their electoral votes because white Americans are better than everyone else.
This is what you get, a broken society that cannot function like a democracy.

Not sure that's true. My understanding is that Korat comes from the Old Khmer angkor (capital city) raj (king).

Krung thep is pali language
Not really. "krung" is from Old Khmer, and can be traced back to the Proto-Mon-Khmer "kruŋ" meaning "to confine".
It is unclear whether "thep" is ultimately from Pali or Sanskrit. However, it's more likely to have arrived in Thailand via the Old Khmer "debbha".
