Went to the bank to cash a check to myself which I have done for six years or so.  Thai Military Bank.  Said they could not cash it.  I wrote a message

to main band and asked the reason and got the following answer.  "Current checks in foreign currencies in Euros or Canadian currencies. If you go to TMB Branch will suspend the account. Inquire intoformation foreign drafts 02-299-2028 or +662-299-2028"  Had anyone any more information on this.

Just submitted T - 28, in Chumphon no problem.

I used http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/ last year no problem.

As before I could track an envelop to the airplane going to Canada in Thailand and that is all.  Four or five years ago I could track it to delivery in Canada, now Canada Postal says they don't track small registered mail.  Could EPS it and track which cost a lot more.

I think all that can be said is not unusual.

My extension takes an hour and the little lady is working the whole time. The only way it could be shorter is not to do some of the stuff that is required.

30 days is normal. I am sure if you want to abnormal you can find a way.

Mine took an hour last year and an hour this year.

Didn't seem to have any problem with Thai Baht, US dollars and Viennese currency. Was amazing at how quickly I got back change in different currencies.

In my experience, there seems to be a widespread negative attitude against aspirin, and one pharmacy seems to be down on it and the next seems to have no problem. As said if you can't get

it at one try another, although more seem to be negative than positive.

Look up head lice and essential oils some good not that expensive organic solutions.

There is a train that goes near the border and you just catch a tuk tuk to the border. Only costs about 100 baht for the train, Thai's can ride free. Found it quite comfortable.

Costa Rica and Thailand are both lovely places. This is a personnel decision, so not knowing you will make a few comments. Had a lot more problems with theft in

CR in one week than I have had in Thailand in 10 years.Not that Thailand isn't all that safe, but a little common sense takes you a lot further. I find the Thai's normally

are opportunists not criminals.How often do you need to return to the States? Once you take care of transportation and board in Thailand you spend what you want to.

Women and drinking is where most of your money is spent. What type of environment do you need to live in. Costs a lot more to live in Bangkok than Chumphon.

How much do you need to have Western culture around you? I meet up with people a few times a month, no problem. If you need to live in

a western type environment going to cost you,and if you can take or leave drinking with Westerners, can live surprisingly cheap. Didn't get to know how the government

works in CR, but on the surface appeared to be one of the smartest ones in the America's. Thailand can be a pain, but if you dot the I's and Cross the T's, not really significant.

My breakfast consists of coconut water, two bananas and a cup of chinese kale made into a smoothie.

I am in my seventies and since I have been on this diet feel wonderful. May not be as good as Western ]

Kale but gives me a lot of nutrition, energy etc. Don't think it is far behind and it a better than a lot of

things. Tastes wonderful.

Takes 5 minutes to report and can do by mail.is not difficult, only inconvenient. To not do it may cause unforeseen problems if you want to re-new what your have.

I believe you have to ask for the 90 day extension to work in conjunction with a visa extension. Otherwise it goes from the last 90 day report.

Its not the hours of education it is the quality. It has been shown that changes in the environment strengthen alertness. Change teachers every two or three hours. Everybody in the system is bored. English can be fun. Show videos and teacher goes to sleep. The people running the system don't want to be bothered with what needs to be done. Nobody seems to be serious about education in Thailand. Get people from successful systems to come in and assess the Thai system.

The Chumphon Immigration Team is to be commended for their fine work and fast service. Team is small but can compete with the best of them.

If the great increase in the norther area of the Gulf Stream results in the Gulf Stream shutting down then there will be a lot more than a mini-ice age.

I think the teacher could have the time if they make the commitment. In our schools down south, the kids spend 30% of there time

in sports days and the teachers spend 30% of there time in seminars or field trips. If 60% of the time they are in a non-teaching role

maybe the government can rent them out for some extra income to put develop better prisons to hold the criminals that are there for lack of education.

I have got a 90 day report after doing my yearly extension when I asked for it. You are formally reporting your address at the time of the extension, but you have to ask for it. As someone said two different processes.

No matter how much land there is, there is a lot and it would be nice to have it either kept in forest, used for biomass or some other constructive use. Thailand has too much unproductive land.
