  1. @wealthychef Just noticed in the other thread he's flying China Airline. That may impact the insurance issue - does it have a stop in China and do they require negative PCR test for transit passengers?
  2. Note things are still changing - latest being those without vaccinations can fly now with possibly a test on landing - so keep an eye on the situation.
  3. In that case your brothers good to go, no insurance required. As long as he's vaxed there's no reason not to allow him to board which was part of the reasoning behind the insurance.
  4. There's been no mention of quarantine and no specifics of what, if anything, will happen to someone with a positive test.
  5. Stumbled over an old article, yesterday I think it was, about British Airways delaying restarting flights to Bangkok until March this year and rerouting to Singapore instead. They where due to restart last October. Bet they're having a little chuckle to themselves with this fiasco going on.
  6. Another thing they haven't clarified 555 Airline to check at departure airport but no mention of how/if they will forward details of passengers without vax/proof of recovery certs. Allegedly it will be random testing according to one of the agents on here:
  7. Yes according to the latest point 5 of the restrictions: 5. The airlines must check the documents as required. If passenger fails to produce document proving these requirements are met, the passenger is subjected to be tested at the port of arrival. Richard Barrow is pretty good at updating these types of things, might be worth checking now and then if more than just curious, chances are he'll be one of the first fairly reliable sources to publish:
  8. Not even sure if it was implemented to be honest. But, the idea was to have a bucket of money out of which hospitals could be compensated for not being paid. It had nothing to do with an individual being insured as so many on here and other forums kept banging on about. It does not negate individuals having the means (whether it be personal finance or by being covered by an insurance policy) to cover any treatment required in the case of falling sick or having an accident within Thailand.
  9. The Q word hasn't been mentioned yet and I doubt they've thought that far ahead.
  10. Who knows, I doubt they've thought that far ahead ????‍♂️
  11. Latest amendment - she can come but will be tested on arrival. If she has any interest in putting up with the flip flopping of course.
  12. Latest amendment - if you can't prove vaccinated, test on arrival. As usual no further details re if test positive etc.
  13. It means if your country has restrictions on entry that could possibly mean you being denied boarding they want you to have insurance e.g. China requires a negative PCR test within 48 hours of departure therefore, Chinese tourists require insurance to visit Thailand. If your brother is from a country with no restrictions to get in he doesn't need insurance.
  14. What airline is he flying? Here's a couple of examples. https://www.qantas.com/au/en/coronavirus/international-travel/thailand-flights.html https://www.thaiairways.com/sites/en_GB/plan/travel_information/Travel_Requirements/Thailand.page?code=THALLTR
  15. In this case, yes, ignore the "Breaking" in the title. Airlines had already started updating their sites hours before this thread started.
  16. This one is possibly the best option: https://aseannow.com/forum/25-visas-and-migration-to-other-countries/
  17. Nothing has been mentioned about land entry (so far!) so if you like gambling, fly to a neighbouring country and try a border crossing. Or, wait until 1 Feb - with the possibility of the restrictions being extended. Or, get your first jab and plan to go to Thailand in about 4-6 weeks (unless you can get one of the vaccines where 1 dose is accepted in which case it would be quicker to get in).
  18. Yes, land borders not mentioned, no doubt we'll hear from people doing border crossings next week, who knows what will happen. The guy I replied to has a flight booked for the 9th back from KL, personally, I'd bring it forward if I could to avoid the hassle.
  19. They've bypassed that, new restrictions in place temporarily from 1 am 9 Jan.
  20. Then you don't need an extension or am I missing something? Perhaps you mean 90 day report.
