All the information is on their website here
The kids tournament is on Thursday and Friday. There is no time given but it is probably in the afternoon. I'll try to find out more and post it here. Incidentally the ladies tournament is also very good with the Thai girls being very talented many of whom have represented Thailand on a national level.

The Chiang Mai Cricket Sixes begin this Sunday and are on all week at the Gymkhana Club.
For those not familiar with either cricket or this very shortened form of the game, Sixes cricket is fast and furious and characterised by some explosive batting. There are teams from all over the world some of which include very fine players. There is local interest with teams from the UN Irish Pub and the Zoom Bar as well as a team of very talented Thai cricketers who have come up through the Chiang Mai schools cricket programme and who are expected to be very competitive this year.
The action starts no later than 9am and goes onto sundown. There is a bar and numerous food stalls. Admission is free.
This event is now in its 24th year and it is well worth a look.

I think this 'little Thai custom' always had its crazy side as these pictures shpw. Although I think it goes on for too many days and that this is self defeating in many ways, I honestly think Songkran in CM is one of the world's great street festivals and deserves to be celebrated with gusto.

Nienke at Lucky Dogs has cat boarding kennels and is highly recommended

Sorry to hear of your loss but pleased to hear your father had the care he needed from such a caring employee, it is heartening to know such people are out there.
Can I suggest you place an ad in Citylife classifieds similar to the recommendation you put on here. I am sure someone in need of assistance will jump at the chance to employ such a caring individual.

Hi Anonymouse
We got ours branded 'Option' from Makro for about 600 baht. Most of the boxes of all models were clearly marked multi region. It's also got a USB port for playing downloaded stuff. I would go for a slightly better model than ours but you should still get something decent for under 1,000b

We have 4 cats who are closely monitored by my feline obsessed wife. We have a big garden which soi dogs can't access. Not that this constrains the cats, they still go off a wandering. Three years and no disasters yet. The cats are watchful and too smart I think. The cats have to be in by 6pm every night and they have got used to the regime.
We also have two dogs who are confined to the garden and not allowed to roam the streets Thai style.

I use the branch at Computer Plaza on Mani Nopparat road (northern outer moat road). They have a sales unit there and a maintenance department which has just moved to bigger premises in the multi storey building next door but if you go into the shop in the Plaza they will escort you there.

I have used Goodspeed for 5 years and always found the service to be first rate. I have bought a number of machines from them and they are always set up to my personal specification. They also waive all maintenance fees for me and reformat machines for free. I can't praise them highly enough

The Islamic butcher on Charoen Prathet Road near to the bridge by the Holiday Inn. Going towards the bridge the butcher is on your left.
He rears sheep here in CM but does not always have it in stock in the shop. He can always get lamb with 24 hours notice. The owner is a very nice guy and speaks good English.

Yes I am very near Ban Wang Tan and have been having similar problems. Nice to have someone confirm that it is a general problem rather than that my router is tired.

Sure to be a great event. After the ride there is going to be a party at the X-centre with the kids plus live music, food etc. So even if you don't have a bike please come along for that. It is worth it just to see the joy on the kids' faces

We went along to the opening yesterday and the exhibition is superb. There are clearly some very talented photographers in Chiang Mai.
Congratulations to all those whose work was on display.

Very sorry to hear this distressing news. Phillip was an extremely kind and generous man. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.

You can get a non B from Laos but only for 3 months and your paperwork must be perfectly in line with their requirements. I got one from there in May but the poor chap in front of me in the queue had one document missing and was declined.
It is always easier to get a B visa in your home country.

Rachel and I would like to thank everyone for their best wishes and for the support over the past few years. We would especially like to thank George, Baz and all the TV crew for being the official TV party venue and for all their help.
It is very nice to be appreciated.
We hope to see people of the next 3 days for a good and happy farewell drink.

Hope you find Tuskers open. I walked in yesterday evening, about 8 pm, and there were no customers and no staff either. Ended up in the Irish Pun instead.

So being new to all this parenting lark my options are to have lots quickly so they all keep each other amused or have one, wait five years send them out sweeping chimneys or such like so that the income they bring in can subsidise the raisng of the next?
Decisions, decisions

Thank you to everyone who expressed their good wishes on this and other threads. Rachel and I appreciate the sentiments.
We are enormously excited (and just a little nervous) about the arrival of our first child and are looking forward to raising a family in Chiang Mai which is a city we love.

This Saturday we are holding a Mixed Doubles Beer Pong Challenge at Tuskers. For the uninitiated Beer Pong is a competitive drinking game where the objective is to throw table tennis balls into an array of beer glasses set out by your opponent. Teams take it on turns and if a good shot is made the opponent has to drink the beer in the glass. The game continues until one teams glasses are finished. The full rules are here.
On Saturday we will be playing a knock out tournament formula with mixed teams of two. Price per entry is 100baht which includes all game beer. Players and spectators are welcome and the draw will be made at 8pm.
This video show some expert shooting the like of which we are highly unlikely to see on Saturday

Got to agree with TP on this Winnie it's very early to be using that wildcard. Although what do I know I have made 3 transfers this week costing me 8 points.
Congrats TP on your current position on the top of the pile.

How come I'm not in last place. I haven't much knowledge of the players I selected, just tried to keep the value within the guidelines. If I make the right transfers week to week, who knows I could get to 25th or even 24th
Early days Mogoso after all my wife is second and a TV moderator first
A long way to go yet.
