    Apologies but I've searched the forum but cannot find... My Swedish neighbour is due to renew his marriage extension soon, he is adamant that a letter from his Embassy will suffice to show he is receiving a pension, Would he also need to show monthly pension payments to his bank account for the last 12 months ?? Thank You

    They are checking that you are not on overstay. Hotels do this as well. They must get some kind of reward for anyone they report to Immigration

    That's exactly what happened for my wife's father recently. 3 days of visits by the monks, continual food and drink. All done very respectfully
