UN revises Gaza death toll, almost 50% less women and children killed than previously reported

    https://www.foxnews.com/world/un-revises-gaza-death-toll-50-less-women-children-killed-previously-reported

    Direct quote from UN:

“The revisions are taken … you know, of course, in the fog of war, it’s difficult to come up with numbers,” Haq told JNS. “We get numbers from different sources on the ground, and then we try to cross check them. As we cross check them, we update the numbers, and we’ll continue to do that as that progresses.”

Opinion: John Bolton former US National Security Advisor

Also seems to be Cameron's opinion

UK ban on selling arms to Israel would strengthen Hamas, says Cameron

"Just to simply announce today that we will change our approach on arms exports, it would make Hamas stronger and it would make a hostage deal less likely," he adds.

He said he wanted instead to focus on "hammering away every day" on getting humanitarian aid into Gaza.

  3. UK’s FM: Hostage deal is ‘right answer’ to ending war, the ‘problem goes back to Hamas’

British Foreign Secretary David Cameron says that a deal to secure the release of the hostages held in Gaza is “the right answer” to end the war between Israel and Hamas.

“My view is that the right answer is to try and stop the fighting by having a hostage deal, achieving a pause in the fighting and then using that to build a sustainable ceasefire without going back to further conflict,” Cameron tells Sky News.

“But the problem is it goes back to Hamas,” he says. “Hamas have been offered a deal which would release hundreds of prisoners from Israeli jails, that would provide a pause in the fighting… and they’re not taking that deal.”

Sacrifice the hostages for the sake of peace. Surely a few hundred are worth tens of thousands of women and children.

UN has an update for you. The main stream media seems to be very late in getting this out. Figures for women and children have been halved. Stop believing Hamas and no, that's a vile thought to sacrifice hostages.

The shock being- no bodies were discovered. Briefly, nearly $8 million was spent at the epicentre of the scandal in Kamloops BC.  And exactly zero human remains were found.  Now I am curious how the government's investigation into the 80 churches that were burned/vandalized in the wake of this hoax is going....

    https://www.westernstandard.news/news/no-bodies-found-after-spending-8-million-searching-for-bodies-at-kamloops-residential-school/54429

Interesting to come back to this, I remember our debates on this when it was a topic here were quite intense. Without going back to research I think they based their suspicions on some sort of ground penetrating radar. They were wrong which is good. But as you say 8 million later and a possibility that arson on churchs was carried out.

Of course this does not take away that many indigenous children were mistreated in residential schools.

Yet you seem to get your link from that neutral bastion of honesty and truth.

    The Times of Israel.

And that is nothing like an unbiased source or the truth at all.

At least I get some of my news from MSM which you and others like you believe is totally biased and you believe none of it.

In feel pity for you, as you can only see a one sided blinkered view of a country that slaughters innocent men, women and children on a daily basis.

Yet the Times of Israel has a higher factual rating than most. How do you work that one out? Jews telling the truth. Is that still unbelievable to you?

  7. A few more examples of "anti Israel bias" in the BBC

Defence Secretary Grant Shapps clashed with the BBC live on air as he criticised the corporation for its decision not to describe Hamas militants as “terrorists” in coverage of the recent attacks in Israel.

BBC presenter Naga Munchetty asked Mr Shapps if he had a message for Jewish people in the UK who “don’t feel safe” at the moment due to “hate being stirred up” as a result of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

He said: I think it would be helpful if news organisations started by recognising that British law calls and recognises them as terrorists, which is something the BBC is yet to formerly do, which I think is a shame.

'Pro-Hamas' reporters still working for BBC after making sick claims about Israelis
One of the reporters had liked posts calling Hamas "freedom fighters" - while another made cruel jokes about hostages.

  8. Cameron, on the button. Two hours after Bidens announcement on weapons Hamas left Cairo and the hostage deal

"🇬🇧 Foreign Secretary @David_Cameron rebuffs political pressure to abandon Israel in the fight to destroy Hamas and free the hostages: An arms embargo on Israel would "strengthen Hamas, weaken Israel, and make a hostage deal less likely."

Not my home country and I like it just fine here. You could also move back to your home country, unless it’s not good anymore? Or maybe Ukraine. I heard they are looking for suckers to fight America’s war.

You can also join brain brian to Ukraine. The both of you can bore the Russian soldiers into surrender… :clap2:

    Really?

What makes me is that the USA paid over $1 billion to build the best air defence systems in the world. This was shown recently when the Israelis stopped 99% of over 300 high tech missiles and drones that Iran fired.

However, they couldn't stop a few guys on motorised parachutes pick up trucks and bicycles.

They immediately used this as an excuse to indicriminantly bomb their neighbours, something they have been wanting to do for years.

But the dome did not stop 99% of missiles, the majority were stopped by a coalition of the US, UK, Saudi (providing intelligence, Jordan and of course the Israeli air force.

  11. Apparently some people still believe the figures, even the UN has now conceded.

UN Halves Its Estimate of Women and Children Killed in Gaza

The United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) revised its child fatality figure from the Gaza war sharply downward, reporting more than 14,500 deaths on May 6 but then 7,797 on May 8. OCHA also revised downward its figure for women fatalities from more than 9,500 deaths to 4,959 deaths. The Jerusalem Post first reported the changes on May 11.

The UN attributed its original, higher figures to the Hamas-controlled Government Media Office (GMO) in Gaza, whose figures OCHA has cited continually for the past two months. The UN gave no source for the lower figures in its May 8 update, but the figures precisely match those in a May 2 report from a different Hamas-controlled organization, the Gaza Ministry of Health. “This change may signal that the UN has finally recognized the lack of evidence behind Hamas’s original claims that more than 14,000 children and 9,000 women have been killed in Gaza.

I think Netanyahu should have worked towards a serious two state solution. But he doesn't want that. Instead he shows a map of Israel from the river to the sea, and pushes for more illegal settlements on the West Bank, while allowing the IDF to arm and protect terrorist settler militias.

He supported Hamas not out of the goodness of his heart, but to prop them up against the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank.

Hamas goal is clear, Netanyahu's goal is clear.

Yes both goals are clear. Hamas wants to wipe out Israel, Israel wants to eliminate Hamas.

Neither want a 2 state solution. The UN just voted for a two state solution. Got it.

I know what Hamas says, over and over again. It didn't prevent Netanyahu from supporting Hamas, with money from Qatar.

Do you have an opinion about the statements of an Israeli cabinet member?

That was quick, so you know that they said they will do this again and again, you know they said they are happy to sacrifice their own citizens blood?

The Israeli cabinet member member who said that is crazy but he is one person in a democracy.

As for bringing up Netanyahu who allowed  Qatar to send money for salaries and infrastructure in Gaza. Well talk about victim blaming!
