  1. "Better start learning how to deal with the effects" They are, read the IPCC reports
  2. This is unverified. Nobody has seen or had access to all the questions from YouGov. Yet the description gives some basic clues that dishonesty and deception is still rife with Fox news and their statements that are then carried by other outlets. A mere look at the chart should give one pause. You’ll note that the numbers displayed add up to 148 percent You can’t make this stuff up. Read the fine print… Q1: which news sources do you follow Q2: *of those sources* which do you trust most… So all this actually shows is that Fox News viewers live in an information bubble. Fox News claims to be the ‘most trusted.’ Is it? More aptly, Fox is the outlet that the most people cite as being among their most trusted outlets. But on the whole, Americans have trusted it less than they trust plenty of others. But a mere look at the chart should give one pause. You’ll note that the numbers displayed add up to 148 percent. So this isn’t strictly about which one outlet is “most trusted.” The description of the data in the ad, in fact, shows that the pollster asked about media outlets people watch and then “which do you most trust for news? Check as many as apply.” So 41 is the percentage of people who cited Fox as being among however many outlets they cited as being their most trusted. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/04/17/fox-news-most-trusted-ad-poll/ Fox News Mocked For Ad Claiming It's The 'Most Trusted' TV News Network Fox News apparently decided to make a statement on the eve of its defamation suit with Dominion Voting Systems ― and it went to The New York Times to do it. On Monday, the network paid for a full-page ad in the paper declaring itself the most trusted TV network in news, citing stats based on a recent YouGov poll. HuffPost has reached out to YouGov for a full copy of the poll data, but in the meantime, it’s worth noting that evidence shows many of the network’s hosts and executives promoted false theories about supposed election fraud that they themselves did not believe ― so perhaps not all of that viewer trust is necessarily warranted. https://news.yahoo.com/fox-news-mocked-ad-claiming-175655544.html
  3. "And cities are doing NOTHING to turn themselves into 15-minute cities. " Apart from the 16 that are you mean? 16 cities worldwide that have implemented the 15-minute city concept or similar ideas https://www.dw.com/en/15-minute-cities-what-are-they-and-how-do-they-work/a-64907776
  4. Seems the Sheriff is too scared to serve legal notice on Bundy Attorneys for St. Luke’s Health System have asked the Idaho Supreme Court to weigh in after an Idaho sheriff said his office will no longer serve far-right activist Ammon Bundy with legal papers, citing concerns over safety. https://news.yahoo.com/idaho-sheriff-refuses-serve-ammon-200936700.html
  5. Thailand temp, its hot and getting hotter. https://climateknowledgeportal.worldbank.org/country/thailand/climate-data-historical
  6. I was replying to a post on sea levels not temperatures, regards modeling forecasts they have actually been quite accurate, the most respected ones fall within a decent margin, some below and some above actual temp rise. "Climate models published since 1973 have generally been quite skillful in projecting future warming. While some were too low and some too high, they all show outcomes reasonably close to what has actually occurred" Here's just one example of many from this article, this one is from IPCC. The forecast is the black bold line, the others are the actual temperature recordings. This one from Hansen https://www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-how-well-have-climate-models-projected-global-warming/
  7. Shoreham on list of places that could be lost to sea by 2050 due to climate change https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/news/environment/shoreham-on-list-of-places-that-could-be-lost-to-sea-by-2050-due-to-climate-change-4033177 UK sea levels have risen 6 inches since 1900
  8. They were obviously not one of the 6 percent of Americans who do own an AR-15, about 1 in 20. From your wiki. "Many hunters prefer using AR-15 style rifles because of their versatility, accuracy, wide variety of available features, and wide variety of calibers" So that "many hunters" is actually a tiny minority of AR-15 owners.
  9. Yes seriously a sample size that matched previously with polls from previous estimates from The National Shooting Sports Foundation and the National Firearms Survey. Do you really need explaining how Ipsos poll's work Do you have anything to counter it aside from "I don't care"
  10. Because of the data: Self-defense was the most popular reason AR-15 owners in the poll gave for buying the gun. Around one-third listed it as the main reason for ownership, but nearly two-thirds said that it was “a major reason” for purchasing the rifle. https://thereload.com/poll-one-in-twenty-americans-own-an-ar-15/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/documents/41d170dc-1838-4772-a4e4-29d268264e12.pdf?itid=lk_inline_manual_2
  11. The majority of AR-15/assault rifle owners don't buy them for hunting though so not sure what your point is.
  12. Only the gun nuts could disagree with that. Lots more to be done but great news. No country should have assault rifles freely for sale to its civilians. Also from the link: Plus: Besides this year's assault weapons ban, Washington lawmakers also passed a bill that will impose a new 10-day waiting period on firearm purchases, as well as require people to complete firearms safety training before they can buy a gun.
  13. How about 5,000 years............. https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/features/GlobalWarming/page3.php
  14. No that's not the decision they are making, the info is in the OP link, in the US the abortion pill is only used up to a max 11th week. Anyway, they've pushed back their decision till Friday.
  15. I guess Clarence is back from one of his vacations for this sitting
  16. Agree with that. Map of one of the ships mapping the wind farms from the link. Look how close to the UK its going.
  17. During the Holocaust, children were especially vulnerable to death under the Nazi regime. According to estimations, 1.5 million children https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Children_in_the_Holocaust
  18. OP on it here: https://aseannow.com/topic/1292493-gop-megadonor-harlan-crow-isnt-charging-clarence-thomas-mother-rent-zillow-estimates-suggest-that-would-have-saved-her-155000-since-2014
  19. Not seeing the difference, and at least RU has a plausible excuse, maybe. Yea, right, there is no plausible excuse for war crimes, mass murders, rapes and kidnapping. I'll wait for you to reply with your current mode of "I don't care"
  20. Sensationalism? Really? We are talking about a supreme court judge who has for the last two decades taken free, donated private jet set luxury vacations. Island hopping is superyachts, violating laws that require you to disclose most gifts. All from one billionaire Republican megadonor Harlan Crow. But that's not all. The same megadoner bought properties from Clarence, not only bought them, renovated one of them where Clarences mother now lives rent free. If that's not got you facing reality yet then perhaps the fact that Clarence has also been over the last two decades, reportedly failing to accurately report hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of income from a family holding company and claimed rents from a company that no longer exists. You claim this is "minor things"?
  21. Whats woke got to do with it? Twitter faces a whopping fine in Germany which is more than its net worth As per a report by Techcrunch, more than 600 cases regarding hate speech on Twitter are pending before German courts. Adding fuel to the fire, earlier this week, Germany had announced an investigation into "suspected systemic failures under the country’s hate speech takedowns law". As per Techcrunch, the law, known colloquially as NetzDG, allows for fines of up to 50 million euros per case. Last year, The New York Times had reported major increases in hate speech since Musk took Twitter October-end and fired staff in Germany and axed the content-moderation team in the US. https://www.cnbctv18.com/technology/twitter-faces-a-whopping-fine-in-germany-which-is-more-than-its-net-worth-16366461.htm
  22. If only, hindsight is a wonderful thing but this one cost Ukraine, the West and thousands of Ukraine lives. Clinton regrets persuading Ukraine to denuclearize in 1994 Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said in an interview with RTÉ that he regrets persuading Ukraine to give up its nuclear arsenal. “I feel a personal stake because I got them (Ukraine) to agree to give up their nuclear weapons. And none of them believe that Russia would have pulled this stunt if Ukraine still had their weapons,” he said. https://news.yahoo.com/clinton-regrets-persuading-ukraine-denuclearize-220402205.html
  23. Next up, Smartmatic, which is seeking $2.7bn and they are a much larger company than Dominion
  24. Now also picked up by CNN Two Russians claiming to be former Wagner commanders admit killing children and civilians in Ukraine Two Russian men who claim to be former Wagner Group commanders have told a human rights activist that they killed children and civilians during their time in Ukraine. The claims were made in video interviews with Gulagu.net, a human rights organization targeting corruption and torture in Russia. In the video interviews posted online, former Russian convicts Azamat Uldarov and Alexey Savichev – who were both pardoned by Russian presidential decrees last year, according to Gulagu.net – describe their actions in Ukraine, during Russia’s invasion. https://edition.cnn.com/2023/04/17/europe/wagner-commanders-russia-kill-children-intl-hnk/index.html
  25. "Twitter is not involved in political censorship under new leadership." Really? This from just a couple of weeks ago. The Indian government issued notices to Twitter Twitter agreed to block more than 120 accounts, including the Canadian politician Jagmeet Singh, the Canadian poet Rupi Kaur, several journalists and an Indian MP. Twitter also blocked the handle of the BBC’s Punjabi bureau. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/apr/05/twitter-accused-of-censorship-in-india-as-it-blocks-modi-critics-elon-musk
