Bkk Brian replied to Rimmer's topic in Political Soapbox
Looks like he's bottling that unless Trump gives the nod which is doubtful: Keir Starmer's surrender of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius hangs in the balance - as Labour ministers 'seek Donald Trump's approval before deal is signed' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14285227/Mauritius-set-sign-Keir-Starmers-surrender-Chagos-Islands-TODAY-just-days-Donald-Trump-returns-president.html -
Is the harsh criticisms of Sir Keir Starmer fair and justified
Bkk Brian replied to Rimmer's topic in Political Soapbox
Its up to a leader to pick wisely his own advisors and ditch them quickly if they're not up to the role. End of the day the buck stops with the leader. -
The baddies coming together. Russia, North Korea and now Iran which is the head of its own axis of evil, all with a strategic partnership agreement. The one with NK means a defense agreement should one of their countries get attacked, similar to the NATO article 5. One of the reasons NK soldiers are now helping Russia fight Ukraine in the Kursk region. Now what happens if the west decides to strike Iranian nuclear facilities?

The civilians that sold hostages to Hamas when they captured them are not holding them anymore, correct. The hostages that were rescued after being held by civilians, a prominent Palestinian journalist actually, are not being held by civilians anymore, correct. They are back in Israel and the civilians who held them killed in a shoot out with the IDF. How do you know there are no more hostages being held by civilians, do you have some insider knowledge on this or just making things up? How about UNRWA staff, are they holding any more hostages? Why has the civilian population been living in hell? Why do you think Trump and Vance do not want to have the hostages returned as preference? Lots of questions there I know you'll ignore...............

Trump Reiterates Warning to Hamas on Hostage Release
Bkk Brian replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Correct, lets get it back on topic now, deal in final stages. Lets hope its the real deal this time. Israeli officials: Deal will see 33 hostages freed in 1st stage, most of them alive Negotiations to free remaining captives to begin on 16th day of potential ceasefire deal; talks advanced after ‘tense’ meeting between Netanyahu, Trump envoy. Israeli diplomatic officials said on Monday evening that Israel was in the “advanced stages of the negotiations” with Hamas for a ceasefire deal that would see the terror group release some of the hostages it has been holding in Gaza since October 7, 2023, and ending more than 15 months of war. Briefing military and diplomatic reporters, the officials said there had been progress in the talks in Doha, which are being coordinated by mediator countries Qatar and Egypt and the outgoing and incoming US administrations, but stressed that “the deal is not finalized.” https://www.timesofisrael.com/israeli-officials-deal-will-see-33-hostages-freed-in-1st-stage-most-of-them-alive/ -
Israel Hamas War the Widening Middle East Conflict
Bkk Brian replied to Social Media's topic in The War in Israel
A ceasefire and hostage release is nearly on the cards and you think a few IDF refusing to fight is important. Not heard of a war yet where's that's not happened. Any news on Hamas, the actual terrorists or is it just the IDF you're quick to criticize? -
No its not true, from just two of the reports and there are many: Rotherham Rotherham Council commissioned an independent inquiry led by Alexis Jay. In August 2014 the Jay report concluded that an estimated 1,400 children[17] had been sexually abused in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013, predominantly by British-Pakistani men.[15] Telford A report from a three-year inquiry into the scandal was released in July 2022. It revealed that more than 1,000 girls had been abused over a 40 year period, and that agencies blamed them for the abuse they suffered, not the perpetrators, and some cases were not investigated because of "nervousness about race", a large proportion of offenders were described as being of South Asian, particularly Pakistani, origin

Labour has a large majority the vote was symbolic, I already gave you a link on this. It was done to keep the pressure up to get a new National Enquiry. As for the continuing pressure. Starmer open to U-turn on grooming gangs inquiry, Downing Street says https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/starmer-grooming-gangs-inquiry-badenoch-musk-b2675866.html That's the headline, the article however: Sir Keir’s spokesperson said they would “reject” claims it was a U-turn, instead saying the government was pursuing a “victims-first approach”. How fortunate...........

Theses gang rapes have been happening and covered up for over 20 years actually and the ones investigated have been in the majority Pakistani Muslims grooming gangs. To say its not still going on is also wide off the mark. In the last 12 months a team of expert investigators and analysts has helped police forces arrest over 550 suspects.
