  1. Try Hua-Hin Steel supplies which is located on the R.H.S. of the Phetchkasem road about 2kms past soi 126 going towards Pranburi. They have all forms of steel in stock, also 6m lengths of 'plastic' sheeting which I used to cover my car port and sunbathing areas - which they delivered for free for me. They will also cut to length for you for free. Hope this helps.

I remember some years ago that they tried to make a law regarding the level or strength of tint that could be used. There was such an uproar that the idea was dropped.

A few years ago, at the grand old age of 70 I went on a self driving 28 day golfing holiday to Malaysia. I Checked on the rules regarding the level of 'Tint' allowed and was told that if your vehicles level of tint exceeded the maximum allowed in Malaysia you would not be allowed across the border unless the tint was removed. As I was waiting to cross the border I saw a Merc having its tint removed so they do implement the law in Malaysia. Pity that they don't in Thailand!

  3. Some years ago I was doing my own research on how to cleanse hospital PPE equipment and found that the use of 'Ozone Gas' was capable of killing off germs and virus's extremely quickly and had been used (and might still be used) to 'clean' operating theaters etc and I am perplexed why they are not using this to 'clean' used PPE as it is a dry cleaning process which is dirt cheap?

I am not a medical expert, but I would be very interested to hear from people who have knowledge of the use of ozone gas as to why it is NOT being used to recycle PPE gear. I look forward to hearing from experts in this field.

I’ve had the same problem in my early days could be over watering then root rot... maybe also a rootstock problem.. most trees here are grafted onto pomelo and I’m my opinion that’s not so good.. we graft onto troyer, Kleo, rangpur and volka. Again had problems buying in diseased stock so now we grow our own rootstocks.

Which of the 'Lemon' trees is the closest to what I call proper lemons that you would use for G&T's please? I had a friend, who unfortunately is no longer with us,but he had two massive 'Lemon' trees in his garden in Hua-Hin and they were heaving with lemons. He swore that it was because he peed on them each day!

Instead of closing the border, why he is still playing with unproven ideas? What can't they learn for other countries. This is such a shame. Valuable times wasted and risking people's lives. Can't they see the pattern. Few days of 30+ cases and then it jumped to 60. Don't they study exponential growth in schools/colleges?

They wouldn't even know what you re talking about. Even 'University degrees' issued in Thailand are just worthless pieces of paper not even recognised in the 'real world'.

  6. I would highly recommend the 'Hua-Hin Dental clinic'. A very nice Lady who does an excellent job at very reasonable prices. I have been using her for some 12 years. Dr Warangkana Wongnairat 10/91-92 Phechkasem Road. Soi 104/2 Hua-Hin. Tel 089-778-4074.

A friend of mine who lives in Greece asked me to get a rough quote for some very difficult dental work which proved to be one third the cost of his Greek dentist and this was completed whilst he was on holiday here in HH, he was extremely satisfied with the work.

Sounds like a real mess. Poor Management, many foreclosed units, no system in place to collect delinquent dues, etc. Makes me really appreciate living in a well run condo development. We have yearly AGM meetings that are attended by over half the owners, elect a committee that overseas the management (a separate company from the developer) and approves all expenditures, and delinquent fees are dealt with quickly.

Oh, and did I mention that out of the 200 units, only 12 are farang owned?

    TH

I would be very interested to know how your 'deal with deliquent payers'?

Pent up demand then later in the year sales will be huge.

I own the stock but not the phone. Never got why or could justify the cost.

It seems like one of those ridiculous "look at me" purchases. Especially here paying more then one months salary for a phone. Like getting a drink at Starbuck's and posting it on Facebook. Wow, great congratulations you have truly made it.

Yes, same feeling myself. I personally don't need to be looking at my emails and Facebook pages (i don't have an account and don't want one) as I go about my daily life. Ridiculous price, for what I consider to be a 'grownups dummy'. I am quite happy, just having a phone. I do understand, that some people need to have a 'Smartphone' for their business, but most people seem to have them to look at trivia all day. I certainly won't be crying that Apple products are slow to come out of China.

Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, diner, snack.

That is a typical American lifestyle approach to eating, almost always eating and drinking to excess. I tend to have one good meal a day with lots of vegetables, which satisfies me, but you can get hung up on dieting, which fortunately I do not have to do and I am 76 years old.

Lol, I love the place and have been visiting since 1998 but Cambodia is 10x worse than Thailand for filth and pollution.

Good god. I was thinking of doing a trip to Cambodia, but on the basis of your comment I will give it a miss thank you!

It seems to me, that if the ultimate person at the top of the tree in Thailand just came out and decreed that he wanted to have a competition for the cleanest kept village/town in Thailand; which would receive a 'Special Prize', one for the best village and one for the best town donated by same very rich person to be spent on infrastructure of said village/town, then I reckon that a good 90%+ of Thai's would change their ways and comply willingly. Also (said same person) would instruct (NO demand) that Thai people should be taught in school NOT to shame Thailand by leaving rubbish around and to pass this 'instruction' on at home to their parents because said same top of the tree person told them to do so! It wouldn't take much money - far less than a Chinese submarine to provide flip top bins for the disposal of rubbish in around the whole of Thailand, and make these compulsory in all towns and villages. Make the 'Award of the Best Kept/Cleanest Village/Town' very prominent in the media and place lots of pictures of the awarded places. Also 'Shame' some of the worst places they have seen - nothing I believe scares the sh2t out of the Thai's more than loosing face.

I suppose, the above is just a pipe dream if the truth be known; but this is what I would start with if it was upto me- which sadly it isn't! Start with the simple things, and build on them in the coming years. There IS a way 'back', but it needs leadership from the very top and I don't mean any politician or military personage!

    Go explain this to the Thai authorities while you are a farang;
they will laugh at you; a farang does not understand Thailand ..

Right, the incubation can go up to 14 days without any sign of anything, so no fever, no nausea, nothing,

Taking the temperature of arrivals is the same as cutting soft butter with string or putting a plaster on a wooden leg.
    it is useless at all.

I hate to think of what the staff who have been working on all these flights from China must be going through, they must be worried sick (pardon the pun).

    It's not a retirement visa.

It's an extension of stay based on retirement.

Thai often call extensions retirement Visa.

Exactly as on tm30 they asked for your visa #. That's where you write reentry permit # for your current permission of stay.

Please, argue all you like; but I was merely pointing out, that my new 12 month visa had the word 'Retirement' stamped on it which I don't recollect seeing before, but I will take another look at my passport when I've got nothing better to do!!!

This pedantic-ism happens every time someone like myself uses the term 'Retirement visa'. But you have to renew your objections to the term don't you?

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I also provided the IMO with a map of where my house is located.

    Ok, thanks for the reply.

Anyone have a link to an official immigration document with the latest requirements for retirement extension or should this be obtained from the local immigration office?

Sorry, I don't have a 'link'; but I have this morning renewed my 'Retirement Visa' at the Hua-Hin IMO (and please don't tell me that it's not a retirement visa because it is stamped 'Retirement') in my passport! I am on a Non O visa from way back when some 13 years ago.

The documents I had to show where:-

Copies of the the main page of my passport.

    Copies of previous 'retirement' stamp.

Copies of my 'Blue Book' (house document).

    One small photograph of myself.

Documents supplied by the SCB Bank obtained this morning showing the balance of my account (cost 200 B) and a print out of my bank book details showing inputs and withdrawals for about the last 6 months.

    Pay 1900 B fee.

As usual you have to sign the blxxdy lot.

At HH IMO (the new one, miles out of town!!!) they have a bloke who takes all your documents etc and fills in the form for you and then gives you a numbered ticket. I got there about 1115 and was out by 1200.

My previous visa would have expired on the 28th of January and in my passport it states that I was granted a new one on the 23rd of January that will expire on the 28th of January 2021.

    I hope that this helps.

  14. I call these 'Smartphones' the grownups dummy!. I would like to see the reaction from a day when the internet stopped working for about 6 hours, I can imagine that the psychiatrist couches would be inundated with clients suffering from withdrawal syndromes. Where did the art of conversation go to, it's DEAD!!! I regularly go into restaurants and see couples who NEVER speak a word to each other throughout the meal and are texting all the time whilst they eat. If you are using this for business or for urgent reasons then I can totally understand using them, but not this incessant need to check the blxxdy things every 20 seconds; are you that important??

I would like to see somebody; who has got the guts to set up a restaurant, that has a Faraday Cage where it blocks all mobile communications and I think I would call the place 'Let's Talk' - worth a try for somebody brave enough to test the waters out I'm sure. I'm sure that this place would garner the middle to older age clientele who would like to eat in a nice quiet environment, come on you entrepreneurs give it a try!
