“Exactly what I was thinking. I'm under 55 and got an appointment for this week, which should not be the case due to my age and lack of medical conditions- I'd rather have one of the doses of Pfizer the US just sent over than Sinovac.“
Very frustrating to read as I’m close to 62 and haven’t heard a peep.

200 baht for one report. Yes, the passport came back with next 90 day due date.
Honestly for the convenience the 200 baht was well worth it.

My 90 day reporting service, part of a travel agency, may have shut their doors.
Can anyone recommend someone they like, near Santitham, Nimmenhaimen area?
I was charged 200 baht for the convenience.

I make use of all three services for food delivery. Each service has their own delivery fees.
For example, on Tuk recently, they added 40 baht for delivery. Grab charged me 15 baht a few days ago.
Does the driver get that delivery money?
If anyone can tell me how the drivers get paid for each service, that would be very helpful in tipping.
Thanks in advance!

I really took advantage of the bus service in Chiang Mai, pre Covid.
From my neighborhood, 20 baht to Central Plaza was a great deal.
Any idea of when if ever the buses will roll again?
When I rode, I saw mostly Thais on board, so they didn’t strike me as much of a tourist convenience.

Went to CM MediClinic. 700 baht for shot. She was so good with administering that I didn’t even feel it. No soreness, no problems later.
I’m over 60.

As a walker, I journey across my fair share of marked crosswalks in Chiang Mai.
Without a traffic light, it can be risky. I notice cars that are zooming towards me rarely let up in speed. You would think a cautionary driver would slightly let up on the gas. Even a tad. I give myself plenty of room of course but one has to wonder about pedestrian rights.
With a traffic light, it seems worse. Next to my hotel, you can push the crosswalk button and the traffic light turns red. And still plenty of bikes and cars running right through the red light. I’ve never seen a cop once. They would make a fortune in fines. I tell others not to cross immediately but wait two seconds to see who is zooming and who is slowing up to stop.

Do you know if the flu vaccine being administered here is the same at the one that is being administered in the US?
The one I received at CM MediClinic was same as US. It’s considered Northern Hemisphere. They will be happy to talk to you. They emailed me:
Thank you for contacting CM Mediclinic. New Flu vaccine that is available now is for winter/spring2020-2021 which is the same one as in the U.S. Please let us know if you would like to book an appointment. The cost is 750 baht.
Pretty much all of Asia is in the Northern Hemisphere, except for Indonesia. Anyway SEA is in the subtropical or tropical zone which will be affected by both hemisphere so we have flu activity throughout the year not only in winter. This time of year the new flu vaccine will be northern hemisphere strains.

it was probably lost in translation
from you to her or from her to you
or maybe she doesn't understand very well your exact question
it's 25% for Grab and 75% for her, otherwise nobody should be interested to do the job
still a low price for the course indeed
Ahhh.....then OK with that. ????

Took a GRAB ride this morning for a flu shot. It was raining and the convenience plus the nice car was well worth about 80 baht. Honestly other modes of CM transport doesn’t compare.
I did ask the driver how much she gets of the 80 baht and she told me 25%. When we arrived I gave her a 20 baht tip, basically doubling her income for the ride. She gave me a 1000 watt smile.
Just curious if she was telling the truth. GRAB gets 75%? Not a bad profit.

Ended up getting the flu shot at CM Mediclinic (north of Maya Mall) for 699 baht. In and out.

Just curious if anyone has researched getting a flu shot in Chiang Mai. I stopped by RAM hospital and was told to come back in November.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, whether where to go and/or cost.

Been swiping with Tinder for years. Met some nice ladies through the app.
But there is a small fairly transparent scam currently running: an attractive woman swipes right on your picture. Usually in her 20’s , with Chinese writing. Says she is from Hong Kong but currently living (stuck) in CM, fashion designer, jewelry designer, something like that. Wants to talk on LINE or WhatsApp. Once there will make innocuous small talk (mine likes badminton!) and then ask if you like stocks in the next sentence.
No biggie. When you call them out, they are quickly done with you. Mine deleted me in a nanosecond. Must be some dude in a Bangkok or Hong Kong dank hole looking to hook a money whale.
Tough economic times. Still just a friendly buyer beware.

Work all day in crappy hazardous air...then jam 15 of them into trucks for ride home. Social distancing? Ha!
I feel for the workers.
Management is damn cruel.

Much ado about nothing. Thais are very nice. And most extremely honest. You will be fine. Once a songtha driver took advantage of me for 10 baht, .33 cents.
Put google translate on your phone. Most Thais speak little English.
Maybe don’t mention women’s soccer. USA beat Thai women 13 to zilch. I’m Canadian for the next few days. ????

View Doi Mansion on Morakot Road , near Santitham Circle, is highly recommended, but it is 6 years since I have actually been in the place.

Their own website seems to have expired.
What a great website! Thanks much!

Staying in a serviced apartment, off Huay Kaew Road, where you get a monthly rate, TV (some English,CNN,BBC), internet in the room, small frig. Studio room. About 6000 baht a month, with average of 2000 utilities (do like air con). Weekly cleaning.
Actually really like the place...
BUT, heavy construction across the soi. Another hotel being built. Expect it to go on for many more months.
Wondering if anyone could recommend a serviced apartment (10,000 baht range) where you get the amenities already included with the price? Possibly in same neighborhood of Kad Suen Kaew, Maya, Nimmenhaimen.
Thank You for your suggestions....

Is NIM Plaza the area just North of Central Airport Mall? Do you remember any other shops in NIM Plaza that may be on Google Maps?

Problem with headphone shopping is most stores don’t have a pair you can try on. A problem if you are looking for an expensive pair. I’m interested in spending up to 6000 Baht, so mid range I guess in price.
Just curious if if anyone can recommend a store in CM that has a nice assortment, with ones you can try on.
Thanks!

But this morning coming into my office it was the worst I have ever seen it..... and that was just by eye sight. Got the mask on now. By the way ...... can anyone tell me how to have my morning coffee?? Can I get a straw with a filter anywhere?
Yes, 7-11 just started selling N95 masks with straws attached. I bought six. They graciously put them in a plastic bag. ????
