  1. They need to talk with other countries that have 3 weeks quarantine on arrival back in their home country reduced.
  2. I get it from the fact that any foreigner could walk down to wherever they were dishing them out and get them for free - whilst Thai people could not. Some in these forums boasting about it and contemplating whether they should bother or not. Even wondering where they can get their 3rd shot “booster”. as someone else posted - there were 2,300 Thais (first I’ve heard of it) able to get Pfizer.. only a few more to go.
  3. It has nothing to do with what you are saying. Free Pfizer should not be limited to foreigners. They should be getting free sinovac / sinopharm like everyone else.
  4. My gf had booked and paid for modern for her and 5 others in her family. Was supposed to be getting first shot October 1rth. Was told last week that shipments of modern are delayed until sometime Jan to May next year. If she wants to even have the possibility of travelling, she will have to get sinopharm now and look at modern boosters later. Why foreigners have been able to get Pfizer for free ahead of Thai nationals is beyond me.
  5. The problem is there’s many places internationally that won’t allow entry without a vaccination record. So my gf who had contacted both original and delta - still has to get a vaccine to travel. It’s insane.
  6. Any chance someone can link the same news is in a Thai publication?
  7. Sadly this is the reality. My girlfriend booked and paid for modern and was promised October for first jab. Was told about a week ago that she can expect it now sometime from Jan to May 2022. That's way too long to wait, so she's booked in for Dino-harm (ha, that was the spell check) Sinopharm, and nice she can't cancel the modern, will either sell her shot or use it as a booster. What a S Show.
  8. Are they restricting entry to vaccinated only? Including domestic? For me it doesn’t matter two brass farthings if it’s true or not, if they can BS the hkg government that it’s for real - they may reduce quarantine back in hkg.
  9. Probably a naive question - but isn’t this all coordinated through lawyers?
  10. Exactly the reason those of us in HKG can't go to Thailand. Was planning on a trip in Jan if they can get it back to 1 week or less. Once it was realised covid wasn't ebola and those that want to be vaccinated have been - there's not much else that can be done. Time to open up.
  11. I tried them out for a while and found there to be more cons than pros. the big one is if they think you've damaged something. And they can basically turn around and blame anything on you. I've also had my "confirmed" booking cancelled as early as 3 days before arrival causing us to scramble to find something else. Pretty stressful. I decided to stick with one hotel chain and make use of their specific membership deals and prefer that.
  12. There are pros and cons for all of the options to buy. If you are happy with your circumstances and aware of the possible outcomes, then great. One option that I am considering for a property under 6mil is to loan the money to my girlfriend and register that loan (mortgage). not all areas allow this, so it would need to be looked into. 1) You can set up the registered mortgage (means at any time you can force her to sell and pay your loan back. If she is uncooperative, you can go to court. I've taken 4 people to court in the last 18 months and it's actually very easy to do). 2) Set up a usurfruct to allow you to stay there for more or less forever. 3) An MOU in the case you die or she dies - what happens to the mortgage. Or a combination of all 3 Better to be done before you get married. everyone's situation is different. But it's another option some may not have heard of. And obviously best to go through a proper lawyer. I also think if you're looking to invest, your money is probably better off elsewhere. But if you want to live and enjoy and don't need to rely on the purchase - then you just need to protect yourself as best you can.
  13. I watched an interview if a cop in the uk who went undercover for about 12 months, got trusted, had to do pretty horrendous things to gain that trust, risking his life and family safety etc. eventually his unit had caught the ones they wanted to catch etc all happy. Only to find out that they managed to stop the flow of drugs for about 4 hours.
  14. Thanks. It's looking a bit advanced, but I'll have to sit down with my TGF and go through these as to which would be the most appropriate for the situation. Cheers
  15. Well you could have gone with the "don't eat yellow snow" in Thai, which wood have been funnier
  16. I'll probably get a few confused emojis from this, but I was hoping there may be a basic safety education resource / website available in Thai. Things that may be common sense to us, but to an uneducated person or young child may not be obvious. For example, "Don't touch power point that is wet or with wet hands", "Turn off power point before removing plug", "Don't drink water from a lake / river / where animals have been" I appreciate the list could be endless, but there might be a resource somewhere. Cheers
  17. What’s also open to interoperation by the officer on the day I guess, is if you must stay in one country that is acceptable for 21 days prior or can you have done a week in 3 different acceptable countries for a total of 21 days?
  18. Yes. This has put my plans in limbo. Hopefully it can return to group “B“ before the end of the year. But I doubt it.
  19. Hkg is currently not considered a “highly dangerous category”. That may change, but hkg has 3 levels and Thailand is listed as group B. https://www.coronavirus.gov.hk/eng/inbound-travel.html
  20. Depends. If you do an anti body test from a recognised lab in hkg (valid for 3 months), then you only need to do 1 week quarantine on return to hkg (from Thailand - which could change if Thailand goes from being moderate risk to high risk). If you haven’t done the antibody test in hkg (because your starting your flight outside of hkg), You can do the antibody test on arrival into hkg - and if all ok, only do the 7 days quarantine. (problem with this is that you have to book 2 weeks quarantine before you leave Thailand - then try and cancel the second week if your antibody test on arrival is ok) it’s ridiculous how they keep changing the process. As for the guy getting double vaxed with sino… not sure why he’d do that when Pfizer is free and just as easy and available. I’d consider getting a Pfizer booster if I were him, for what it’s worth.
