so,
if they dont cut the corner off the emergency passport until I receive the new one,
then (in theory), if my passport does take more than 30 days, I can try to get an extension for 7 days in my ETD at Chang Wattana ?
i imagine they have no idea of knowing that my ETD is not valid.
and once the real passport arrives, then I go back to them and switch visa over.
I am sure they are none the wiser (and I avoid overstay fee).
but the BEST option is that it takes less than a month, and then everything is fine
As far as I am aware , the old PP/ETD isnt invalidated until the corner is cut off .
That would make sense, because if it became invalidated as soon as you applied, then you would be in Thailand with no valid travel documents, which would be illegal
MY PP had already arrived at Tendy house and I received notification to go and collect it , but I still went to immigration and had my (then) current Visa extended for another month .
When you get the new PP, theres no need to go to an internal immigration office , just leave the Country as normal and immigration at the border will do everything necessary

I think you are pushing your luck getting the passport within 30 days. Even if you complete the application online you still have to get an appointment at the passport office to submit the application. IMO you'd be better off flying back to the UK and getting the passport there. They offer a 1 day and 1 week fast track services.
It is quite easy to get an appointment at Trendy house for the very next day, you just have to select an early time slot , before 9.30 AM .
Mine took exactly three weeks to arrive .
There is no point in him applying on line, this will just complicate the issue , he just need to download the application forms, get them all filled in, and signed by a witness , get a current bank statement , get his photos done and take everything to Trendy house to get it checked and sent off

I would assume that you are replacing a damaged passport,
Although it would be easier to just say that your old passport is full and that is the reason why you are applying for a new on,e much more straight forward

Do you think there is any way to avoid the corner being cut off until i actually receive the Full Passport ?
Trendy house only cut the corner off AFTER you have received the new PP, My old PP was still valid for use right up until I received my new PP and they cut the corner off as I received my new PP
-
I recently applied for a new UK PP at Trendy house and it took three weeks to get here (Fromm application date)
Your old PP is only made usable (corner cut off) when you receive the new PP .
Make sure that you take some documents with your current address on it, a Condo lease document isnt always acceptable .
Try to get a current Bank statement, ask for it to be in English, which will save you having to get the document translated

i wonder if these girls will get 50 years ? i don't think so
I think that they will, what makes you think that they will not?
For a second offence, carrying 1000 pills warrants a 20 year jail term

There re some Families from villages who think that every Felang gets given a plastic bank card and they can to to any and every ATM machime in town and take out 10 000 Baht from each and everyone one everyday .
And the only reason that the Felang doesnt go to every ATM machine and talking out 10 000 Baht from each one everyday and giving all the money to the family is because the felang just doesnt care about the family

Wow Max - thanks for the astute word picking - - that was probably why I used the word "LIKE" - - but if you are going to pick at words on a forum like this where people are just typing w/little proof reading, you are going to be very busy...
look, I was just trying to help the guy out.
and what about you?
I was just replying to what you wrote .
If you didnt actually mean "grovelling", but a word "like grovelling"
You really should have used the word that better describes what you wanted to say

If you insist on them thanking you, for some of them, it is like asking them to grovel -
Two very different situations "Grovelling" is when you have act in a certain way in order to obtain something . Saying "thank-you" is showing appreciation AFTER someone has given you something

I did count the pages as you were turning them in the video , You can also see page 19 clearly written on one of the pages . I also counted the pages as you turned then over from page 19 and the last page, which I counted as being page 32, the last page in a UK standard PP had a visa in the page .
Your Pssport was full up

Looking at the video, its seems like your passport was full up .
Its usually required for there to be at least three empty pages .
Is that the reason why Laos wouldnt let you in ?
Your PP was full ?
-
Why dont you contact the School and ask them how much it costs ?
-
Surely you are the best person to judge that ?
Work out their living expenses and that will be the figure that you are looking for

Was there a question that you would like answered ?

I assume you failed to read my earlier post. He was denied entry for an invalid passport.
I did read that, but that was from a standard letter .
His PP was valid, otherwise they wouldnt have let him leave Thailand just previously .
His PP was valid , but maybe it was invalid to travel into Thailand because of no Laos exit stamp .

Why go to Savannakhet?
Without a new passport or emergency travel document he would likely be denied entry again as soon as they see the denial of entry stamp.
As far as Im aware, he only got denied entry into Thailand because he didnt have a Laos Exit stamp .
And it was the Laos side that made a fuss about his PP and they told him to get an emergency travel documents .
If he gets stamped out of Laos properly this time and explains to the Thai side about why he got refused entry last time , they may let him in again .
-
I would go to Savanakhet, apply for a Thai visa there .
Cross that border and then apply for a new passport from Bangkok
-
Some does know what they are there for, but they just havent asked him
-
BTW, the 30 day Visa Exempt Stamp can be extended by another 30 days from Thai immigration for 1900 Baht
-
You get a 30 day visa exemption stamp .
I have gotten one there myself last month .
That "Thai Embassy " website isnt the official Thai Embassy website, its a private business .
I have never been asked to show a ticket out the Country when arriving by land
I recently arrived in Thailand on a tourist visa on my departure card is stamped 15 th October 2016 giving me a 30 day visa , I read somewhere that the 30 day visa automatically extends to a 60 day visa with no need to go to a Imigrati
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Tourist Visas are valid for 60 days .
Whatever it says on your passport is the date you either have to leave Thailand or you have to get a visa extension at immigration .
No Visas are automatically extended
