I may be wrong, but it’s my understanding that if MF is excluded, that the gaggle of small parties banded together would have such small majority that MF will be able to move no confidence motion, dissolving the house and triggering re-elections….now if they wait until the appointed senate is disbanded in 2024 ? they would clearly sweep to a massive majority win based on recent trends

Haven’t time to read all responses, but it’s pretty obvious the required number of senators will jump onboard to save their soon to be redundant hides…if not they can always bring anutin and his 70 odd seats into the fold if reqd tho I’m sure they’d rather not…that would be a good move for the ganga entrepreneurs who otherwise must be feeling a bit nervous 

Agree with dinsdale I think the senate rats will abandon uncle and clamber onboard to get some favour with the new powerbrokers 

BTW with this senate - who now appoints a replacement when one retires/dies etc ?

and does this current model finish up at the next election or will it need to be legislated out ?
