  1. In suberban Ubon the local temple had a decent pack but during Covid numbers seem to have diminished noticeably…tough times and hungry mouths ? ????

anyway now as I walk my pack of 5 mongrels morning and arvo, they enjoy their little running battles with about 20 odd mutts spread across a few streets…but no street dogs all belong to a house even if most free range out on the street if they want

  2. Yes, Covid was/is real, the early incarnations  particularly, but almost every person I know young old underlying etc all likened omicron to at worst a very bad dose of flu.

and were all the restrictions and controls, (particularly freedom of movement for people to return to their own country) imposed legitimate ?? I would say no but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

I doubt anything was done maliciously but modern day risk control (ass covering) and media hysteria were my 2 biggest gripes.

  3. Another Leb bikie who thought he was smarter than the law lol enjoy the next 20yrs.

Was reported on Oz news tonight he knocked some other oz biker gangster  over there and was convicted of murder, but 2yr later miraculously downgraded to assault lol some cops in receipt of a serious brown paper bag there.

    story rings a bell now

  4. Couple of things.

Firstly, airport staffing eg immigration has nothing to do with the huge THAI check in issues last week, that is a matter solely for THAI airways and given their financial woes frankly I’m not surprised.

I flew in from Sydney on Saturday, landed at 16:30 zero queues and actually beat the luggage to the baggage claim and was upstairs checking into my 6pm domestic flight with time to spare. The queue up at Thai Smile was fairly long but thank god for the THAI gold card I was done in a few minutes.

so overall a very good experience, the immigration booth setup is new and if well staffed things should be ok going forward, also downstairs in domestic departures a significant facelift with even a nice little bar set up ????

  5. Thanks Sheryl and Lorry for your intel.

And yes i agree good therapy/exercise along with looking after yourself (sleep, food etc) goes a long way to managing these things, however with a few years more offshore work/travel than ain't always possible.

And given its been getting slowly worse for 10+yrs i'm not too optimistic of it fixing itself.

Hoping a treatment like this can at least be a circuit breaker, not expecting a silver bullet cure.

    Cheers

    Doug

  6. Hi,

Been suffering upper back + sciatic pain for nearly 20yrs, not debilitating but annoying for sport especially.

Now over 50 it's becoming a bit more persistent unless I manage very carefully. Obviously thai massage is great and helps but still come/go OS for work so not always available.

Had CT/mri few yrs back showed issues at C4/5 likely impinging on nerve.

Has anyone had the epidural injections to neck ?  if so how did you find it and looking for doctor recommendations likely in BKK and rough cost ?

    Cheers

    Doug

  7. KhunLA you present some very confusing arguments.

Is your advocating of tight border restrictions (useless as already proven, thailand's biggest outbreak triggered by illegal border crossings, mostly thais ) driven by your concern for the thai public ? yet you boast about travelling the country unvaccinated ?

Clearly unlike many here you have no desire (or means) to leave and re-enter the country, otherwise you wouldn't be sprouting such rubbish.

  8. Re-apply - paying particular attention to doc upload types ie JPEG and not using hotmail.

Things like hotel receipts suggest not scanning/saving but just download the receipt on your computer (usually PDF) and convert to required JPEG etc.

Also sounds like vax cert with QR code is a must, took me a while to figure out how to get that QR alone into the next box down but ended up doing screenshot on phone and attaching.

  9. Feel for ya, the system is pretty low grade.

I did mine 2 days ago, got approved QR back in <12hrs, i paid particular attention to type of attachments ie jpeg and used my gmail and spent a lot of time working out how to get a snip of my vax cert QR into correct box...fortunately have some young tech whiz with me on nightshift lol.

BTW that was for 1wk hotel ASQ in Bangkok, getting the pre-flight PCR for transit thru Singapore will be my last hurdle to jump.
