I would certainly NOT eat at a restaurant serving Cannabis in my meal! Perish the thought! I prefer fresh fruit and vegetables, not weed, from local farmers!

Wife is from Issan, cannabis is used in a couple of dishes there as a normal thing.  Helps with digestion and indigestion.  I worked in Shanghai in '87 and came down with serious stomach pains, cannabis dried and rolled up tight into a spherical pill was what was given to me.  Fixed me right up without any real psychotropic side effects.

Total agreement here. I travel back to the States frequently, a minimum of twice per year and I can tell you for a fact that Americans right now are rather joyless, and lacking in humor, they don't seem to be enjoying their lives very much, they're living, working, eating, and sleeping. Not much of a life, and many of them seem bitter, disenfranchised, disappointed, highly divided, and utterly joyless, no thanks.

Agree, I just got back 3 weeks ago (go back every year to work for 3 months) and have to say, even those well off financially are somewhat depressed.  Some of that comes as the America they grew up with and loved is being morphed into something where a kid can't just walk alone or bike blocks away to a friends house without someone wanting to call child services on the parents.  The idea a kid should never get hurt physically from playing or having to deal emotionally when your friends don't like you one day (but are back being friends 2 days later) or that a kid should never cry.  Crying as a kid means their upset about something but does not always mean something is wrong.  There is less socializing as people are more and more glued to screens in all forms, creating real emotional isolation and I think people subconsciously are aware of it leading to a mild type of depression.  It is also the 1st time in American history that the generations coming up will generally be worse off than their parents and grandparents unless handed generational wealth.  Lastly, there is also the gut feeling that now we, the US, are the bad guys in the world right now when we used to stand up for what was right.  Pretty much summed up here.

  3. Is there a link in the CM forum for the current paperwork requirements for Non-O Marriage extension renewal.  This will be my 2nd one.  Re-entered on a multiple reentry permit mid-May.  Current extension expires Aug 23rd.  Will have the money in for more than 2 months in a week.  Any guidance would be helpful.  AN word search looking specifically at CM requirements was unsuccessful.  Thanks in advance!

  4. So, as I get older, my nose is going out over my septum causing back pressure that is closing the opening between the nostril and the nasal cavity.  This needs rhinoplasty to fix.  Wife's suggestion is that if your going to do that, might as well do a face lift along with that.  Admit, excess eye skin is becoming an irritant also.  Question from the audience is if there are equitable medical facilities in CM for such or do I need to go to BKK to have this done.  Any direction on this would be appreciated.  As always, thanks in advance!

Thailand's Education Ministry is stirring the educational pot with the introduction of a new literacy-based curriculum across 4,400 state schools. Debuting this upcoming semester, the policy has ruffled some feathers as educators and experts voice concerns about the abrupt curriculum change.

Lecturer Athapol Anunthavorasakul from Chulalongkorn University has highlighted that teachers only learned of this major shift a couple of months ago, sparking confusion and frustration among the academic community.

The revamped curriculum will debut at the preschool and Prathom 1-3 levels, focusing on reading, writing, and maths skills as part of a lifelong learning strategy.

The Office of Basic Education Commission (Obec) claims the new courses are thoroughly researched and devised in consideration of the Thai context, supported by online resources and AI tools for teachers.

Despite these assurances, some educators feel overwhelmed by the short notice and additional training required to implement the new system.

Under the new plan, traditional GPA evaluations are replaced with skill-level assessments, categorised as beginner, developing, proficient, and expert. This significant shift away from core subject focus to skill-based learning is viewed as a bold step to lift the nation's educational standards.

However, many teachers are apprehensive, fearing an increased workload and complications in handling multiple teaching curriculums, particularly amidst transitioning students between old and new curriculum frameworks.

Critics, like Athapol, argue the rollout is premature, likening it to a "hot potato" scenario where schools are left to adjust with minimal support. Educators also question why the Competency-Based Curriculum, already being trialled in some regions, was not chosen instead.

Obec's Secretary-General, Thanu Wongchinda, remains optimistic, hoping the new educational approach will prepare Thai children for future challenges.

If successful, the new framework could extend to senior primary and secondary school levels. Despite the challenges, Obec pledges smooth transitions for students switching between different curricular systems.

"Under the new plan, traditional GPA evaluations are replaced with skill-level assessments, categorised as beginner, developing, proficient, and expert."  Love it, my wife was going on to be a teacher before she met me, had her college degree and everything.  She looks at teachers now and says they act like HiSoc's.

Rather than selecting a hospital consider the surgeon who will conduct the procedure. I have had treatment from Dr Chanakarn on shoulders and ankles with excellent results. A friend recently had a knee op and is very satisfied. Dr Chanakarn will allow you to choose your hospital and also has his own clinic for primary care on Charoenprathet Rd where in the evening he consults for about 2 hours but does not take bookings so it is a question of turn up and wait. He is a consultant to the national sports team and very busy but he is also very compassionate. You can find his clinic on Google.

Thanks for the response, I'll research him.  Hope all well!
