  1. Hi All,

I have a friend coming from the US to Thailand for a couple of months and he wants to spend a week in Patong with a part time GF found there in Patong.  The many times I have been to Bangla Walking Street, the girls working there are more tall, fair skinned, and working to look buxom in a model sort of way.  For appearance, he likes petite, sleek, brown to dark brown skin color.  Anyone know where in Patong he might have a higher probability of running into the temp girlfriend of his dreams?  As always, thanks in advance!

I guess it is still a fad to get Japanese or Chinese Kanji tattoos done these days. Not a fan myself, too easy to make some hilariously stupid errors. Saw a guy who had a weird tattoo so I asked him, "what does it mean".  He said "I think it is 'samurai', but some people laugh when they see it".  Actually, it meant "hemmorhoid"- the symbols for hemmorhoid and samurai are similar, and he had a foreign tattoo artist do his tat.

Wow, that guy must have been a total _ss hole!

You could say they are only providing what people want, the locals prefer some of the worlds worst beers. Leo made 3 good ones this year but did not take off, locals prefer tasteless weak fizz. I see Leo has an extra strong one out- 5.1% instead of 5% ????

Ya, I miss the old brown bottle Chang.  Much tastier and about 6.2%.  I think Beer Lao is about as close I can get to that memory for taste.

  4. Just received a rejection this morning for 90 day reporting on the website.  I have been back in the country since May after being gone 4 months, tried to do 1st 90 reporting on the website and got rejected, then went down to Chiang Mai immigration and it was done in 2 minutes with no problems and no questions.  Now I'm trying to do my second one online since returning and it was rejected saying TM30 does not show Chiang Mai.  I have been living in the same house for over 6 years, last TM30 I filed was Chiang Mai in Dec 2021.  I returned to my home after being out of the country for the 4 months.  Did something change with the rules (again!)?

  5. Soooo, I had a lot of firearms when in high school.  Am curious how BB guns can be .22 or higher adapted given the barrel construction for pressure between a BB gun and at the minimal a .22 cartridge.  In my day, 1/3rd of the HS pick up trucks had gun racks with guns in them in the school parking lot so you could go hunting right after school.  Nobody thought about about shooting up the school in '76.  My own guns in HS (bought from hours and hours working for Thrift Drug in the summer scooping ice cream and moping floors) were a Remington bolt action 7mm magnum rifle big game scope for deer and boar (you can see the shock wave), a Mossberg 12 gauge pump shotgun with 2 choke barrels, a Remington 1200 semi-automatic shotgun (probably the best they ever made), Mossberg .22 target rifle with big game scope (accurate as all hell from one hill to another with consistent dialed in ammunition), 5mm Remington rim fire rifle (small bullet, fast as hell), Ruger Mark 1 .22 pistol with target barrel (another great gun).  My buddies and I reloaded our own shotgun shells with our rotary shell loader while yakking on the phone at all hrs of the night.  My buddies and I were also the first in our HS to have calculators (even though we were pretty pretty slick on slide rules), we were in the top 8 kids to graduate and move on to college.  So ya, curious how the BIB saw these as a real threat unless just looking for $.

but samui in december is still rainy season, even well into january. There is no point going there, unless for cheap hotels.

Also getting to samui is expensive. There use to be seasonal russian charter flights to phuket and utapao, but I don't think I have heard about those to samui.

I think this article is just part of TAT advertising campaign

We just returned where 4 of us flew non-stop from Chiang Mai to Surat Thani, then take the coordinated bus/ferry to Samui.  Cost about 9,400 baht total for 4 people one way.  My son was able to get out of KMUTT university in Bangkok for a week to join us and it was over 8,000 baht on Bangkok Airways round trip.  Basically 18,800/4 = 4,700 baht per person round trip from CM to Samui vs 8,000 baht rt from BKK!  Monopolies are nice for those who own them ????

I moved my dishwasher into the home in 2016.

She's a bit old and worn now, but still manages to do the job.

It's important that the seals stay tight so not much sloppy leakage, they tend to wear out with age.  But hey, it's Thailand, I have found no matter the repair job, it can be done for a cheap price ????

If your extension is not approved on the 16th you ask them to cancel your extension and apply for 60 day extension to visit your wife if you you have not gotten one since your last entry with a visa.

If they did 60 day the extension it would start from the day your current extension ended and you would need a re-entry permit to enter the country.

Hi Joe, thanks for all of the great advice in the past.  Question is, if I'm on an extension of a non-O visa by virtue of marriage (obtained years ago and extended each year).  Can I get a 60 day visa extension to visit my Thai wife just before the current yearly extension expires?  Thanks in advance!

You will of course be aware Toyota manufacture a lot of their own parts through Denso, a company they partially own, and these parts are manufactured in Thailand......

And of course all auto companies can buy parts from whichever supplier they want, local or abroad.... Funny as reading this thread you would think Thailand is awful for manufacturers which makes it strange that off the top of my head i can think of the following auto companies with large facilities here:

Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, Suzuki, BMW, Ducati, MG, GWP, Hino, Mazda, Harley D, Triumph, Yamaha,

Apologies to all.  My mistake to take my past experience with Thai manufactured home goods and project that.
