Mate I agree. As I say heat wave or not it's hot. Should keep going like this for a few weeks or more. Out of interest this is how it's defined in AUS. The Bureau of Meteorology defines a heatwave as three or more days in a row when both daytime and night-time temperatures are unusually high—in relation to the local long-term climate and the recent past. There is no single temperature threshold for a heatwave in Australia. Ok guess it's not unusually high here. About normal for this time of year. Hot which I think is quite strange considering it's the HOT SEASON.????

Famous he is. A famous crim and a famous fool. Seems to have gone completly mad. "He was then confronted by an unidentified cannabis seller who asked him to stop his efforts, with the seller stating that smoking cannabis was better than being addicted to Yaba (speed pills)." Nice one. ???? Maybe it's digging into his profits. "He also showed alleged proof of an unidentified youth buying cannabis buds from an unnamed cannabis shop."???? Well there you go. You could sentence a person to death on that evidence.

Thai Health Experts Alleviate Public Concerns About New Covid-19 Variant
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Rather odd how you use this quote and not this one from the same article. "Front-line physicians said that severe cases of covid have plummeted from the virus’s peak in 2021, when the CDC said more than 3,000 people daily died of covid, but that infections remain a threat to vulnerable populations — and occasionally to otherwise healthy people." https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2023/04/16/covid-deaths-per-day/ The evidence is there about Omicron but you just refuse to see that overall it's not severe for the majority of people. There are none so blind as those who will not see. -

That was reported yesterday but happened before the 17th according to the article. No reports of any more since globally from what I've seen. -

Absolutely dilicious. Raw red ant eggs to those who don't know. One of my favourites. -
Thailand’s Som Tam voted 6th best salad in the world

I do like som tam thai though. On a scorcher like today it's nice with sticky rice and a cold beer or 3. Not over the top spicy but spicy. I'm really not sure if this article has got it right. Som tam thai is a central Thailand dish which as explained is different to Issan som tam. I very much doubt true Issan som tam would come 6th. What do you think? -

I wonder how the covid alarmistst will react when more people die from heatsroke than covid. Let's face more people have died on the roads today than from covid. Not sure about covid deaths today. Possibly zero. -

Amid joints and cookies, marijuana business booms in Thailand

https://nida.nih.gov/publications/research-reports/marijuana/marijuana-addictive Give this a read. It's interesting. As you say it's not addiction in the true definition. Nicotine addiction is. Opioid addiction is. -
Indeed. A very good point. Cheers. If this is this case though how will they be able to tell that booze has not been bought which as I remember your not able to do? Just a thought.

Thai Health Experts Alleviate Public Concerns About New Covid-19 Variant
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sure. Seems like so far there's been 1 death from this sub-variant of Omicron out of a global population of >8,000,000,000. Probably will be more but for my mind I'm not going to run off and get jabbed again or wear a mask. If you think you should then that's your perogative. -

If you call reality an agenda then that's up to you. It's a variant under monitoring not a variant of concdern. -
Thai Health Experts Alleviate Public Concerns About New Covid-19 Variant
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"He told Thailand’s PBS news station that the man who died was “an elderly foreigner” with underlying health conditions. “His death, therefore, may not directly reflect the severity of this subvariant but rather its impact on other risk factors,” he added." https://uk.news.yahoo.com/first-person-dies-covid-variant-152540692.html I'm guessing you didn't read these rather important factors. It is a known fact that comorbidities can influence the severity of the infection as can age both factors pointed out in the article in relation to this person's death. So I guess a "sensible" person would take this into account. -
..... and as I have pointed out several times the rural person may have no where to spend the bt10k because it's restricted (somehow) to a 4km radius. Unless the local mom and pop shop or small shop has the capacity (how?) to accept the digital wallet it seems to me that the money is useless. As it stands there is nowhere in the small villages that accepts the blue card and many people have to travel more than 4 km to find somewhere that does. Just another thought bubble policy that no real thought has been given to. Very typical of Thailand.

Road to PM: A guide to the upcoming contest for Thailand’s top job
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"After next month’s election, senators will still be able to join the newly elected MPs in a joint parliamentary session to vote on the next prime minister." This is the elephant in the room. The elephant outside of the room if you like is the military. -

So it seems as though it's good for the economy. Societal problems? Not really especially when compared to yaba that's for sure. Narcotic? No. Addictive? No. Should it be avaible for adults to purchase? Yes. Can the jeannie be put back into the bottle. Doubt it the only thing that will happen is it will be criminalized and go back underground. Prohibition does not and has never worked.- 36 replies

Thailand’s General Election: Can the Winner Really Take All?
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Need 50% + 1 otherwise a coalition needs to be formed. The 250 unelected senators also pose a problem for the choice of PM and of course a coupt can never be ruled out.
