Gasping For Air: Thai Passengers React to Engine Mishap
Planes have 3 engines 2 of which can fail and the plane can still fly but yes if both main engines fail your time is more than likely up depending where it happens. They do have pretty good glide time so if a landing is possible so is survival.

DMS Launches New Home Testing Kits for Cervical Cancer
Let's hope the test kits are quality unlike some recent test kits for something else. Cervical cancer was the beginning of the end for my mother. She actually had a keyhole hysterectomy surgery which was quite new at the time resulting a vastly shorter recovery time but sadly it was as I say the beginning of the end. She was in her late 80's at the time and died at the age of 93.

Gasping For Air: Thai Passengers React to Engine Mishap
Mmmm? My posts pointing out that this wasn't mid air and there was no panic and this was likely an APU failure during taxiing keep disappearing. Ah! I see now. The headline has been changed. Nevertheless this is no biggie. APU failures happen. Still the article says during take-off and this I doubt very much. More likely during pushback or taxiing. If during take-off then only two things can happen. Aborted take-off before the PNR or take-off and turn around if the PNR has been passed which doesn't seem to be the case.

Gasping For Air: Thai Passengers React to Engine Mishap
Having an APU malfunction isn't a big mishap especially before take off. Even having an engine fail mid-air is no biggie. Serious yes but not fatal.

Thailand Braces for Severe Summer Storms
Quite right. Usually get some storms in May when so many start to say the wet season has started which as you correctly call as a false start. After this comes the build up to the true start of the wet. Humid and occassional storms until it breaks and the wet season truly arrives. Hoprfully a June/ July start this year.

Thai EV Market Remains Unfazed by European Sales Downturn
China Obsever is not anti China it's anti CCP and why would Chinese imports be any different from the cars in China. Are they made to a different level for the export market? Are you saying the footage in this YT video is fake? Plenty of other articles and videos that show very similar things. As for your very confident statement "I am also on several Thai BYD groups and can confirm there has not been one single BYD explosion or significant fire here." @tomazbodner has shown otherwise. This happened when charging so there was obviously a quality issue. https://www.nationthailand.com/special-edition/ev/40030792 What about this story.... "Bangkok’s governor has ordered an urgent review of all premises in the capital storing EV vehicles and batteries after a serious fire on Wednesday night gutted a building in the Chatuchak area of the city." https://www.thaiexaminer.com/thai-news-foreigners/2023/09/09/ev-vehicle-concerns-after-bangkok-fire-bangkok-governor-chadchart/

Thai EV Market Remains Unfazed by European Sales Downturn
Fairly sure that EV owners on AN represent a tiny proportion of people here on AN. Now factor in all the foreigners that aren't on AN that have EV's. Now factor in the rest of the Thai population that have EV's. Now you can factor in out of all the people in Thailand that have EV's how many charge solely by solar and are off the grid. Add all this together and I reckon you would end up with sweet FA. The obvious next thing to think about would be how much of the total EV ownership in Thailand uses fosil fuel generated electricity to charge their cars. I'm guessing it would be the overwhelming majority.

Thai EV Market Remains Unfazed by European Sales Downturn
Who cares. What's the point. What about the more you do 0 to 100 in 4 seconds the less range you get and charging will be needed sooner with charging for most people with EV's requiring fossil fuels to make the electricity.

Thailand Braces for Severe Summer Storms
Interesting. I'm 40 km from you and current temp where I am is 28 with full cloud. You are more inland than me so that probably accounts for it. It's been a lovely cool day where I am mainly hovering between 26-28. Just SW of BKK.

Thailand's NVI Backs AstraZeneca Amid Controversy
I remember when saying that the vaccines could cause harm was an unsubstantiated conspiracy theory yet here we are on a thread about vaccine safety/harm. Interesting days indeed.

Thailand Braces for Severe Summer Storms
Big cool change today. 26°C at one point. I almost felt cold. Even though Thailand doesn't have a summer the BIG HOT of the hottest April leading into May ever, is finally over. Time for the humid days as we move towards the wet. Let's hope it's a good long one this year.

So what happened about the Thai fisherman who was also illegally fishing or am I missing something here?

Thai EV Market Remains Unfazed by European Sales Downturn
Thailand is a dumping ground for cheap Chinese EV's. Now China wants to start making them here presumably because it's cheaper.

Luxury Mercedes Maybach Involved in 11.2M Baht Accident
No. I looked it up. The 1 mil is an extra for the paint job. The repair to the tail end is Bt11.2 mil. Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class PriceThe Maybach S-Class is priced at ฿17.54 Million. https://www.zigwheels.co.th/en/new-cars/mercedes-benz/maybach-s-class#:~:text=Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class Price, priced at ฿17.54 Million. Edit: No. I'm wrong. S580e goes for around the 10 mil mark so you are correct. My apologies. So yes the article is a total shambles.

Thailand's NVI Backs AstraZeneca Amid Controversy
I have no problem with new variants becoming increasingly contagious. Still not as cotagious as measles though. The takeaway is that it is a non-serious highly contagious virus for the vast majority of people and is very similar to the common cold in the respect of symptoms and transmissability.

Luxury Mercedes Maybach Involved in 11.2M Baht Accident
The car goes for around Bt17-18mil and the repair cost for what looks not particularly serious (indeed seems to have come off much better than the pickup) is 11.2 mil.? Well something smells here. 3/4 of the price of the car in damage would normally result in a write off.

Thailand's NVI Backs AstraZeneca Amid Controversy
Who would have been vaccinated if they were told it could kill you? "The chances of the vaccine causing severe injury, health issues or even death is highly unlikely but still possible." "We do not know what long term effects there might be but overall the vaccines are safe." Instead of these warnings people were forced to be vaccinated. I challenge anyone to say there's not something wrong here.

Luxury Mercedes Maybach Involved in 11.2M Baht Accident
So says ChatGPT. Tailending a Maybach is definitely not recommended but as for unique? Maybe this has never happened before ever in the entire world or maybe this is once again an incorrect use of the term unique. My money's on the latter.

Thailand's NVI Backs AstraZeneca Amid Controversy
Agree. As for your last sentence may I say that less likely to be infected might not actually be the case. It may be that people still get infected being that Omicron is so infectious but they just don't get sick. Might get minimal symptoms or no symptoms at all but the immune system fights it off. An immune system that gets naturally boosted with each infection.
