Bangkok sizzles at 40°C, heatwave scorches Thailand at 43°C
It will be the same next month and will continue. Temps should drop a bit in May but there will be a dramatic increase in humidity as the wet season approaches. When the wet breaks is another thing because last year it was very late, very short and not very wet.

Bangkok sizzles at 40°C, heatwave scorches Thailand at 43°C
Definitely a hot month and overall hotter than the last few years but even then temps ranged in the high 30's and low 40's so it's not that temperatures are unusually high it's more that it's everyday. Is it a heatwave? Not IMO just a hot month as a heat wave as previously explained is an extended period of unusually high day and night temperatures.

Thailand offers visa-free travel to Russian visitors for 3 months
Come in as tourist. Get ed. visa and set up dodgy company. Buy property in companies name. Not to mention crime syndicates moving in. Thailand: We want quality tourists. How about Russian mafia? Thailand: They'll do. They spend money don't they?

Plant-based meat popularity fuels new ventures in Thailand
If it aint from a pig it aint bacon. Simple as that. What this pic shows is a variety of chemically manufactured goods and to call it bacon is as inaccurate and misleading as it gets.

Thai man accuses RTP police chief of scapegoating in rape case
Apart from this case looking to be another useless and corrupt episode by the BIB and the chances of this bloke being innocent being extremely high when he was found guilty this was his senetence. Two years and eight months. Two years and eight months for the rape of a five year old. Say something bad about the king and you can get >15 years. Of course due to the BIB the actual perpetrator is still around somewhere.

Senate candidacy registration deadline set
Cheers. So in no way representative of the people's wishes and fully open to corruption. Not what I'd call a democratic process in electing a senate and those who will sit within. Edit: Having read this well done @candide. Everyone on here should read this. It is an opininion piece but it makes for interesting reading as well as despair. The whole thing is bent. The senate should be elected by the people not this inbred, corrupt, elitist rubbish for the chosen few. The term democracy has no place in this so-called election.

Khao Yai’s Haew Narok Waterfall dries amid Thailand drought
Agree that's it's AI and IMO should be declared as such. As for fake information I don't agree it's just info pumped into AI to do the job they should be doing i.e. writing articles not getting AI to do it for them. I really hope these people don't call themselves journalists.

Khao Yai’s Haew Narok Waterfall dries amid Thailand drought
Ah! The Thaiger at it again. This lot are just pitiful. Apart from being a ChatGPT generated article I thought I would Google images of Haew Narok waterfall. There are many images of this waterfall and this is just one. This is what I found when I Googled "drought landscape with sun in background." Look familiar???????????

Senate candidacy registration deadline set
This time they're being elected. It will be interesting to see what happens but maybe you have a point. As we all well know being elected through the 'democratic' process of an election does not mean you'll be elected. I'm sure there's been a whole lot of dirty tricks conceived to make sure the military/elite keep control of the majority of the senate. Going to be interesting. The military, the elite and PTP do not want what the people of Thailand want. REFORM.

PM cancels planned visit to Mae Sot
Disgusting. No reason given and even if it was it would be BS. He's meant to be the leader of this counrty albeit a puppet of Thaksin and controlled by the army but it is his place to go. Be a leader not some useless mouth peice to gutless to go where there's trouble.

Are you saying that Xi Jinping is't a dictator and China isn't under a dictatorship. If you are I believe I have education on my side. Xi's philoshophy harkens back to the Mao era.

You may believe the narrative that comes out of the CDC but I don't.

Concern Over Spread Of Covid-19, Nearly 10,000 Cases A Day
Not the way it happened in China. People were forced vaccinated and caged up. When the CCP exited their rediculous policy of zero covid and lifted the draconian locklown, Covid spread throughout the country like wildfire. Everyone vaccinated and everyone wearing masks.

Concern Over Spread Of Covid-19, Nearly 10,000 Cases A Day
Humidity isn't high. 56% where I am now. Been pretty steady for weeks. Pops up and down but usually between the 50-60% mark. That's not humid.

Concern Over Spread Of Covid-19, Nearly 10,000 Cases A Day
As I said. It could be incidental. Yes they are confimed positive but that doesn't mean it's what they went to hospitital for hence the word incidental. No where did I say I'm disagreeing with the numbers of confirmed cases. Please don't misrepresent what I posted. This is just common manners.

No but I helped slaughter a sheep. The chops were delicious after it had been hung for a couple of days.

Not China, not the Chinese but the CCP. You know the totalitarian system run by Xi and his CCP.

Thai tourism sector proposes 300-baht tax to counter over-tourism
I thought they were already limiting the amount of people going into spots on the islands. Iimiting the number of snorklers at any one time in a single spot. These are good policies if adhered to. This is just the lastest backdoor way to tax tourists. The extremely well thought out entrance tax was a prime example of this tactic. This is just so translucent it's laughable.

Who cares? If your happy that the Thai govt supports the totalitarian CCP then that's your choice. I for one am not. It's always a very one sided thing when it comes to them.
