Second phase of Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project approved
Great news for the CCP that's for sure. I would like to know the % of Chinese workers brought in to do the work and get paid by the Thai taxpayer to Thai workers.

Thai baht expected to weaken against US dollar
Pity the $Aus isn't where it was 20 years ago. 32/34 or about to baht. It has been strenghtening somewhat against the Baht but still around Bt10 less.

Concern Over Spread Of Covid-19, Nearly 10,000 Cases A Day
Almost everyone now would have some natural immunity although the nature of Omicron variants is to breakthough said immunity. 10,000 infections may well be an underestimate as Omicron can be very mild or even unsymptomatic and hence go unnoticed. Each time you get it your immunity is upgraded and upgraded naturally.

Concern Over Spread Of Covid-19, Nearly 10,000 Cases A Day
Covid vaccines do not stop infection and do not stop the spread.

Concern Over Spread Of Covid-19, Nearly 10,000 Cases A Day
Lucky for you IMHO unless you are very old and/or have severe comorbidities.

Thai conscientious objector risks jail in rare refusal of military service
The face of the future. I think I would be safe in saying this person voted for MFP.

Concern Over Spread Of Covid-19, Nearly 10,000 Cases A Day
Concern Over Spread Of Covid-19, Nearly 10,000 Cases A Day This headline is based on the estimates of one person but it doesn't suprise me. Omicron is highly transmissable but is also non-severe for the vast majority. The interesting bit is the hospitalisation, pneumonia and intubation numbers. I wonder how many of the covid numbers are incidental with the reason that people are presenting to hospital is pollution related. I think it's also reasonable to postulate that those in need of intubation is pneumonia related rather than covid related. The death rate is very, very, very low and I'm guessing they were old with comorbidities.

Thailand sweats under intense heat wave; coral bleaching detected
"It's the hot season for heavens sake." Yes, it is. "Perfectly normal for time of year." April this year is hotter than the last few years and may end up being one of the hottest. "Nothing to do with global warming." Maybe. Could just be a strong El Nino but may also global warming. "Personally I love this hot weather." .....as long as the beer is cold. "The hotter it is the more I like it." Change it to she and I agree. "Bring on 45 degrees and I will get the wife to stake me out on the lawn ." Difficult to get the wife to do anything when it's 45° let alone stake me to the lawn which would be very weird indeed whatever the temperature.

COVID-19 surges during Songkran festival
My comment above was in respose to this comment which got edited by the mods. It originally said that covid was just the flu. Here's the modded quote from @1happykamper

PM Explores Hosting Formula One Race in Bangkok
Making an F1 street circuit in Bangkok would not be an easy task. Not only does a track need to be set out there also needs to be space for the pits and grandstands. Apart from that having a street circuit means massive disruption to traffic in the area for a couple weeks. Maybe out near Savanabhumi Airport. I would be very interested to see a plan of where it would be but something tells me as it is they have no idea. Reality is though that the F1 world circuit is full and to break into it is not easy.

Embattled deputy police chief claims PM has abused authority
I agree to a point but no one is clean at the top of any organisation in Thailand. Take the corrupt out of the government, the army and the police and you wouldn't be left with many people.

Embattled deputy police chief claims PM has abused authority
This joint is like a bunch of squabbling schoolchildren. It's all part of a corrupt system where laws are manipulated and corrupted to benefit one corrupt side opposed to the other.

Thailand Urges Peaceful Resolution Amid Myawaddy Conflict
Thailand Urges Peaceful Resolution Amid Myawaddy Conflict One of the more rediculous headlines often seen on this site. A peaceful resolution to a full blown civil war against a junta. The only resolution will be when the junta collapses which is seeming more and more likely although the junta is still powerful. Thailand, ASEAN and the world have a lot to answer for for turning a blind eye to a military junta that forcibly overthrew a democratically elected government. Not such a suprise from Thailand I guess which is run by the military. The CCP which has withdrawn it's support for the junta and now backs the Tripple Brotherhood Alliance must be rubbing their hands together if the junta falls to possibly move in. Who knows but Myanmar is a basket case.

Sweet sorrow: Thailand’s sugarcane harvest takes a hit
Well it sure hasn't rained much that's for sure. Last year's wet season was very late, not very wet and very short. Thailand has been hot and dry for quite a long period. Wonder how the dam levels are looking.

Might still be visable tonight 5% above horizon in the west after sunset, however, naked eye you'll be lucky to see much.

Plant-based meat popularity fuels new ventures in Thailand
So the poularity of this rubbish is growing? If it is it wouldn't be by much. Vegans are nutters and a miniroriy interest/pressure group. Humans are animals of the omnivore variety. This is a scientific fact. Personally I like meat from an animal not fake meat made by scientists/chemists.

Scorching heat sparks storm warning across 26 Thai provinces
The record where? That's only 42.2°C.

Thai government’s Ofos project to create 20 million jobs from June
20,000,000 x 200,000 = 4,000,000,000,000. Four trillion baht. Something tells me that someone somewhere has made a very large error. If not this is just fanciful.

Mekong River facing dam construction crisis
I sincerely apologise for my error. Wait! Is it an error though? Miltiray, economic, control of recources and people could also be seen as 4 different parts of just one thing. Dominance.

Scorching heat sparks storm warning across 26 Thai provinces
Agree but I think it's fair to say that April this year is a hot one. Hotter than usual looking at historic figures over the last few years.

COVID-19 surges during Songkran festival
They are comparable because they are all endemic. Colds, flu and dengue are seasonal and covid surges might also be seasonal. They are also comparable in that they are all viruses and 3 out of the 4 are infectious. Now tell me they are not comparable.
-
COVID-19 surges during Songkran festival
Seasonal covid. Seasonal colds. Seasonal flu. Seasonal dengue fever. It's called endemic.

COVID-19 surges during Songkran festival
Bet they don't cover excess deaths and vaccine injury though.
