  1. Hottest day on record in Switzerland was 41.5°C in 2006. As for a little warm high 30°C and up is HOT Very Hot and should be acknowledged and respected as such. Hydration is essential.
  2. For once The Thaiger has refrained from saying heatwave in the headline. Good. This month has been and still is a scorcher though. As for the forecast of storms we'll have to wait and see but I'd say every person in Thailand is hoping for a good summer storm and a lasting cool change.
  3. Always good to have an expert on polling on the thread. If you think this is "meaningless and misleading" why don't you look back to the actual results of the last election. This poll suggests that MFP is increasing their lead after what was already a landslide victory in they were undemocratically denied their right to form government. Why would this be "meaningless and misleading"?
  4. I've said this many times for many years. The CCP is THE most dangerous bunch of a..holes on the planet. Xi Jinping wants only one thing. Complete dominance over his own people which he basically already has and economic and military dominance in the Asia Pacific Region.
  5. Covid 19, flu and the common cold are three distinctly different viruses. It's now 2024 and you still do not know this?
  6. Legislation v Tanks. Which one will win? Apart from that "suspected of hatching coups" is just nonsence. The PM has no control over the army.
  7. What a silly comment. Like the flu and the common cold covid is here to stay.
  8. I think herbs for hard power would be a better seller.
  9. Wasting taxpayers money on overseas jaunts at the end of their non-elected tenure isn't the discussion at hand? What is then?
  10. Interestingly the full article does not mention corruption which may well have played a part. Environmental laws are a joke here with officials being paid off to turn a blind eye. 30 years ago one could safely swim in the khlongs in and around Bangkok. They are all poisoned now with industrial waste not to mention all the garbage. It is illegal to discharch industrial waste into the khlongs yet it is a widespread practice.
  11. I would think saved some of the money saved with a big chunk of it finding it's way into pockets, however, the whole idea of saving the budget money aka taxpayer's money, is extremely distasteful at best.
  12. I'm not a Brit but with expats I think they missed an important point which links the increase in living costs and the fixed pension. Other than this it's a pretty good article albeit most likely ChatGPT and applies IMO across the board.
  13. Does this mean articles actually written by humans with no disconnect between headlines, images and articles or just more AI articles with inaccurate headlines and images? Can't wait to see. My guess is more of the same including more very annoying pop ups which Bitdefender has to keep blocking. I had an interesting result when I checked if this article is ChatGPT generated.
  14. You say AI doesn't interest you and fair enough but be aware that most Thaiger articles are AI generated. Many times on this site you are reading news articles that are AI generated not what has person has written. Very sad state of affairs IMHO. All AI generated articles should be declared as such.
  15. The news maybe real but a lot of the articles are ChatGPT. Real people writing real articles not real people getting AI to create articles or people declaring the article is AI. IMHO this is the way it should be. If it's possible to plagiarise AI then this is what is happening. Must be a pretty easy job at some of these online news sites. Type in a few key words and get AI to create the article. Wonder how much they get paid?
  16. GPTZero. A The Thaiger article. Open source no download needed.
  17. The Thaiger uses ChatGPT all the time. Not what I would call journalism. Type in some key words into ChatGPT, let AI generate the story, then claim you wrote it. This needs to stop. If ChatGPT is generating the articles then is should be shown as such. Run any The Thaiger article through GPTZero and see the results for yourself.
  18. 287 over the 7 days is an average of 41. Average daily death toll is around the 60 mark. This is a bit dated but https://cdn.who.int/media/docs/default-source/thailand/roadsafety/overview-en-final-25-7-19.pdf?sfvrsn=f9d7a862_2
  19. Another nonsense article from The Thaiger. If numbers are down there is no possible way they can surge. Average daily death toll/accidents causing injury over the "seven deadly days" of Songkran was less than the overall daily average over a year. So in actual fact the numbers reduced. Not surged.
  20. New York officially recognises Songkran as an important cultural event The legislative assembly of New York State In the resolution, it is mentioned that Songkran is not only celebrated in Thailand, but also in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, as well as among minorities in Vietnam, China’s Yunnan province and in Sri Lanka. Wow! I'm sure this made the front page of The New York Post.
  21. Type USA press release/aid/investment into ChatGPT and you may well get a similar reading article.
  22. Democracy? Nup. Last election is 100% proof of a lack of democracy. Rule of law? This is so far from reality to be laughable. Too many are above the law and/or untouchable. Human rights? Section 112 being weaponised clearly demonstrates that human rights are being violated. Not much of an alignment IMO.
  23. Favourable to the status quo and the power of the military/elite is more likely than any move toward true democracy.
  24. I agree. What this country needs is more corruption and extrajudicial murders.
