Russia Rejects Trump's Temporary Ukraine Ceasefire Offer
dinsdale replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Stupid comment. As I pointed out on another thread the devastating consequences are economic in nature not military. Above I said let's see what Trump has up his sleeve which is what all sane people are now waiting on. Those with the frothing at the mouth Trump hatred will continue to post nonsense I'm sure. Let's see what happens. This is a very, very complex situation at the highest levels of global politics.- 451 replies

Russia Rejects Trump's Temporary Ukraine Ceasefire Offer
dinsdale replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Yes. Ukraine must admit defeat to some extent and hand over most of what's been taken. What's the alternative? Ukraine cannot win without massive amounts of military assistance that simply won't be coming it's way. Putin doesn't want all of Ukraine. This would be impossible and be Russia's next Afghanistan.- 451 replies

Russia Rejects Trump's Temporary Ukraine Ceasefire Offer
dinsdale replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I was wrong earlier on saying it would happen and happen quickly. Putin wants and end to the war but with the Kursk salient collapsing I wouldn't be surprised that once Ukraine has lost this completely, which is coming soon, that Putin moves into the Sumy Oblast in retaliation. Apart from this it will be interesting to see what Trump has up his sleeve.- 451 replies

Ukraine Backs U.S. Ceasefire Proposal, Awaiting Russian Response
dinsdale replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I'm not sure about the ceasefire now. It could go either way. The Kursk salient has collapsed and Putin's forces are moving west faster than ever albeit still slowly. It will be interesting to see what stick Trump can use on Putin. Putin basically has all the cards but Trump is the dealer. Zelensky is basically out of the game. -
That's the theory. The practice is, however, different. The topic of this thread is about DEI appointments being more equal than others via their remuneration. It would seem the "reverse bias" is now in "overdrive". I have no problem with centering the pendulum but what we have now is a pendulum that has gone way over to the other side. The US example is of course very topical as the people have recognised this pendulum swing and rejected it. If the Democrats can not move the pendulum back toward the centre they are finished.

Mate if you want to talk about being a pedantic pr!ck! it was you who said it's not tax payer funded and that it's funded by license fees. I'm sorry that the logic of my argument was too much for you and to get you triggered into an ad hominem attack. Settle down and think before you post. All I said is the BBC is tax payer funded. It is tax payer funded. Nowhere in my OP did I say it was funded through taxation.

Thai MP Allegedly Caught Vaping in Parliament Sparks Outrage
dinsdale replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Crackdown continues. Not good but definitely good for the Tobacco Authority of Thailand monopoly. Absolutely no coincidence here. As I said before this crackdown on or possibly eradication of the vaping sector comes from way up the top to protect the monopoly that sells a far more dangerous product.. -
Impossible. God exists and Earth is the only place in the entire universe where God put man and that's that. Evidence of this is not needed. No possible way could there be life in the estimated 100 to 200 billion galaxies (so far observed) in the observable universe. As for have there been any visitations well I'm not convinced. Oddly enough I'm currently re-watching The X-Files series.

Headline: Trump Warns Putin of ‘Devastating’ Consequences If Ukraine Ceasefire Is Rejected Reference from article: “In a financial sense, yes, we could do things that would be very bad for Russia, that would be devastating for Russia. But I don’t want to do that.” Headline IMHO is just a little alarmist. This is Trump waving the economic not military stick at Putin but I'm sure it will trigger the loons on the left frothing at the mouth and crying their deluded tears of hate. Fact is all parties want this to end and Trump is trying to get it done.

Yep. Not smoking is best but vaping is better than smoking cigs. Someone on here refuses to acknowledge this. -

Neither smoking nor vaping is beneficial to human health. Based on the available evidence, smoking appears more harmful than vaping, but this does not mean that vaping is safe. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/vaping-vs-smoking#which-is-safer What are the benefits of switching from smoking to vaping? Smoking causes at least 16 different types of cancer so stopping smoking completely is the best thing you can do for your health. E-cigarettes can help people stop smoking and are an effective stop smoking tool. There’s no safe level of smoking, so it is important to stop tobacco-use completely. Find out more about the tools and support available to help you stop smoking. Because vaping is far less harmful than smoking, your health could benefit from switching from smoking to vaping. And you will reduce your risk of getting cancer. Switching from cigarettes to e-cigarettes could also save you a lot of money. Some people spend more than others but in general smoking costs more than vaping. https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/causes-of-cancer/smoking-and-cancer/is-vaping-harmful Go away. -

Don't need to. After decades of smoking cigs I stopped and after a several weeks started vaping. I was suffering badly with intermittent claudication due to PAD. I could only walk about 50 metres before the pain started. After 150 m it was really bad and 500m excruciating (think of walking with a severely torn calf muscle). That's no longer the case. Although the intermittent claudication is still there (due to nicotine in the vape juice) it's >90% improved. Admittedly some dietary changes have also helped. My lungs are also much better than they were and if it wasn't for pollution probably better still. As for giving a link I don't need to. If you want to educate yourself on this matter go right ahead. -
On 3/11/2025 at 7:54 AM, dinsdale said: people still riding without helmets. This stinks of Thaksin. You have cherry picked a part of my post not directly related to the topic to fit your own narrative and hence have completely misrepresented my OP. My point was the crackdown stinks of Thaksin. Here is my OP. "Big police crackdown nationally to "maintain order". Smoking cigs, smoking dope and all vaping shops temporarily closed yet the high daily death rate on the roads remains and people still riding without helmets. This stinks of Thaksin." This is reportable. Please do not do it again.
