Myanmar Daughter - School in Pattaya
Tod Daniels replied to Praxis13's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Did they enter on a 14 day entry stamp (the free stamp burmese get)? If so you aren't gonna get any in country visa issued from that stamp as you need a minimum of 15 days left on the stamp to even apply for the in country Non-ED visa You can get a hold of the burma embassy in bangkok, get a letter from them saying they can't go back and with that they can get a 30 day extension based on "embassy request" <- THAT stamp could be converted in country to a 90 day Non-ED visa. -
Stay in hotel/condo, what with TM30?
Tod Daniels replied to Confuscious's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
why would you need to? Just pick which place you're going to use for your extensions/90 day reports etc and have a TM30 filed at that place. If you own your own place don't even bother telling them you're moving between them. Just make sure you use the address for stuff where you have the TM30 filed and use the office in that area for what ever you're doing -
HCMC used to be the only one in the area that still issued year-long, multi-entry Non-O (with proof of funds) but no reports of anyone getting the year/multi there that I could find. Penang might do it (again with proof of funds) but no reports from there either. I think if that is the visa you want you're gonna hafta just suck it up, set your alarm for 12am and check the system then. I've checked every day this week and you can get a booking for about 5 minutes (on the popular days) until they're booked out but this morning even at 7am there were still bookings for Thurz the 18th (that's because with the holiday Monday you wouldn't get your passport back until Tuesday the 23rd)

Is my old ed visa cancelled?
Tod Daniels replied to TellTale's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It IS gonna interfere with you getting a Non-B visa and/or an extension inside the country 😕 or at least I'm about 99.99% sure it will 😉 Just leaving without a re-entry permit on an "Extension of Stay" (which I would bet is what you had) based on education doesn't "cancel" it by stamping out. While it stamps YOU out of the country it still isn't officially cancelled IN the system and even though the ED visa might have expired while you were out of the country it still isn't 'cancelled' You won't have any issue getting a Non-B outside the country at a thai consulate OR entering the country with an uncancelled ED extension BUT when you go to get the Non-B inside the country or the extension of stay based on employment they'll see that you have an "open" extension and fine you. The fine caps out at 20K baht (just like the overstay fine) and is 500 baht a day for every day. Many people get that fine because they don't understand that ED and employment extensions need to be CANCELLED before you leave the country to "close them out" -
"90 Days Online" is working for me again
Tod Daniels replied to zenobit's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you were rejected one time and went to file in person you WOULDN'T get an email reminder. You only get that for the next report once you do a successful 90 day report SO seeing as you were approved online this time, in 89 days you should get the email Congrats -
TM30 v Yellow House Book
Tod Daniels replied to jaiyenyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just telling people how it is at Chaengwattana NOW to do 90 day reporting online since they updated the system. You have to have a current TM30 and you have to have filed a NEW one since you came back IN to the country in order for the system to match AND You also have to file the first 90 day report when you return from abroad IN PERSON (or use a service to do it) as the online system will reject it with the "file the first report in person" reason The TM30 counter was JAMMED with people the other day who got called on the carpet not having one when they were applying for their extension or 90 day report and were trying to get it sorted To be completely honest I don't care if you people do or don't file TM30's or not, as I'm not wanting to get into an "I've been here 65 years and never done a TM30" pissing match 😛 but I would bet dollars to durian you're going to find it gets harder and harder to get online 90 days approved without it. 😕 -
TM30 v Yellow House Book
Tod Daniels replied to jaiyenyen's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yep you need a TM30 filed using the online system (or go and do it in person) The fact you have a yellow house book or even the snazzy pink i/d card for foreigners doesn't mean you don't need a TM30 Here's the online link to the system TM30 ONLINE And here's the PDF you get after you enter the data, save it, go back and search for it, then export it -

If I recall, the entire English speaking news media for Thailand "had it on good authority" that the program would start June 1st. We saw how well that worked out- 13 replies

E-visa for Nonimmigrant B
Tod Daniels replied to TellTale's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
a power bill, rent bill etc will work Remember at most thai consulates who are on the eVisa system you have to be IN your home country to use it and you have to show a flight to thailand from your country Make a log in so you can sign IN to the system and don't forget to go to the thai consulate website that you're using and READ the real requirements for the Non-B from that consulate. You're just looking at an abbreviated list of requirements for that Non-B right now not being logged in OR having looked at the consulate's website where you're applying -
You can indeed, You need to GO out to Chaengwattana to Section C-1 and get the hand out listing the requirements for the 90 day Non-O visa for the reason you want to get it (retirement/marriage to a thai) You also need a minimum of 15 days left on your current stamp (30 day visa exempt or 30 day extension on that) to apply because of the "under review" period You get the documentation together, you go apply, pay the 2000baht, get a receipt that has a date stamped 2 weeks out. On that date you go back and get the Non-O visa and new 90 day stamp inked into your passport
-
@josephbloggs Its fine if just you show up on that date your wife/children don't need to go at all. Show the people at the queue counter your blue/green receipt and have the passport open to the under consideration stamp page They will give you a queue for section L-2 It's at the END of section L-1, so walk to the end of the L-1 section and turn right, L-2 is just a small section that only deals with under consideration stamps for marriage/raising children etc extensions. They seem to crank thru queues pretty fast. After that if you want to you can get a re-entry permit (so you can exit/re-enter thailand and not lose your stamp)

Whether you can get one 60 day extension based on visiting Thai family per entry, on a multi-entry Visa or per Visa bracket (meaning you can do it once on any entry of that Visa) is an immigration office specific thing. There are indeed offices that will only let you get that 60-day visit family extension one time per Visa. Just as there are offices that will not add the 60 days to the current 90-day stamp and they make you go close to the date that stamp is expiring to get the 60 days and you lose the extra days left on your stamp. That is because you have the non-ovisa based on marriage and you are getting the extension for a different reason based on visiting Thai family. @KruAlastair you clearly have a concept of how the year-long multi-entry non-immigrant type O Visa works, my advice to you would be to take your Thai wife with you and go to the immigration office asking them if you can get the 60-day extension on this entry and then on the final 90 day entry you will get when you bounce out and back close to when your Visa itself expires. Their answer will control whether you take the extension now or not.

How to get 1 year Thai visa?
Tod Daniels replied to droopy swingers's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
How about we start with some easy stuff first? That way people can give you sensible advice.. What is your nationality? What is your age? Where are you now? (In thailand or in your home country) If you're in thailand now Where in thailand are you? What stamp are you here on? When does that stamp expire? -

How to get 1 year Thai visa?
Tod Daniels replied to droopy swingers's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Thai Embassy in Hanoi
Tod Daniels replied to Jaythekol's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just curious did you make a copy of that page in your work permit booklet that showed the other company was listed in it? Since the countries re-opened after covid the thai consulates in Vietnam (Hanoi and HCMC) went way WAY down as far as their turn around speed to get passports/visas back. Sadly yes, that is something I have heard all too often from people using that consulate. Unfortunately you have NO leverage at all with them. I had someone say it took TEN business days for their approval on a Non-B All you can do is show up tomorrow and check on it. -
@Tercera_Edad umm, if you got a new year extension you DON'T have an LTR (Long Term Resident) visa so none of that info on the LTR/BOI Website has any relevance to you and your current situation Just so you know, you can't get a yearly extension at the One Stop Service Center based on retirement and that means you can't move the stamps there either. As Dr Jack clearly stated you renew your passport BEFORE you get next years extension OR you're only going to get one for the duration of the passport (meaning you lose those months) 🙂 When you get the new passport you go to the office that issued the extension and get the stamps moved Now what you could do is time the passport renewal so that once you get the new passport it's also time to go apply for the new yearly extension. They'd move the stamps to the new passport and give you another year extension all at the same time.

Parental visa financial requirements 400k
Tod Daniels replied to Kenny202's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Sadly for you @kingkenny both of those times you were being led by the nose by the immigration office 😕. There is no 3 months seasoning for marriage, raising thai children or retirement extensions and for marriage to a thai or raising thai children there never was 😮 IF you're getting an extension based on supporting a thai child there is no written rule that says the funds need to be in the account ANY specified period other than "on the date you apply" <- which means there is no seasoning for the 400K baht for that reason. @Kenny202 there is no requirement to show the bank balance when you go back to get the under consideration stamp closed out and get the year extension inked in. The clause for extensions based on supporting thai child do not list ANY seasoning at all. You can check with your office well before you apply but be prepared to stand your ground if they say there is seasoning or it has to stay in the account. -
METV, 2 inbound and outbound tickets
Tod Daniels replied to Jack1988's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Okay despite people saying it is NOT required, more than a few people have been denied METV's and sold single entry because they failed to show WHY they needed an METV. When you click multiple entry you see the notice under it. Like I posted As a rule people wanting an METV need to show flight TO thailand from their country, then about 60 days later a flight out of thailand (to a s/e asian country is fine) then back a few days later. You're under NO obligation to use those flights and you can exit/re-enter by land all you want BUT you use those to show why you NEED an METV. Now maybe when they did the "streamlining" of the tourist visa process, they eased up the proof you need an METV requirements too but it still says it under the number of entries choice That'd be great if it wasn't required anymore. I'm curious if anyone has gotten an METV the last couple of months online thru the eVisa system without showing onward travel in 60 days?
