  1. Listen people, this was ONLY to show that the old rule (implemented back in Jan 1, 2017) when the border bounces went from unlimited 15 days by land to 30 days by land with a limit of two per calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31) is no longer in effect. I don't care how long you've been here, I've found time IN country rarely equates to knowing sh*t from Shinola about things. I have a limited skill-set here in the glorious "Land 'O Thaiz" and that is I know entry/visa/extension stuff about this place inside, outside, upside down, in a box with a fox. 😛 Believe what I'm saying or don't 😮 I didn't post this to get into a 'who can piss further in the sandbox' game with every Tom, Dick and Somchai foreigner here .
  2. another company that bounces people posted on their site unlimited entry by land now
  3. Okay people listen up. This isn't about flying in, and you can/will get grilled if you're milking free stamp to live here. This is about the fact that the prettiest rule, exacted Jan 1, 2017 that limited visa exempt entries by land to 2 in a calendar year does not apply to this new 60 day Visa exempt entry program. There is no longer a limit of 2 visa exempt entries by land
  4. Okay people there is some confusion about the extension, I am out at the main immigration office in Bangkok as we speak and have just spoken to the officers about the DTV Visa. They said you get the visa at a Thai consulate/embassy outside the country, you enter the country and get 180 days, then you can come to the immigration office and get one 180 day extension. In Bangkok you do that at the main immigration office at Chaengwattana. The officer told me you do it in section j which is the section for tourist visa extensions and the extension cost 1,900 baht. There are some documents floating around that show that the extension is 10,000 baht, but the two girls I spoke to, one at the main counter and one in section J said that is not correct the extensions are 1900.
  5. ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS: (I edited this to better show the entry / stay (overstay) history 😛 ) We interrupt this broadcast to bring you a breaking News bulletin.. The new 60 day entry stamp program that started 3 days ago is not limited to two entries by land in a calendar year, it is unlimited entry by land. Just had somebody that did two free stamp land entries this year bounce out and back and get a new 60-day entry with no questions at al. The officer said unlimited. Here are the two 30 day land entry stamps and the new 60 day stamp they just got this morning.. as you can see they even had a 3-day overstay this morning when they left. Remember you heard it first from Tod Daniels. EDIT: Okay here's the stamp "trail" and it's a screwy one with an overstay at every step of the process The person entered their FIRST ENTRY BY LAND on March 16th was stamped in 30 days until April 14th. They went to the immigration office on the 17th of April paid a 3 day overstay (no stamp image) and got a 30 day extension good until 14 of May They went to the border on May 17th paid a 3 day overstay (no stamp image) and got a 30 day stamp until Jun 15th (note the stamp has 2/67 meaning second land entry this year) They went to the immigration office on the 18th of June paid a 3 day overstay AND got a 30 day extension good until 15th of July They went to the border July 18 paid a 3 day overstay AND got a NEW THIRD LAND ENTRY STAMP for 60 days
  6. They started letting people walk through the drive-thru a good while back at the main immigration office by the airport for 90 day reporting

  8. Yep it's just you, I think you failed to realize that all the border run companies that go to Cambodia have it pre-negotiated with the Thai side of whatever border they go to do they can get people out and back the same day without having you stay overnight in Cambodia. And whether you know it or not the fee is different depending on how long people get stamped in for and what their nationality is. So when they opened up the borders to 90 plus countries coming in on free 60 day stamps, rather than 55 countries that can come in on 30 day free entry the Thai powers that be at the border decided to increase the cost to let people out and back the same day. You are always free to do one of those "I'm going to save money and bounce myself" train wreck of a border bounce. Many, MANY people have found out it's not near as easy as it seems especially when you get denied entry trying to come back into Thailand.
  9. Yep, with an e Visa all you get is the entry exit stamp you don't burn a whole passport page with that Cambodia Visa sticker. But as people were pointing out the e visa to Cambodia can only be used at certain land border crossings
  10. Sadly, I can confirm that people are only getting 30 days entering by land or by air and that the 60-day Visa exempt entry program has not started. Here's one from Don Mueang Airportand three land border entry stamps from the Cambodian border
  11. It's also on the Thai consulate website in Kota Bharu Malaysia https://kotabharu.thaiembassy.org/th/page/destination-thailand-visa-dtv
  12. It's on the Washington DC website now https://washingtondc.thaiembassy.org/en/page/dtv-visa
  13. Just had someone there last week (who had an appt to actually get in the gate 😛 ) and he was only sold a single entry Non-O based on marriage even though he had 400k baht in the account because it wasn't in for 2 months 😕 was told to leave the money in there and come back and apply for the year after it was in for 2 months if he wanted to
  14. 60 days posted on the Thai embassy Washington DC website now https://washingtondc.thaiembassy.org/en/page/visaexempt-voajul2024
  15. @Liquorice how about we just agree to disagree and you can keep parroting that the b/s form you got from that office in Nakhon Nowhere aka Roi Et is going to be in EVERY immigration office in the country soon ? Will that work? 😉 What if I say you win? 😮 Will that make you feel better? 😛 Sincerely good luck with your visa/extensions 👍
  16. actually as I pointed out the clause "or at the discretion of the issuing officer" gives them wide latitude to issue extensions whether you meet the requirements or not You can call it what you want, I'll leave that for other illusionary posers to comment on 😮 I meant illustrious posters 😛
  17. so does this agent get your retirement extensions for you? I'd say GO talk to the immigration office with your thai wife in tow and see what they say about doing a reason change. They may not want to do it, but there is nothing stopping you from making them do it Also if you go out of the country to get come back free entry stamp then apply for an in country Non-O visa based on marriage you aren't gonna do that with monthly income method (unless you come from a country whose embassy here still issues the income affidavit), You'd have to bank the 400K baht. Even if you got the Non-O outside the country came back in and went to apply for the year extension you still couldn't do it based on monthly income by transfer. It'd have to be banked money your best bet to use monthly income method is to change the reason for your current extension from retirement to marriage at the immigration office where you get your yearly extensions.
  18. doubt you're actually on ANY visa at all and instead if you looked at your stamp you'd see it's a year extension of stay stamp that it says "EXTENSION OF STAY PERMITTED UNTIL" and has a date inked on it That means you wouldn't change from ANY visa to any other visa. All you'd do is change the reason for your extension from retirement to marriage when you go apply for your next yearly extension. Remember thought, if you used banked money method last year you need to keep meeting the seasoning requirements for the year extension you're on now (have kept the 800K baht in the bank account for 3 months after the extension was issued and then never let the balance go below 400K the rest of the year) I'd go to your office (with your thai wife in tow) and get the documentation requirements for a year extension based on marriage (DO NOT say you want a marriage "visa" because you don't, you want to just change the reason for your extension from retirement to marriage) Then get the documents together and go apply for the new yearly extension based on marriage when you have 30 days or less left on this current stamp you're on now people "change the reason for extensions" all the time and there is nothing that stops you from doing it at all.
  19. ALL offices that issue visas for people when agents "grease the wheel" and bank the money for you for a hour, WAIVE the seasoning requirements That's because at the end of the police order on extensions it says "OR as deemed appropriate by the issuing officer" <- meaning even if you don't meet the requirements IF the issuing officer deems it appropriate you can get the visa/extension
  20. nope you'll get stamped in for how ever many days you have left on your current stamp (the one tied to the re-entry) Nope they don't do that, if you have a valid re-entry you can come back in on it and get as many days as is left on your stamp
  21. yep you need to go update the bank book the day you apply for the Non-O visa in Section C-1 at Chaengwattana, AND if you're getting the Non-O visa based on retirement the code ON the transfer of the funds in the bank book has to indicate that it was an international transfer. As DrJack54 said for Non-O based on marriage no proof of funds origin), also you need to get the bank letter as well, (stating your account number, the date, your name and the balance on the date they issued the letter <-9that letter can be up to 7 days old) looks like this (this is a poster at Bangkok Bank but the bank letters all pretty much look the same) Dunno how you'd show the requirements of an updated bank book if you have a eSavings Account 😕 Maybe have the bank PRINT out a transaction history for you
  22. Can't help you with the requirements at HCMC for 90 Day non-o based on support of a Thai child, is there are no confirmed reports of people using either consulate in Vietnam for non-o based on Thai child BUT It certainly not impossible to get an appointment at Savannakhet. You just have to get your act together, wake up at midnight when the next day (2 weeks out) becomes available and make a booking. I logged in just now and there are plenty of appointments available for Friday the 26th. Keep in mind they recently went to three working day processing counting the day you apply. So if for example you had an appointment on Thursday you wouldn't get your passport back till the following Monday and if you had an appointment on Friday you wouldn't get your passport back until the following Tuesday
  23. Same paperwork copies as for the year extension, except no Bank letter, no updated Bank book, no photos, and yes your wife has to go because she's the reason you're getting the extension
  24. Hmm, I'd say she or you is counting wrong it should actually be 29 days because the day you stamp in counts as day one no matter what time you stamp in if she stamped in July 10th I'd say she should be stamped in until Aug 8th Can you post an image of the stamp. AND that 60 day free entry for 90+ countries didn't start, "some nationalities" are routinely questioned about, proof of funds, proof of onward travel, proof of lodging, etc, strange to be questioned for 2 hours though if she doesn't have an extensive entry/stay history to thailand
