  1. Thai people refuse to euthanize at all costs. My Thai wife let out her old dog die a slow painful death from kidney disease instead of putting it down. Absolutely refused. They'd rather see dogs suffer great misery and people be attacked and killed then put a dog down. It's a sickness really.
  2. when the wrong race gets the wrong breed all hell breaks loose.
  3. I had the Ethiopian slop tray once where you eat the little blobs of curries with the fluffy bread which is makes up the tray itself. I guess it's good enough but it was the definition of 3rd world slop cuisine and you ate it with your hands. Maybe fun once or twice but I don't think it would last long without actual Ethiopian customers. 🤷
  4. Classic pit bull behavior. People just can't seem to get their stupid heads around the fact you can breed dogs to have innate behavior (like herding sheep) and this one was breed to kill.
  5. I'm sure it was well deserved and shouldn't he be out fighting in the desert instead of annoying people in Thailand?
  6. yup that's them.
  7. of course they do because they aren't bald or wear wigs like black women do.
  8. Just go to Vietnam instead. March in Thailand sucks anyways unless maybe in the deep south.
  9. blowback from the war and who blames them?
  10. That's true. This guy wasn't causing any real problems just being offensive in his appearance. I have some old T-shirts which are getting holes in the shoulders or even have tiny holes from pipe cinders and it my wife wants to pitch them. Looking like a bum is not well received in Thailand. I've seen people get turned away at immigration for wearing sleeveless shirts even. They take this stuff seriously over here.
  11. I get that but they properly roasted that guy in Pai. Basically what I've been saying here. It's very likely the guy I saw came from Pai for the festival.
  12. I know. Listened to some speeches from him. Remember it was only a tiny minority of wealthy people who could afford slaves and once that ended they were being released upon the general population. They didn't bring the slaves and didn't want to associate with them once it ended. He was appealing to freedom of associate which is just and valid in my opinion.
  13. My mom, step father and one cousin have red hair. One of the most sickening pieces of propaganda for me are the advertisements which include red haired women with Africans. Only 1% of the world has red hair and fair skin and they're being shown alongside the endless hordes of black haired dark skinned Africans.
  14. No it isn't. Racism means you're being rejected for whatever reason they see fit. Maybe fear but maybe they had bad experiences or just don't want the hassle of dealing with outsiders. It's up to them remember. If you enter into another peoples space and get rejected then that's on you. Deal with it or go away.
  15. yes you're right he was a governor. I don't see any problem though and I don't see why he apologized unless he got pressured to do so. Imagine the Thai government gave citizenship to millions of farangs and then the Thais decided they were going to segregate the farangs so they don't have to mix together. Would that be wrong? I say no because the Thais were put upon by their government and they have the right to decide their own internal borders.
  16. What he means is that the EU let Muslims into Europe who then came move around within Europe legally. You have no control or influence or those people. Once you let them in it's game over and you deal wit the sectarian conflicts they bring with them.
  17. No it's not, we're in Thailand now. It was the same in our countries since forever up until a few decades ago.
  18. Yeah that sums it up but imagine that guy when he's in his 50 or 60s. This stuff makes Thai people very uncomfortable. You may be used to it but it's deranged when you step outside the bubble.
  19. I'm very comfortable on the motorbike. Lots of open space and easy roads to manage. I wouldn't compare it much to Mae Rim and I lived in that area for years. Maybe some small slivers here and there but in totality it's a different region.
  20. There were many normal hippies there, Thai, Japanese and Chinese too in the mix. It's all in good fun when you're in 20s. Happy to see them enjoying themselves.
  21. Jews in America vote something like 70% left liberal, sure it's the same in Europe. I think they feel safer being a multicultural society where there's no monolithic ethnic group which can expel them (again). Doesn't make sense to me either but Jews are totally implicated and often push it themselves (on whites). They're only a tiny minority too. The Europeans are paying a far greater price and if the US is trying to do anything it's crush the European nation states by making them minorities in their own country.
  22. I know, I understand, I really do. This is not that, I promise you. I've seen this enough times to know all about these people.
  23. The EU is anti-semitic??? I feel like this people are lecturing us about jews and how to not be a nazi.
  24. This was which year? I think the Chinese people are down from before but I did see a sprinkling of them. Again that week is not comparable to any other week because of the Shambala festival which no doubt drew a bunch of people out of Pai just for that week. Pai for old people? Sounds like something a tourist would say that has no other points of reference. Chiang Dao has a surprising amount of resorts and restaurants for tourists but it's not a decidedly tourist ghetto like Pai or Phuket where tourists out number the locals 100+ to 1. It's basically just rural northern Thailand but due to the proximity to the city and an international airport you get tourists. It's actually way easier to live in Chiang Dao than most places in northern Thailand because the wide variety of restaurants. Stuff to do? I always visit the pool in front of the cave and then just do motorbike rides around the valley and up to a couple mountain locations depending on the mood (the first picture included Mueang Khong which is up Doi luang, 2+ hours round trip).
  25. Oh I'm sure he has plenty of money. I don't think you're really understanding who these people are. It's cosplay and attention seeking behavior for adults. They want to present to you something they're not and make you and everyone else feel uncomfortable in the process or at the very least steal your attention.
