  1. Exactly. Thai's tend to just go straight and and keep their pace then try to avoid obstacles as they present themselves. This guy probably tried that and didn't make it. you see this stuff every day so I'm not surprised in the slightest.
  2. So they just want the piece of paper and to learn nothing?
  3. I'm in the US now and before I left I spoke with two Thai people about leaving and said I would be gone 6 weeks. Both of them paused to think for a moment then responded by how many months I was going to be gone and they were totally wrong. That's just two people but they were both in their 50s and didn't know how many months 6 weeks are. Another one is a woman from a tiny village so I don't blame her but she asked if it was going to be cold now in America. Maybe she was thinking all "farang countries" are Australia and winter and summer months are inverted. Many more stories over the years I've forgotten but education is clearly lacking in my experience.
  4. but why? You can't get guns in Russia? If this was the US I wouldn't be surprised but Thailand? I thought guns were hard to come by.
  5. That reminded me I just saw this video on YT a few days ago. He did what both of fathers should have done. Was worried about the heart and got an MRI in Vietnam at an affordable price. The tests came back clean and he was relieved to indeed be healthy. So many men are hesitant to go to hospitals do routine checks (I know I am, I am perfectly healthy right so why waste the money?) so it was nice to see the relief and peace of mind it gave him.
  6. My own father died at 67 a few years ago from heart disease, same story good shape and very careful with his health his whole life. The one thing he didn't do though was get his heart checked and if he did he could have been saved by a routine surgery many people get in their 60s. Apparently you can be in good health and still be predisposed to genetic heart conditions and yes indeed his own father died of sudden cardiac arrest in his 50s.
  7. Hulk Hogan is a legend and American icon to be sure but have you met the Grand Master of Meth?
  8. Have ever lived anywhere in Thailand? If not going in to that region could be extremely challenging for all sorts of reason we could go in to. Unless you get land right up next to the mountain it's going to pretty ugly too if you ask me. Don't build anything before you've lived there a couple years and survey the rest of the country because it's almost guaranteed you will like other places much better. Your wife may not be ok with that though but at least you'll know where to escape too should you need.
  9. yeah that's right. Homes in housing project in Chiang Mai are often in the 3-4m baht range. It's a rip off for me personally because the houses are in those contested projects and have no privacy. A 3-4mb self build on a nice piece of land would be pretty nice though.
  10. Somchai and Dang looking pumped for their first day with the IDF.
  11. Well then do what Thailand does. They tell you, you can get on the first plane back home or go to court, however if you do that and you lose the case you spend time in jail. Pretty sure you're kept in jail (or. concentration camps as you call them) until your court date. What the US does is the stupidest possible thing, which is give every single person a court date and let them free and let them appear on their own terms. If they refuse to appear then they're still illegal and they've lost nothing and the US has wasted time and resources. see how stupid that is? this needs to be ended already.
  12. I'm guessing they detained illegal aliens? You know who else detains illegal aliens and puts them into crowded cages? that's right, Thailand and why shouldn't they? We're all expected to follow the laws and it's not asking too much.
  13. I'm in Colorado now until the end of August. Once you get a few miles east of the mountains it's flat, dry, desolate plains for hundreds of miles and all the way into Kansas and beyond. This is extremely undesirable land if you ask me but people still keep build in Colorado since there's work to be had. To be fair though most of Thailand is boring, flat desolate rice fields so maybe Kansas isn't that bad. You'd be really isolated though and reliant on cooking food bought on your weekly trip to the nearest city. Freezing cold in the winters too and strong winds that can blow you over on foot.
  14. This is some real sick stuff. Watched 2 seconds and had to turn it off. "The link is established between serial killers and animal cruelty" https://www.independent.co.uk/news/long_reads/domestic-violence-animal-cruelty-abuse-neglect-murder-children-dogs-a9018071.html
  15. people posted photos and I don't think it's the same one but it may have been along the same road. Indeed it looks very similar .
  16. why were they pushing their way through the intersection. I can see a stop sign on one side and it appears there's a traffic light also. Not sure who's at fault even but generally it's never a good idea to go through any intersection in Thailand without really slowing down and looking first.
  17. It sounds like you're the one who's' confused. "English people of a differing ethnicity" English IS an ethnicity. The Muslims, Africans, Asians etc... who arrived in the recent decades came to an island which was already populated by an existing ethnic group hundreds of years ago.
  18. Hard to know if you ask me. I doubt most of us can tell an 18 year from a 16 year old. Often Thai girls in their early 20s can even look like teens to me.
  19. The problem is this article was probably written by Albert Irvin and as usual he fails to translate properly and produces slop. I doubt reporting him would make any difference.
  20. that sounds extremely to me. Not sure how you got the land leased to you but since you do you should be comfortable going into the land office and asking questions to them directly.
  21. I was just traveling through the airport in Korea and couldn't staring at the women because 99% of them appear to flawless skin. It was like they all came right out of an advertisement for makeup. Luckily no one called the police on me or I would have missed my flight.
  22. So she was going to go with those 3 nasty hairy guys for a mere 3000 baht but they rejected her because of her small breasts? 🤮This is just sad. 3000 baht to be defiled by Indians and that wasn't even good enough.
