Thanks I'll try that brand too. The problem I have is that without fail one or more of the plugs or USB strip fails and it only takes a few months sometimes. I have had some which survived for years but it seems totally random, like the factory has no quality control (probably).

I ordered a couple $20 ones to try but maybe they're crap too. It's hard to know unless you try them. Powerstrips aren't exactly complicated devices and they should be durable even at cheap(er) price points. I don't know how those Thai bought ones fails so frequently.

Ok, it's staying in the US ???? Thanks guys. The power adapters you get in Thailand are absolute garbage, they break within months without fail. Can anyone recommend a good brand I can get which will work in Thailand? EDIT: ok I see the ones I want on Amazon so I'll try one of those but if anyone can recommend a Thai brand that doesn't suck balls I'd get that too.

I was in the country during this time and I remember it being more like a rival faction arresting their political opponent. I first came to Thailand in 2005 so I missed what happened before this point but It's all very similar to what's happening now to Trump in the US. Basically a non-establishment individual enters the government, despite their best efforts to keep him out, and once they're in the knives are out and they do what ever they can to expel them. I bet they attempted various things before finding this corruption charge that stuck, just like the Russia collusion story that landed on Trump immediately after he took office.

I feel the same you do. Thailand's a great country to live in but the people are on average discourteous and frustrate me easily. Selfish driving, making noise, allowing dogs to roam in streets, burning etc... all things you shouldn't do if you had respect for the people around you. Take heart though that many Thais feel the same way we do so you'r not alone. Problem is we're both in the minority.

This is 100x worse in the US. Remember when Joe Biden said he didn't want his growing up in a racial jungle? Well that's happened now and it's ugly. Looking at the videos that come out it looks like some schools are full blown gang war zones. Thailand is nowhere near this point.

Those families must have been really nasty to contest a will and cause the owner to lose their property. Even so it's such an obvious and dumb tactic it's hard to believe a Thai court wouldn't toss that out.

That had to go to supreme court? That should be normal operating procedure in marriage according to Thai law, unless foreigners are treated in a special category...

People always say this but is there any evidence of it being true? Not only is it marital property but you were supposed to be given the right to sell. Simply allowing a family member to say "no" and running out the clock seems ridiculous, even for Thai standards.

it's a housing project? I see so many of these low quality housing projects popping up around Chiang Mai. Usually in the 1.5-3 million baht range. Most of them are not crap and the developers have driven up land prices to an absurd level. I would leave CM tomorrow if not for my wife. That being said they do appear to be selling, but I could be wrong about that and we're just in a debt fueled construction bubble.

In all seriousness this is true. Some large percent of Thai population has increased their food costs by 30% (+ inflation!) and shifted the money to a few large companies. Maybe it's worth it for them but this is a prime example of how the rich get richer and poor get poorer.
